Re: Bacta production facility

*It had been many years now since Thyferra had changed hands from the Barsoomian Alliance to the Vegemite Sith Enclave, and in that time the VSE had massed prodigious wealth through the production and sale of that most precious of substances known as Bacta; a substance they held a monopoly on. But over recent years the production quantity had dwindled and the sales had fallen. In fact, no-one had even posted here for ages! At first the suits at Zaltin had lived in fear that any day a Lord of the VSE would burst through their doors and demand an explanation, punctuating each sentence with a dreaded lightsaber. But days turned into weeks and weeks to months and eventually the suits grew as lax and uncaring as they believed their lords to be. Unfortunately for them.....they were mistaken.

In the middle of a boardmeeting in which the members had just audaciously voted to increase their own salaries, they are interupted by sounds of a commotion outside the closed boardroom doors. Suddenly the security guard comes flying through them, landing on his back with a crunch, still and unmoving. Staring in shock, they watch as a tall beast of a man with dreadlocks storms in after the fallen guard and levels a glare at the group. A discerning eye might pick the man as a Kiffar, but those watching him were far too scared right now to notice. Another guard runs through the door behind him and a stun baton, but a lightning fast spin and a rock hard fist to the face send the guard flying into a wall, whereupon the man turns back to the directors. One of them, a portly older man known for his bluster, at last gathers his courage enough to stand and speak*

=Mr. Howard=
Th..this company is owned by the VSE! They'll kill you for...

*The Kiffar - Hammer to his friends - cuts him off with a roar*

=Anhur "Hammer" Sha Mordin=
SILENCE!!! How dare you invoke their name!? I serve Lord Reign himself!

*At hearing this, two of the board members faint and another soils his pants and the rest simply shiver in fear, but Hammer surprises them by taking no punitive action other than to state in a steely voice*

=Hammer=
Point out to me the most competent and capable individual in this boardroom, other than myself.

*It seems like a strange request and fraught with danger. Noone wanted to be singled out, and noone wanted to be thought of as less than fully competent, no matter the state the company had fallen into. Eventually however, a consensus is reached - a slender man with a small goatee who is suddenly looking decidedly nervous. Even more so when Hammer suddenly produces a wicked-looking discblade as he pronounces his judgement*

=Hammer=
The Lords of the VSE to not tolerate disappointment nor disloyalty. And they despise incompetence. You reap what you sow.

*The stench of terror in the room increases two-fold at that pronouncement, and sheer pandemonium breaks out as Hammer hurls his discblade, splitting open two throats on the first pass and spraying blood across the expensive boardoom table. Yells and screams echo through the chamber as people scatter in every direction. One of the more spritely directors tries to duck past Hammer and out the main doors but a sword with a bone hilt flashes out to intercept the man, slicing across his chest even as Hammer catches his returning discblade in his left hand. However it does not rest there long before being spun out to punch through the chest of a particularly attractive blonde bimbo. Before long the bloodbath is over and only two people remain; Hammer himself and the man with the goatee, who seems to have just enough self-respect not to beg for mercy as Hammer approaches him with an unyeilding stare. A tear leaks out the corner of the man's right eye as the blood-covered spectre of death approaches, but he suddenly becomes totally and utterly perplexed as he watches Hammer put away his discblade and sheathe his sword.*

=Hammer=
Stand up like a man!

*The man whose name shall go unmentioned due to both its insignificance and my lack of creativity, slowly rises to his feet, still just barely resisting the urge to piss his pants, and worried that some kind of special death has been chosen just for him. However it seemed to be his lucky day*

=Hammer=
For your supposed competence, you shall be granted a second chance. Assemble a new board and return this corporation to its former glory. Succeed and you shall become a very wealthy man. Fail, and what you witnessed here today will be as nothing, with your family home as the venue. Understand?

*Trembling, the man nods fervently, his gaze flickering between Hammer himself and the gory remains of his former boardmembers scattered around the room. Satisfied now that his mission from Reign is complete and the lesson has been learnt, Hammer turns and walks away. Just before he passes the threshold though, he turns back to add an afterthought*

=Hammer=
Oh, and leave the blood stains on the table. A memento to remember the price of failure

Re: Bacta production facility

*The production of bacta continues apace. Not a single member of Zaltin Corporation wants to suffer the wrath of a failure to meet demand. And demand, as usual, was high. Zaltin Corporation was currently the only way to get bacta anywhere in the galaxy, and the VSE kept a tight control on the company due the judicious use of the old-fashioned "carrot and cuke" reward system. When things went well, everyone got a carrot. But when things poorly......everyone got cuked. What's more, with Lady Shazza off on her whirlwind Zaltin promotion tour, overseers expected demand to rise even further, and they did not want to be caught offguard.*

Re: Bacta production facility

Prizq wandered from the break room slowly back to his post along the line of bacta filtration. He, like numerous other Thyferrans, were stationed along these lines because the bacta components as well as the purification elements were toxic to the humans that worked in the higher reaches of the factory.

Prizq thoughtfully stroked a short antenna as he ambled down the corridor on his stick like legs, humming a little tune that often passed through the local bars. Back to work on the line for another seven hours.

Re: Bacta production facility

*As the central hub of bacta production, it was from this point that the massive custom-built bacta cargo freighters are filled with bacta and sent to all corners of the galaxy. Today yet another of these takes off, bound for the Outer Rim and escorted by two warrior-class gunships and half a flight of A-Wings*

Return to Zaltin Corporation
