Re: Cormond

Nope nothing right now as thats the down side to being a mercenary. Jobs can be hard to come by some times but that will give me enough time to prepare you for your first mission.

*This was true as Ghost has had been having trouble getting jobs lately but he had been well payed on one of his jobs and that should last him for a while. For now he just had to concentrate on making sure Aaliyah wouldn't die on her first mission plus get her some armor before that.*

Re: Cormond

*She nodded as she looked around again*
So how often do you travel around, and how exactly do you get your jobs?
*She had always just done jobs with the pirates, but never learned how in the world they got jobs, and it was even more confusing on how a mercenary would get jobs. It obviously wasn't like putting in a application into a place to work, it had to be underhand and sneaky meetings that got you jobs, and probably large payments depending on the job. Which would explain how he would have gotten all this stuff*

Re: Cormond

I get my jobs through contacts most of which I don't think are around anymore but I have few left. They normally contact me when they have a job for me that or one of them had told a person about me and they contact me. On the rare occasion I run into someone who wants to hire me the minute they find out I'm a mercenary.

*Ghost then gets an Idea as it was time Aaliyah proved herself further an dnow he could see if she really was a good pilot. He knew where he could get a set of armor for her as there were many places where you could go but not all would give you modifications to the armor or things to modifiy it with.*

Well lets see those piloting skills of yours. *Ghost getured towards the cockpit where he was going to get Aaliyah to pilot the ship.*

Re: Cormond

*She walks forward to the cockpit of the ship.*Piloting she was good at, but she had never flown this ship and she was already nervous enough about trying to impress this man enough. She wanted to show him she didn't need protection. She had always been pretty independent.* She arrived at the cockpit and took a seat at the controls and began to look them over.*This was definitely different than what she was used to piloting, it had guns which was new for she had mostly only flown shuttles, and it seemed to be able to maneuver much better than the ships she had flown. Over all it seemed for of a fighting vessel to her than a shuttle or freighter. The controls were different, but adapting to them didn't take her too long*She leaned over and flipped up a switch and the ship jolted to life with a low hum. *It definitely sounded much better than the last ship she had flown, which was basically falling apart.* She hit another button and the ship lifted off the ground slowly and smoothly, she held the steering column firmly with her hands, pushed the throttle forwards slowly and only a bit and guided the ship up away from the space port. She angled it out towards the sky, aiming to set the ship into a orbit till she was ready to jump to where they were going*
So where are we heading?

Re: Cormond

Tatooine

*Ghost watched what Aaliyah was doing from the co-pilot seat and he had noticed how she seemed to hesitate at first. He was starting to think she hadn't flown before but then he started to flip switches and got the ship running. Soon they were off towards orbit and Ghost had to admit maybe she had some skill in flying but he was sure she couldn't fly it in a fight.*

*As Malice saw the new person arrive, he was distracted at that moment about some battle reports coming in. So he let Ghost go. He did catch the chip and look at the number. Taking another look at him, Malice decided to save it. It could be useful.

Grabbing the Lieutenant on the way out, they both headed back to the mansion.*

Re: Cormond

*They headed back, talking about this and that. He was about to ask about what his sons were doing when he was sent a private message. It contained only a few lines, but it was enough that Malice had to slap his friend on the back and wish him well, he was off again. He proceeded up the stairs of his house, dropping by his room first.

He opened the large wooden doors, imported from Mandalore. Closing them behind him, he proceeded to his large walk in closet. Switching on the lights, it revealed three walls, almost bare of clothing. There were military uniforms on one side, some cloaks on the other, blue denim jeans and t shirts on the far wall. He threw the walking around clothes and two cloaks on to his bed, and went back inside. Hitting another switch, the walls began to move. The floor pulled away, and the wall rotated a whole 180 degrees. Once done, they revealed a completely different room: weapons of all kinds were along the far wall, ranging from hold out blasters to a PLX-4 missile launcher. The wall to the left had a few goodies as well: armor augments, a stealth field generator and random equipment including a surface-to-orbit communicater, a heavy trauma med case, and a wide assortment of flares. The last wall revealed only two sets of armor. One was his old Boba Fett style armor. It had served him well in its day. The other was his decorative armor, for major ceremonies. It was pure beskar, polished to a nice finish, and had no weapon attachments on it. This he had rarely worn, but it still looked and worked just fine. Grabbing a few knives, a Mandalorian Assault Rifle and a few stun grenades, he threw them on the bed as well. He also grabbed the equipment from the wall, then turned the switch back, resetting the walls.

A few orders later and it was sitting in his shuttle, awaiting his departure. His last item, which some thought strange, was his request for a normal set of Mandalorian armor. Not Marauder issue, but a normal set. While strange, they were carried out at once. 20 minutes later, a complete set, in Boba Fett style was waiting for him, brought up from storage in one of the armories nearby. The armor had belonged to a Mandalorian who worked for the evil Prudii, when that sorry excuse for a Mando took the helm and had tried to station troops here. It was navy blue, and was fully functional, except for the hole in the neck where a Marauder had knifed the poor rodder during the revolt. Malice smiled upon seeing it, which reminded him of good times. Then, after he packaged it and put it in his ship, he took off into the evening sky.*

*Joyful jubilation takes hold in the city as word spreads of greats news from Mandalore: Malice is Mandalore.

The people rejoice with the news. What untold benefits would they receive? Would things change for him? Caution or worry is deafened by happiness.*

Re: Cormond

*From outer atmosphere the bes'uliik is coming in hard. Going far faster than it should be, the pilot has nearly lost control. In a last ditch effort the pilot tears back on the control stick and kills the engines. This causes the ship to slow down and glide towards the landing strip. Unfortunately as it lands he was unable to engage the landing legs, and the bird crashes against the ground. It moves forward a hundred feet, turns and begins to roll. After three rolls it stops, top down, with smoke billowing out of it.

Emergency crews rush to the scene, prepared for any fires. Opening the cockpit the worst fears are confirmed: it is Malice Hingang.

As they pull him out he is unresponsive. They immediately throw him into an ambulance and rush to the military hospital. On the way there his sons are notified. In a mad rush they fly over to the hospital to meet him.

Ten minutes later he is on a crash cart with wires sticking out of him and a team of doctors rushing to the scene. His five adopted sons are right behind him, field gear armed and ready. The best doctors and surgeons in the city are brought in, but the situation is dire. His pulse has begun to fail, and they can barely keep enough blood inside of him. Suddenly, he flat lines.*

=Doctor=
We need a shock! Hit him!

=Nurse=
CLEAR!

*The shock hits him, causing his body to shake a little, but he is still flat lining.*

=Doctor=
Hit him again!

=Nurse=
CLEAR!

*Still, the shock does nothing.*

=Zakkeg=
OUT OF THE WAY!

*Tearing off his right gauntlet he summons up a massive Force lightening charge. Waiting five whole seconds for it to charge, he slams his open palm over Malice's chest. With enough force for three men, the attack causes Malice's body to jerk, resetting his heart.

It is a tense moment as everyone watches. The heart beat, while back, is still weak. With a nod Zakkeg sends the doctors back to work, who rush him off to the operating room. Another team arrives with several crates marked biohazard: they are replacement organs. With nothing else to do, the boys find a group of chairs in front of the room and sit down.

And wait.*

Re: Cormond

*Hours pass. The surgery, even in this day and age, is intensive. It takes very careful work, and the slightest mistake could leave Brentaal IV without its great leader. But in the end, they were successful.

As the operating team leaves and the post op crew goes in, the head surgeon walks over to the boys. While not a clone, this doctor carries a lot of respect around the hospital, as noted by the way the clone soldiers and nurses ad hear to what he says.*

=Head Surgeon=
It was rough boys, but we finished. Your father will be fine. For now, anyways.

=Dack=
What do you mean, for now?

=Head Surgeon=
I think you boys better come with me. This is a sensitive issue.

*He leads them to his office, bringing them to his desk. He taps a few buttons, plugs in his datapad, and brings up a picture of Malice. Spreading it out, he shows off a muscle lay out, a skeletal lay out, and an organ lay out.*

You're father's recent right with Ashrah has caused significant damage. But that's not what the main issue is. He's been in fights before, and received worst damage. I should know, I've been there. However something was different about this time. This time, your father had no connection to the Force.

=Wedge=
Well what would that do?

=Head Surgeon=
Well to a normal being, who could survive it, nothing. But to him, it drastically effects him. Your father could never survive to his age or do the things he does at his size. No human could. Even with the average height being six foot three inches and good size, humans can not go beyond seven feet without meeting serious complications. It puts too much strain on your body.

I believe that the Force was keeping your father's body intact, as well as aiding him in his fighting ability. There could be no other explanation for his large growth, not to mention his survival. In a sense, it was the only thing keeping him going. Without it, his body is deteriorating at a rapid rate. We estimate he will have three years or less to live if he doesn't change something.

*The mood of the room changed in a heartbeat. As the silence became deafening, all eyes were locked in on the doctor's face. Zakkeg was the first to speak, but he did it so quietly that an intern walking by the door nearly drowned him out.*

=Zakkeg=
Three years?

=Head Surgeon=
That's if he goes into immediate retirement, begins treatment and rests. Knowing your dad, it's most likely going to be one.

=Tycho=
Is there a way to prolong it? Can we replace his body?

=Head Surgeon=
Through conventional means... no. His body would begin to fall apart in so many places that we couldn't keep up. And he can only take so many mechanical replacements before he rejects them too. As a doctor I think it is safe to say there are two options. First, and I have no idea how, get the Force returned to him...

=Zakkeg=
And the second?

=Head Surgeon=
The second... is extremely risky, and only theoretical as far as we know.

*He taps a few buttons on his desk, and brings up a document on a medical device. There is little writing next to it.*

We've only heard rumors about it. This is beyond the Mandalorian people's scientific range. In Mando'ade, it is essentially a device that taps into your brain, and downloads your thoughts and conscious into raw computer data. The device, from what our source tells us, can then transfer it into another body. That's as much as we know: not who built it, not who owns it, not even if it works. If you could get a hold of that machine, you could save your father, if not his body, and put him into another body. That, or you could, in theory, download him into a droid.

*As confusion set in on Tycho and Dack, Wedge and Duxn and the others look at one another with only determination in their eyes. Just then, a text message goes to every man's datapad.

Malice is awake.*
