Aquincum City

*Aquincum is a newly built city, central ring based sistem. The middle is of course the famed Cathedral of Winds. several avanues extend from this magnifiscent building, and there are even more boulevards rounding it. The city is built with great ammount of expense, with ornamentation of old Vor historical figures, legends, lyticism. The building stile is neo-baroque, and the streets are covered with not concrete nor asphalt, but stone cubes. There are no buildings over 7 levels high, so the Cathedral can be seen from the roofs of the furthest building or the hilltops far away from the city itself. Its a great hub of life, with peacefull people, mainly vors but there are many humans too and tourists. There are three starports, one for the government near the middle, next to the Cathedral, one to the north, next to fort Julii wich is a bit outside the city and is restricted to military craft only, and one by the great market to the south was the commercial spaceport, for tourism and civilian use.
The city itself lacks green areas. It is builf low and with narrow streets so the strong winds would not reach into the city, so people can promenade the streets. There are alarms, if strong winds find themselves into the avanues so people know where not to go, even offworlders.
The rooftops are filled with wind energy appliences, most of the city itself earns its energy from this, since Vortex is a great source of hurricanes. There are even greater ones outside the city for communal energy supply.

Air is mostly clear, the walls are clean, the city is beautifull. Its a real treat for those that like a nice city with low prices and a lot to offer in terms of art, recreation and relaxation.*

Re: Aquincum City

*Within the city lay a small shop on one of the outer rings, the poor district. Teffern sat in his small builders squall and fixed random things people brought to him. From broken chairs to small star ship parts he'd seen it all. Today he was fixing a busted blaster pistol his friend had brought to him. He sat on a creaky old stool and put the pistol up in a small vice to examine it. The taxes were killing this district, Teffern used to be able to charge nothing at all to fix things but slowly he needed more money to support himself. Lucky for the Vor he had no family, it made it easier to get by in these tough times. The guards were ruthless in the district, they were arresting beggars and window washers alike. The Vor builder made sure he kept his shop hidden. The new license law was a killer and Teffern hadn't renewed his builders peril in three years. He'd managed to stay hidden this long, he hoped it would last until the deal with the family of Naboo went through and he got a charter off world.*

*On the third day of Nelentes imprisonment in luxurious conditions in the presidential suite of Hotel Dianna, not far from the Cathedral, she was alerted for something.
The first day of discussing with seleevan was of course, ended way after midnight. And the two days that came was filled with intresting things, with subtle traps and gaining more information on Seleevans intentions, persona and insight in his mind.
And vise versa.
But it was this third day, as she was in that 3 roomed suite filled with real wood, golden decorations, no comms snf not much high tech equipment. At least there were guards at her door that took every request she had, and was sensible, seeing that she was after all, a POW. It was here she would feel something...*

*Meryn, as has been her custom during the majority of her stay, is deep in meditation when she is jolted from it by anguished cry through the Force for aid.

Her eyes not yet opening, her brow furrowed in empathic pain, Meryn lifts her right hand to her temple and massages it as, despite the difficulty and the instinctive desire to withdraw from the connection that has, briefly, been made between her and the one crying out to any that might hear, as though one would withdraw a hand from a hot surface, she seeks to solidify the tether between her and who has sent the cry. Feeling the connection between her mind and the other's, for a moment, become more firm, Meryn sends her thoughts outward to them, << telling them that they have been heard, that they are not alone and that, if she is able, she will find a way to them in order to render the aid they are in desperate need of. >>

The hold falters as Meryn tries to ascertain where the cry originates from, leaving her with only a general sense of where on Vortex it might have come from though that it comes from Vortex is a certainty.*
*Standing, Meryn paces one of the rooms of her makeshift prison, thinking that her promise to find the being calling for help will be one easier made than kept.* *Attempting to break free from it from inside would be a risky proposition and, while it is a risk Meryn is willing to accept, she thinks there may be another possibility.*

*Going to the door and knocking to signal her guards that she wishes to speak with them, Meryn prepares what she will say . . .*

*The GR-45 medium transport that shudders and groans like an old, possibly infirm Bantha settling down after setting down in the spaceport looks as battered and worn out as it's repulsorlifts sound as they whine to a halt. The boarding ramp creaks shrilly as it lowers, the shrill, protesting whine of the hydraulics reaching even the command pod perched atop the main hull and causing Raksha to remark,* "I can't believe this piece of crap actually made it. *Looking over at Raganella, she asks,* You said you actually paid credits for this?"

*Shaking her head, Raksha continues the post flight routines as, her expression and tone becoming more business like as it sinks in that they are now officially on the job, she says,* "Game on. Guess we better go meet the greeter and get rid of them so we can start moving."

-Vor Greeter-
"Greetings..."

*A vor greeter is actually very common. Its a first line defence of any kind against criminals or enemy recon troops. It is also first line PR for Vortex as an RnR planet. See, being greeted by someone whos sole job is to greet newcommers and be their personal tourist information source is VERY nice to most people, and Vortex authorities get a first glance of everyone coming to the planet. Greeters were militia. The militia on vortex was a kind of secret police/insergency force, in case vortex came under attack. They would work and live like everyone else, and report any kinds of crimes or enemy activities they sensed that could hurt Vortex, the Vor people, or their god.
And they had Guardians. SD-10 war droids. They all had them stashed, hidden and ready, only to be used if absolutely neccesery.

Xagorth of the Greeters clergy was the same, and he was a pawn in the chess Sel was playing with the jedi. He and his kind were the queens.*

-Xagorth The Greeter-
"... I am Xagorth of the Greeters Clergy. Welcome to Vortex, the jewl of the Middle rim. I will be your guide to a good and prosper stay here on vortex, the home of the Cathedral of Winds. May I ask what is the reason for your visit? Business or just enjoying the fruits Vortex has to offer?"

*The vor was tall, as all vors, and wore a robe of bright colours, mostly red and yellow. He also had feathers attached to armbands on his bicep, and a large feathered helmet/hat. He looked goofy and ancient in a vay. And of course, he was only armed with a datapad.*

*Very simple reasons why they did not open doors. It would be too easy to use mindtrick on people you see. Sel did not underestimate Nelentes powers, even if the Triarii Auxilla guarded her. He hoped that her compfterble stay and long talks would keep her in check, but being caucious never hurt.
And these soldiers had orders to leave her in her room, unable to leave only if ordered. She was his Jedi Early Warning Sistem.*

**Stopping at the foot of the boarding ramp behind Kel's right shoulder, Veran, dressed in a worn, authentically grease stained navy blue coverall, crosses her arms over her chest and, looking slightly bored, plays the part of Kel's first mate as best she can; the big one that is the muscle when muscle is needed.* Veran, a zabrak, stands at 6'2" and has a ligthly muscled athletic build, light brown skin and long black hair that is currently fastened in a sloppy ponytail. The fact that the greeter she had been a little worried about is apparently part of some religious outfit that apparently is all about the greeting makes her relax a little, though she doesn't discount the possibility that, in addition to the greeting, the clergy also play other roles, like intelligence gathering or maybe policing.

Kel doesn't answer the greeter right away so Veran, patience never having been a virtue that comes easy for her, says, "Business," before the length between the question and the answer goes on too long, then explains succinctly, "Scrap," before looking around and asking, "You know where we might go to start looking for buyers?"*

*After taking a moment to carefully inspect the integrity of the boarding ramp, as well as the exterior of the ship itself, the disguised Jedi caught sight of the Vor greeter, and quickened his pace slightly as he approached the alien, a noticeable energy and enthusiasm about him.* *It seemed as if the brown-haired man were eager to meet the locals. Dressed in worn overalls, and a badly patched black leather jacket, the bearded, crook-smiled human male was the spitting image of the Corellian spacer stereotype. Seemingly perfectly at home in not-quite-matching boots and a shoulder-slung tool belt, the grimy man smirked as his Zabrak bodyguard cut to the chase.*

"Pleased to meet you, Xagorth." *The 'spacer' drawled, fighting his scratchy false beard internally but not letting it effect his outward movements. He stared the Vor straight in the eye.* "Name's Cap Akazi. Would you be able to point our merry merchant band in the direction of your most popular pilot hangouts?" *Everything about their appearance would seem utterly normal, and even mundane, or so the Jedi hoped.* *He winked.* "Strictly the legal ones, of course."

*Reaching up and massaging her temple as she waits for the reply, Meryn frowns, looking over her shoulder and around the room she has been confined to during her time here on Vortex as though she might see something new, some means of escape that she has overlooked, even though she knows she will not.*

:: Can not be done Warlock. Lord Khar is right now in a meeting with Warlock Pyek. They are not to be disturbed. Anything else, we can try to help with? ::

*The answer was the clean truth, but for someone wanting to know anything from a henchman of a Dark lord, lies are a rather big possibility. Now, if this is true, then the Lord himself can not be there, torturing or hurting the individual who can be paired up with the call for help. This leaves us with the great question of WHO is actually the person crying out, as the Lord was right now concerning himself with Master Pyek. Is it maybe combined with master pyek? Maybe he is forced to watch, or even forced to partake in the torture of an other jedi?

And there were other exists in the room. The windows for one were rather likely suspects, with a good 20 story fall. One COULD try to climb the decoration on the outside wall, but seeing how tretcherious the winds of Vortex are, that might not be a life insurance. If Nelente would try to become crafty, she could try to find vents or maintence shafts but those are highly defended by security. This IS a presidential suite, and the people living in this room need high security, wich they pay for.*

*As the "captain" came down the ramp, the vor looked him over as he bowed. Corellian spacer stereotype. The jedi-s first misstake. Not that there are others thus far, but it was. All vors know that corellia is not a friendly planet for Vors now, and logic dictates the same hostility is vice versa. Xagaroth will make sure the Militia will get a report to watch these newcommers. Since the Vor Warhosts interest in Corellia, nearly all corellian spacers vanished off planet, wich is bad for business, but it comes with the theritory. It is the will of Khar, and Khar works in misterious Ways. A simple Vor can not comprehend it untill it reaches its finnish, and Khar has never betrayed his people. This little war will be good for the Vor in the end.*

*The spacer captain looked almost blank for a second at the mention of rooms.* *He knew full well what the Vor was doing, and he was going to do his best to fill up that datapad with all sorts of minutia that would throw any intelligence operations completely off-track. The more than man wrote down about them, the better. The Jedi hoped it would be a very misleading puzzle before he was through.*

"Oh, I'm not looking for a place to stay, just somewhere to mingle and drink and talk shop, you know?" *He grinned.* "If your Hotel Hera can offer that, then I have a liver longing to test your local liquor." *He nodded in the direction of the massive Zabrak.* "It'll just be us two, at least until we get the lay of the land." *Turning back to Lt. Dhawan for a moment, he made eye contact with his phony chief of operations.* "Chief, you're in charge until we get back. We won't be long." *He knew she would spend the time splitting the pilots up into two units -- the ones who would re-assembly their birds when the time came, and the ones who would join in the rescue mission itself. It might be a contentious debate, and it would be best to let her carry it out without the presence of the Jedi. It would help the pilots relax.*

"You mentioned that it is your weekend. Are there any important weekend customs we should know about?" *The disguised Jedi asked their Vor host as he moved away from the transport.* "Can't risk losing business by offending the local religion or nothing, you know?"

**Admiring the way Kel managed to avoid revealing just how many of them arrived in the battered GR-45 as well as the impressive use of alliteration when talking about finding a place to drink and mingle with the locals, Veran keeps pace behind and to Kel's side silently and with an intently watchful expression to keep up the pretense of being the brawn to his supposed brains.*

Their friendly neighborhood Vor greeter says it's the weekend, which could either be a good thing or a bad thing for Dhawan's people depending on what weekends mean on Vortex. If, like most other worlds, Vortex's working-class citizens use the weekends to get out and about doing all the crap they couldn't do during the weekend, then Dhawan's team should be able to move about without drawing too much attention to themselves. On the other hand, if the weekend means staying home or doing religious things like Kel's question seems intended at sussing out, Dhawan's people would be conspicuous if they were moving around. Hopefully the Vor answers the question before they are out of earshot so Dhawan can hear the answer and adjust her plans accordingly.*

*Jorek had dragged himself out of the berth when the GR transport had touched down, and after visiting the 'fresher once more, felt as though he could actually interact without blowing his cover, or anybody else's.

The worst of the withdrawal was over, the physical revulsion, but he still had to deal with the psychological symptoms, which in their own perverse, particular way, were even more debilitating than the physical. Everything was dull, slow. Colors were less vibrant, smells were less aromatic. He felt like an old man, used up and tired in every way.

Until he forced the thought away, drove the spice from his mind out of necessity as much as desire.

Moving slowly, looking as bedraggled as any hired second-class mechanic would, with pallor to match his station -- Jorek made his way to the vast cargo bay, soon coming upon Dudek, Krall and Dhawan. Summoning his very best sneer and adopting a posture that said he was as thrilled about being here as he would be about being served up to the sarlaac, Jorek cleared his throat, and as they turned to warily face him, he spoke in an accent that was pure Tarisian downsider.*

*Veran doesn't let her disgust show, as hard as it is not to, when their greeter speaks about Sleeevan Khar like some kind of god. Their briefing included information on how the Vor view the Sith Lord as some kind of deity rather than the simple terrorist that he is, and so Veran isn't surprised to hear an example of that belief, and she has seen before how beings can delude themselves to the true nature of those they follow and to the true nature of what they themselves do as a result of their beliefs.

She isn't here to worry about politics or ideology either, so Veran looks at the things the greeter points out with the mildly bored, polite interest she assumes any normal laborer that is here on business would while filing away where the different places are in case she needs them for reference later. What she is here to do is to try and find Masters Nelente or Pyek and Lt. Witwer, so as they continue on the tour Veran lets her awareness of the Force expand outward in an attempt to sense either Pyek or Nelente, who she knows well enough that sensing their signatures within the currents of the Force should not be too difficult provided they are near enough.

Veran hadn't really expected to sense anything, figuring Khar would have their fellow Jedi somewhere out of the way or surrounded by those lizard things that can keep a Force user from connecting with the Force, and so when she does have a clear sense of Master Nelente when they get close to the hotel, Veran nearly lets her surprise and surge of hope that the mission will not be in vain show. *Catching herself before doing something stupid like stopping in her tracks or looking at Kel to see if he senses Nelente nearby as well, Veran just keeps walking and looking at whatever their guide is pointing at as she focuses on connecting with Nelente and sending her thoughts out through the Force to* << let the captured Jedi Master know that she is here with Kel and others that are intent on rescuing her, and asking Nelente to let her know where she is and how they might best get her free. >>*
