*Extricating herself from the situation she had found herself in in the Multi-Sport Center was tricky but she managed it. Still, she didn't quite feel like leaving the place. There was something about it, something here that she could almost remember. The grey murk clouding her memories swirled around everything, confusing her. Was she tricking herself into having de ja vus or was she actually remembering something? Breathe. Deeply in. Slowly out.
The casino, much as the Jedi in her hated to admit and the Corellian loved to say, was a very nice place. Details about people and the place filtered through her already distracted mind, things fading in with the fog only to sharply refocus themselves. Breathe. You're fine. She focused her attention on perhaps the most attention-grabbing aspect of the place: the statue. She wasn't quite sure she understood why it had been sculpted like that--most sculptures tended to draw attention to the curves most females possessed, as the icon of their sexuality. But then, she never studied art nor knew enough to really form an opinion on it. All she knew is that it helped her focus on something other than the fog.*
"Watch it!" *a brindled Togorian snarled as he pushed past her.*
"Watch it yourself, ya overgrown housecat," *she muttered. The Togorian paused. Adelle's heart stopped: how in the world had he heard that over all this noise? Maybe he hadn't. Maybe he was stopping for another reason.*
"What'd you call me!"
Kriff. *Unnoticed, the change in her grew, a nameless spread slowly controlling her.* *She didn't back down, though all the common sense in the world was telling her to just shut up.* "You heard me, kittycat. Are you deaf or did you just have too much catnip today?"
*The Togorian snarled fiercely.* "If I ever get my hands on you, you're dead!"
"If." *Adelle dashed to the side as the Togorian lunged, weaving in and out of the crowd as the Togorian barrelled through them like a bantha on a rampage. The tables were a huge obstacle for running and straight paths were narrow and crowded. It would've been impossible to simply run as fast as she could to get away. But she was no sprinter. She planted her left foot and propelled herself over a card table in a horizontal spin, sprinting off again as she landed. Let the Togorian clear that. Let him chase her. She'd give him all of Corellia's nine hells.
Flipping, dodging, rolling, diving . . . Like some sort of hyper acrobat, she led that Torgorian on a merry little chase, drawing on all her skill at free-running. Many drinks were spilled, many patrons shoved aside, many a cry, but none of it mattered. She felt different. The fog cleared a little and she felt like she could remember things long lost to her. Adelle slid between the legs of some long-legged guest, there and gone before they knew what happened. Yes, she'd done something like this. The corner that greeted her was a problem though. She skidded to a stop and turned around to run in a new direction but it was too late. The Togorian was there.
Kriff it all.
His haymaker punch came swift and hard. Adelle ducked in beneath the swing, throwing a hard uppercut to his gut then sidestepping and darting around behind him. He turned with a growl.*
"Feelin' lucky?" *he spat.* "'Cause the odds of you walking away from this are slim to none."
"Never tell me the odds," *she said. His right fist came at her next. She stepped back to dodge it then ducked beneath the left. She didn't see his right hand coming back. His uppercut caught her square in the jaw and sent her flying onto a table. Adelle rolled off it onto her feet, barely avoiding an overhanded smash of similar strength. The pain from her jaw gave her new clarity, forcing her to focus more if she didn't want to get hit like that again. Their fight moved from the corner back into the center almost, Adelle doing her best to dodge all his hits. His next blow glanced off her ribs but she successfully avoided the punch aimed at her temple. If she could just time things right . . .
There. Now. Almost in slow-motion, Adelle saw his next strike coming for her sternum. She spun out of harm's way, grabbing onto his wrist with her right hand then striking a hard blow to his elbow with the palm of her left. Even if it didn't break the joint, it'd do enough damage to slow him down. Her next strike came at he back of his knee with her left heel, still holding his arm. When he went down to that knee, she brought her foot up in a kick at his elbow, breaking it this time. Dropping the arm and backing away, she quickly set her blaster to stun and shot the Togorian.*
"Kriffin' puss," *she muttered.* "You're slower than a Hutt on drugs."
