*The soldiers make all the women in the camps go through a check up. Their food is changed to make sure the kids are healthy, and the women are fine. The men are put into details and sent to work. The architect army is busy working on the shields. The Xan are forced to sweep up and clean the city. They are all chained together and watched very closely.*

Re: Algarine

*On yet a different continent, that of Kreesis, another contingent of ori'ramikade made their way through a city. A tall Verd in Black and Red armour led them towards the government buildings at the center of the capital city of Algarine. Off to his left the sprawling headquarters of Agara mining belched smoke from several duracrete chimneys, muddying the sky that swam with a flight of Bessies maintaining air support incase the ground troops needed it. Not that it was likely. Commander Aris hadn't been on a drop as peaceful as this and had actually begun to relax a little as he mounted the steps to the large grey square that housed the government officials.
A gesture was enough to have the verd behind him fan out with two, his sergeant and Corperal, flanking him as he walked through the large double doors and into the brightly lit foyer.
Within minutes he was stood in front of the ruling council and informing them of the rules by which clan Vhett demanded they abide by. There weren't many. The council would continue to govern and see to the affairs of the populace and would have a minor say in any decisions made by Aliit Vhett as long as they kept things running smoothly.
Aris left the building happy and began his inspection of the mining headquarters...*

Re: Algarine

=Xoran=
*The green tinged alien blinked, the effect to non-Xan was remarkable as the lids closed on the large bulbous black eyes. The man in front of him had removed his helmet and revealed himself to be female, at least from Xoran's studies thats what it seemed to be. Long hair, tied back behind their hair into a sort of tail and a slender face. It was a shock to see the being Xoran had been addressing was not what he thought it was. Strange creatures these humans were, quite unattractive. His thoughts turned to his beautiful yellow skinned wife back home, he was glad he could afford to keep her there in the warmth, the skies were getting colder and Xoran was already forced to wrap himself in clothes to cover as much of his skin as he could, only his eyes showed through the wrappings soon even those would have to be covered in goggles.

Drawing out his pass he showed it to the Mandalorian with long hair on duty, once checked the Xan was cleared to enter the building. Stepping through the door the politician started to remove his coverings from his face, feeling the warm heated air reviving him from his sluggishness.*

=Xathos=
*Hurrying across the foyer of the building green skin flushed pink in places with excitement, or was it apprehension, Xathos spotted Xoran as the other removed the protective goggles and coverings.
Raising both hands in greeting the male Xan, secretary to the elder council, hurried over to his counterpart and inclined his bulbous head in a peculiar bobbing motion.*

{The Hardshells have been with their demands. The council is meeting now but it appears that they made little if any demands at all!}

*His large eyes flickered to the door through which Xoran had entered and through which the armoured Mandalorians, or "Hardshells" had left.*

Re: Algarine

=Xoran=
*Xoran returned the greeting, letting his hands drop back to his sides as he gave a shake of his head and started to walk through the corridors keeping in step with Xorath, his head kept low as he took in all the changes that were happening so quickly.*

{The passes seem to work alright, to be honest these Hardshells seem quite polite and don't seem to be causing trouble, but it grates on me that we are under anothers power again. We should be a free world, not hopefully governing to not draw the wrong attention from our Masters.}

*He made sure his voice was kept low incase a Mandalorian had a translator programme running nearby, although their language was so complex that it could be argued that the words could mean anything.

Walking through to a corridor that was a wall of curved transparisteel, the Xan looked out at the world beyond, others moved below them covered in wrappings to protect themselves and in the skies soared ships, the designs of some were new to Xoran. It was a beautiful world, and despite the cold air that settled outside Xoran couldn't help but gaze in wonder at the snow capped mountains in the distance. He wished that he could do that thing involving sticks on your feet that other species seemed to enjoy, winter sports wasn't so easy for them though. Shrugging he turned back to Xorath and indicated to the door that led into the great chamber, the centre of the government, the mornings session had begun and onlt by entering they would hear what their new controllers demanded of them.*

Ah that was for the council. He rolled his eyes to the left to traci his friend.*

{The Hardshells dont care what we do. They will let us do as we have always done}

*He said it with false bravado that he didn't feel but...
He glanced at Xoran thoughtfully. Wandering if she felt, as he did, that some sort of resistance was in order against the Hardshells...*

Re: Algarine

*Xoran felt the atmosphere in the chamber as if it was spoken to him, his large eyes blinking once at the almost full meeting chamber, he'd not seen so many crowded in for a long time. It partly pleased him to see so many turn out to care for their world, but also the fear and anger in the room was everywhere. All the room's eyes, open and staring at their Premier, Xarith. She was an old Xan, but she still captivated in the way one half her age would to Xoran's eyes, not for her beauty as much as her presence. Her skin a pale pink, a rarer colour in the room, although the scientists assured them that pink Xan's were still thriving, he seemed to feel he saw less of them. The room was quiet, with only the occassional mutterings whispered between close friends, but he knew all comments would be guarded.*

=Xarith=
{The Mandalorians have promised us a future, this Clan will stop the horrors our previous rulers have enforced upon us. I know many of you would be angry at the pain those others have caused us, that there was talk of rebellion amongst even the higher members of this council and I would never have stopped such action, these Mandalorians are not the same.}

=Xan in the crowd=
{They are all the same! An Algara II is our world! Why can't we rule ourselves? Why must we have these hardshells call themselves our masters}

=Xarith=
{They do not use such words, they offer us protection in exchange for sharing our world and its resources. We are a clever race, but we have no defence against invasion, these Mandalorians will...}

=Xan in the crowd=
{Then we should overthrow them and steal their ships, take back our world!}

*The room suddenly devided itself into two reactions to the conversation, shock rippled through most at the Xan daring to interrupt Xarith, while others murmured their agreement to overthrowing the Mandalorians that were here. Too many had been lost to the previous hardshells, too many families ripped apart. Xoran felt their pain and understood where they were coming from, but also how dangerous it could be for them to speak out pubically like this. Stepping forward through the crowd he took a speaking platform, showing his request to be allowed to talk to the council. Xarith's face fell upon him, inpenatrable, Xoran could not tell if his request was welcome or not to the Premier. With a simple nod the other Xan invited his speech.*

=Xoran=
{While we have undergone hardships in the past and we are a proud people that desires only to control our own future, in the Universe we are a minority with a small voice. If these Mandalorians are asking so little of us we should embrace this time to rebuild, flourish, find a way to become a louder voice while we have a friend beside us, protecting us. It seems from what our honourable Premier has said that that is the role these Mandalorians want to take and we should welcome it, not give them reasons to enforce the pains of the past. These are new people and we should greet them as such, not brand them with their cousins' crimes as we would not hold a family responsible for one child's mistakes.}

*The room had settled and Xoran did not look towards Xarith as he turned away from the speaking platform, not wishing to seem like he was looking for thanks from her. Walking back into the crowd he sort out Xorath.*

=Xoran=
{I would be interested in finding the Xan that spoke earlier and talking with him, do you think you could ask around, find out who he is. Just to make sure that he isn't upset at what is happening, we don't want any unwanted attention from the hardshells.}

*He knew Xorath would understand, they would need friends, but they would need to be subtle with it. Speaking out in public needed to be kept to a minimum and only in the right company. With a nod Xorath vanished off between the the other Xan, searching out the speaker as the debate continued without them.*

Re: Algarine

=Xarith=
{This isn't going to be easy.}

=Xoran=
{Nothing ever is in our line of work, Premier.}

*It was only a few days since the council meeting and Xoran had been called to Xarith's office, he knew he would be and Xarith had left the right amount of days to be polite but not making it look like Xoran had too much power for his position. She wanted him and all the rest of the Council know that she was still in charge. Xoran sipped at the warmed blue milk, feeling more alert in her heated chambers now that he had warmed back up from the trip over here. He hated the winter days, he wished sometimes they could return to hibernating.*

=Xarith=
{Some Xan are detirmined to upset things with the Hardshells, we can't risk a revolution, we won't win it.}

=Xoran=
{As much as I agree with you, Premier, it will be hard to appease the hot tempered amongst them. Our people went through much suffering under the regime of the previous Hardshells and from what they've heard it seems that our planet was given away as a gift to another, like it is nothing more than a trinket to be handed around. They see their missing wives and daughters and wonder where they went and what happened to them, they look to their sons and see graves in their place. It is a hard image just to wave away.}

=Xarith=
{You think I don't know this? You think that I didn't lose Xan too? My son is one of the lost, he went out one day and never came home. He was not even trying to fight them, he was peaceful, but they took him anyway and I only suspect the quietness since the change-over to mean that he did not survive.}

*Some Xan had started filtering home, the prisons opened and those that had no record of a serious crime allowed to return to their families, the Hardshells had hoped that this would ease tensions. They promised to find out where the others had gone, even if it just meant discovering the location of the graves, at least they knew where to let their tears fall.*

=Xoran=
{I do understand, Premier, and your loss brings us closer together. Perhaps if we could get more answers from the Hardshells then it would start to appease more, request an apology for the previous regime?}
*Xoran knew what he was asking for and knew what ripples this would cause amongst the Hardshells, the previous ruler was now Mand'alor, for this new clan to apologise for his actions would mean to publically condemn what he had once done to this planet. Perhaps the Xan could not shrug off their rulers, but didn't mean they couldn't find a way to force their attention to be diverted to internal matters. His eyes did not blink as he looked with feigned innocence at Xarith, her head slowly shaking, not to say no but her realisation that he made sense.*

=Xoran=
{I will leave the decisions with you, Premier, I know you will make the one that is best for us. You always know you have my support.}

*Without waiting for a goodbye he got up from his seat and slipped from the room on his gangly legs, forcing the smile to stay off his face incase the security cameras picked up on his pleasure.*

Re: Algarine

=Xarith=

*Xarith stood, her hands wringing each other, the only visable sign of the worry that ate at her core. Xoran's words had been spoken a few days ago now and she still thought them over even as she spoke about other matters the bubbling unrest amongst the people called through to her. She partly wanted to scream at her people, they were safe, safer than they had ever been! The hardshells promised their protection and did nothing to endanger or upset their lives. The past was just that, another man's crimes. But she looked like she was doing nothing by doing nothing when so many demanded appologies at best and retribution at worst. The whole planet felt like it was sat upon a tinderbox and Xarith didn't even know where the fuse was, let alone how many might hold a light. Swallowing she turned to her desk, pressing a button a small light came on and she stared towards it, a recording beam that would carry her holographic message to he hardshell that held her world.*

:: Cassus Fett, Alit'alor of Clan Vhett, my name is Xarith. :: *Her large black eyes blinked once as she held her head proud imagining the man before her and talking with the presence of a head of state, even with her accented basic.* :: I speak to you as the Premier of Algara Two, a planet that sits within your protectorate and one that finds itself... troubled by continuing unrest by the condition the previous regime imposed on us. We understand that the mandalorian that once ruled and ruined this planet is now the leader of your people and we petition you to offer us a public apology on his behalf. It would show the Xans that you respect our lives and culture and will make the transition into your protectorship a smoother one. Without such an apology then I fear that this planet will become more de-stabled as not even I can calm even the wildest storms. I implore a thoughtful reply in this matter from one as great and renowned as Cassus Fett. ::

*The light blinked out and now it was up to the holo-net to take the message to Fett, Xarith sighed hoping that the decision she had made was the right one. Her future as well as the planets rested on this settling the planets emotions.*

Re: Algarine

=Xarith, Xoran & Xathos=

Cassus Fett wrote::: Premier Xarith, it is firstly my pleasure to at last speak with you in person. The transition your world has experienced in coming under our guard has to date been without trouble, and for that I thank you and the noble people you represent. Your recent history under Mandalorian rule, I will admit, has had its issues. There were a number of instances we ourselves bore witness to, that chilled our blood, and we regret you were subjected to. However, as I am sure you will understand, the rule of our predecessor has no relevance to our place their now, and I will personally assure you that those days are behind you. I will not apologise for the transgressions of another. Each individual in this Universe is responsible for their own acts. Your request for such an offering, though understandable, truly, would be better suited addressing the man at fault. In continuance, I will guarantee that the recently-attained freedoms and liberties you all have achieved, will continue. We wish for the Xan to once again become prosperous, successful, and strong in their own right. For now, we are merely present on your world for your own safety and to assist you in attaining that which you all desire. We wish to work with you, not against you, and to help you through the troubles you were previously put under. Clan Vhett will help in any way we are able, so long as you also are prepared to help us, help you. Algara II shall become a hub of enlightenment and prosperity, both physical and financial, that I assure you. I would ask you as Premier, to ensure your people are clear on my meaning and intent. Hostility breeds hostility, I will remind you, and any disturbance we are forced to subdue, will only serve as a setback to your world's growth. Clan Vhett will not apologise for wrong-doings not by our hand, and we are here to stay for the duration. I look forward to hearing from you in due course, and anticipate great things to come from our unified efforts. Fett out. ::

*The message played out, not for the first time, Xarith must have watched it ten times now, each time trying to reason what she could do next. In a late moment of exhaustion she was angry that the Hardshells that she had believed in had let her down. Could they not understand what this monster had done to them? Her own son!? But those feelings were quickly subdued, a leader had to put her world before her own feelings.

Beside her another Xan shifted, it was the first time Xoran had seen it and sat beside him was Xathos, both were close friends, but Xarith was surprised to have the other Xan turn up when only Xoran was invited. It seemed churlish to shun him though and would endanger her support from Xoran to openly have secrets from others that were close too. She guessed that Xorath would probably just repeat the message to his friend anyway, perhaps it was better if he saw the actual words and not just a rememberance of them.

The silence seemed undending and while Xarith felt the unease with it, she refused to break it, she would wait patiently for Xoran to speak first, she did not want to prompt his answer in anyway. Eventually the other Xan dropped his head and rested his chin on the tips of her fingers as the pressed together in a pyramid.*

=Xoran=
{Well that was clear, do what you want as long as its what we want. Sad that these Hardshells must always resort to veiled threats instead of having the strength to stand up for something right for a change. Perhaps Premier you must do as he wishes and keep a low profile, the people will be upset at the lack of apology, but its better to follow his instructions than risk the Hardshells wrath. I will of course stand beside you when you tell them that we must take the past and bury it with those lost for fear of losing so much more.}

*His words were warm and told Xarith that he truly cared, she would never understand how silver tongued the male she considered her friend could be and how manipulated that she had just been. His last words had been carefull chosen, to push at the loss of her own son and knowledge that their people would never accept such words. Xarith's response could not have been better if he'd written her script himself.*

=Xarith=
{No. No we will not tell anyone that. It would be a worse insult than any Hardshell had ever paid. The clan leader has refused to apologise on the Mand'alor's behalf, just as I know you would never apologise on mine for a guilt that you had no part in. We tried to take an easy route to peace by running to the seemingly calmer leader and getting him to do the work that we should have the strength to do alone. I will go to Mandalore, I will petition the Mand'alor himself to apologise for what he has done, then we may have peace to move along with rebuilding our world.}

=Xoran=
{Are you sure? It could be dangerous. Perhaps you should send someone in your place?}

*Standing up she walked to her door, opening it and holding it open for Xoran and Xathos to leave her, the smile on her face showing no ill will, just the desire to start on immediately.*

=Xarith=
{I am sure, I must be capable of doing anything another Xan would do so that I am not weak in anyones eyes. A Mand'alor would not respect me if I sent another to stand in my place. Do not worry Xoran, I'm tougher than I look.}

*Closing the door on the two males she did not see the look the pair shared, a look that said they had won and now the path needed laying for Xarith to never return to Algara II by any means at their disposal. It would have horrified Xarith to know how far the corruption against her had spread and that even amongst those closest to her was a danger she wouldn't understand until it was too late.*

Re: Algarine

*Xarith had only been gone from the planet a day and Xoran was already hearing whisperings around the corridors, he kept the smile off his face in public as they questioned what their leader was doing running off to the hardshell that had caused so much pain and misery to them. Xarith had made a huge mistake, and it was one that Xoran was in no rush to explain; she had failed to mention the reason for her trip. The rumours were far more advanced that Xoran expected so quickly and it made his life so much easier that he had to do so little to stir the pot.

His large eyes looked out of the large picture window that his new office blessed him with, recent movements in the structure had promoted him from a lowly politician to an office holder. He knew that Xarith had pushed for this to happen and he wondered if she would ever realise her mistakes, he wished he had been able to go with her to see her as the truth dawned on her face, but that would have left things open here for others.

In the street below the Hardshells moved around casually, they were the only beings he could see, must Xan forced to stay inside by the harsh winter weather only venturing out in heavy wrappings and to scurry from one place to the next. It made Xoran tired just looking at the frosty ground, as winter forced the Xan to remain inside it kept them away from Hardshells, allowing them to gather in underground tunnels that few knew about, unmissed. When the spring came then it would bring with it a newly invigorated people, ready to throw off their own shackles. Xarith was a fool to think that the Xan would ever accept this occupation, all the changing conditions offered was more chances to be successful.*
