Anna sighed inwardly and looked away from Kwon. Why on Felucia was she attempting to hide what she truly felt? Why was she attempting not to offend Anna? Pointless, the Seer thought. Shrugging, she slowly stood to her feet and rolled her shoulders, shifting her neck from side to side and loosening up her tense muscles before looking back over to the Medic with a flat lined expression.
Uneasy is it?
She fought to keep the bitterness out of her voice. No matter what happened, no matter how many redeeming actions she preformed, nothing would win their trust back. Nothing would ever be the same. Because now, the Jedi understood just how badly the dark powers wanted her gifts. Legions' plan would have not been possible with out her, and it was all because of the stupid ability to see into the future.
No, Now, Anna would either be quietly distrusted from her forced alliance with the darkside, or violently protected from those who wished to use her as a weapon. But, did her Hybrid cousin feel the same way? Was she also one of those weapons that felt distrusted and over sheltered? Anna had never thought about that, because Paradigm always seemed to be rather.... independent. Anna was too, she supposed, but she liked people much more than Paradigm did.
Unable to hide the scoff she shook her head and spoke again in a quiet, sarcastic tone.
Just uneasy, I'd hate to see you actually afraid. You might just combust.
Clinching her teeth, she looked down at her hands and flexed her fingers.
It's alright to be afraid, of me... or, what's still inside of me. Fear keeps you from doing stupid things, like fighting a force demon alone, or flinging yourself off a tower to escape, or attempting to kill yourself so that you won't hurt anyone else.
She grinned; an expression holding no joy within it.
Fearlessness. She began, turning to face the medic again with more of a light hearted smile. Still no joy, but a wise understanding, a painful reminder of what she'd been through and how she knew a good number of the things she knew. Anna was well seasoned in the art of suffering.
Fearlessness is treated like a valuable asset by some, the Jedi, the SIth...when really, it's just looking at Fate and saying 'come and get me.' and pretending it can't hear you. Fearlessness is why I am the way I am. It's why I lost my father, my mother, my identity... my eyes.
A hollow laughter rippled freely from her lips.
Some times, Fearlessness can be equal to stupidity. You can always tell who the brave ones in a crowd are. Just listen for the most used voices. No....It's ok to be afraid.
I'm afraid.
That's why I'm still here.
*Naomi was absolutely caught off guard by her master's embrace, though she didn't, an any wise, discourage it. She welcomed the hug with one of her own, clinging to him as fiercely as he was to her, as if letting go would end both of their lives. The notion of why he was latched onto her though, made itself known in her sensitive mind. It wasn't normal....and something told the young Vahla, that, it was dark.*
Master... Master, I'm here, I'm fine.
*She said, and slowly pulled away so that she could look up at him, with her sparkling black eyes. Her round face tilted slightly and she looked questioningly at Eruestan's form. Something was totally off, and she didn't like it. Chewing on her lower lip, she spoke, softer, almost timidly.*
You're job isn't to let nothing happen to me Master... *She chose her words carefully, wondering if they were even correct. She was speaking from her gut feeling right now, something she felt the force was calling her to say...but every time she tended to act on her own, her actions had a darker nature to them. Maybe this time would be different. Maybe she'd spent enough time in Ashla's embrace to be rid of that dark streak found in all of her race.*
You're job is to teach me to defend myself...and the jedi, and all those who can't defend themselves. Jedi are the defenders of the galaxy remember Master?
*She reached up a slender bronze hand and touched his cheek, and her eyes flew wide, deep dark retinas focusing on him almost in a frightening kind of way. She suddenly felt cold and her body shivered slightly. Those dark whispers that still, so slightly plagued her beloved Master's mind, reached out eagerly to touch her's.
Because it felt familiar.*
What did you see?..... In the tower?
*Clare almost jolted at the sound of someone else entering the room, and had to peer hard at the strange snake like creature who slithered his way into the medical room. She blinked a few times, blushing after realizing she was indeed staring. Looking away, she found herself looking at Clem, quietly as he began to attach his legs back to his body. The second one -the one the team here had made- looked rather well done, professional. She'd heard about the Cloning and other medical procedures the Jedi here performed, but really, she'd only seen this base as a place to learn about the planet. Yet somewhere able to handle the riggers of wilderness this planet had to offer. Not, a place of strange magic wielding people.
And she was still denying it actually. All the telekinesis was a bit too much for her, and yet, it was all she'd seen of force use. Clare had a lot to learn.
But she could distract herself from that for now. Clem had both his legs back and he could walk. Now to work on his eyes. She found herself wanting him to see more and more for some reason, and she wasn't completely sure if it was only for his sake either. But she didn't want to admit to really wanting him to know what she looked like, because she honestly didn't know why that was so important to her.
Then again, maybe she felt that it was important to him....also.*
This is wonderful Clem! Now I um.... won't trip up and send you flying through a room again...
*She managed not to stammer at the last bit, but the truth was, she still felt awful for messing up like that. It was stupid, utterly and completely stupid and her fault for paying attention. She looked over at the serpentine medic with a tilted head and smiled as nicely as she could at the strange creature. Being one who enjoyed biology, she thought she might have seen something like him before, but she couldn't for the life of her recall what they were called, and she wasn't about to ask either....in fact, she wasn't sure what to say to him. So she just looked at Clem, setting up, dangling his legs over the side of the bed, peering off with an eyeless gaze into nothing. Piece by piece, they were putting a man back together....a man she found herself becoming quite attached to.*
