*Hours pass. The surgery, even in this day and age, is intensive. It takes very careful work, and the slightest mistake could leave Brentaal IV without its great leader. But in the end, they were successful.
As the operating team leaves and the post op crew goes in, the head surgeon walks over to the boys. While not a clone, this doctor carries a lot of respect around the hospital, as noted by the way the clone soldiers and nurses ad hear to what he says.*=Head Surgeon=
It was rough boys, but we finished. Your father will be fine. For now, anyways.
=Dack=
What do you mean, for now?
=Head Surgeon=
I think you boys better come with me. This is a sensitive issue.
*He leads them to his office, bringing them to his desk. He taps a few buttons, plugs in his datapad, and brings up a picture of Malice. Spreading it out, he shows off a muscle lay out, a skeletal lay out, and an organ lay out.*
You're father's recent right with Ashrah has caused significant damage. But that's not what the main issue is. He's been in fights before, and received worst damage. I should know, I've been there. However something was different about this time. This time, your father had no connection to the Force.
=Wedge=
Well what would that do?
=Head Surgeon=
Well to a normal being, who could survive it, nothing. But to him, it drastically effects him. Your father could never survive to his age or do the things he does at his size. No human could. Even with the average height being six foot three inches and good size, humans can not go beyond seven feet without meeting serious complications. It puts too much strain on your body.
I believe that the Force was keeping your father's body intact, as well as aiding him in his fighting ability. There could be no other explanation for his large growth, not to mention his survival. In a sense, it was the only thing keeping him going. Without it, his body is deteriorating at a rapid rate. We estimate he will have three years or less to live if he doesn't change something.
*The mood of the room changed in a heartbeat. As the silence became deafening, all eyes were locked in on the doctor's face. Zakkeg was the first to speak, but he did it so quietly that an intern walking by the door nearly drowned him out.*=Zakkeg=
Three years?
=Head Surgeon=
That's if he goes into immediate retirement, begins treatment and rests. Knowing your dad, it's most likely going to be one.
=Tycho=
Is there a way to prolong it? Can we replace his body?
=Head Surgeon=
Through conventional means... no. His body would begin to fall apart in so many places that we couldn't keep up. And he can only take so many mechanical replacements before he rejects them too. As a doctor I think it is safe to say there are two options. First, and I have no idea how, get the Force returned to him...
=Zakkeg=
And the second?
=Head Surgeon=
The second... is extremely risky, and only theoretical as far as we know.
*He taps a few buttons on his desk, and brings up a document on a medical device. There is little writing next to it.*
We've only heard rumors about it. This is beyond the Mandalorian people's scientific range. In Mando'ade, it is essentially a device that taps into your brain, and downloads your thoughts and conscious into raw computer data. The device, from what our source tells us, can then transfer it into another body. That's as much as we know: not who built it, not who owns it, not even if it works. If you could get a hold of that machine, you could save your father, if not his body, and put him into another body. That, or you could, in theory, download him into a droid.
*As confusion set in on Tycho and Dack, Wedge and Duxn and the others look at one another with only determination in their eyes. Just then, a text message goes to every man's datapad.
Malice is awake.*
