Re: Dreshdae

*Cerberus sneered, the boy was a coward, or just sensible, either way, he was Nexus' to deal with. The sith lord stepped forward, though not within striking range.*

"Give me your weapons, then we move."

*One soldier stepped forward with stun cuffs, but Cerberus gave the man a sideways glance, they were useless against the boy. Stepping close, Lord Cerberus revealed that he was quite a large man, though a dwarf in comparison to his master.*

Re: Dreshdae

He unclipped the lightsabers on his belt and gave it to the Sith Lord. He wasn't afraid of him, he was just afraid of being killed. Besides, he hadn't even learned how to duel with a lightsaber, so there really wasn't a reason to duel the man, even with his current injuries.

Re: Dreshdae

*Lord Cerberus looked at the lightsabers, examining them for a moment before stepping back. He examined the boy once again, smirking slightly.*

"Follow me."

*With the command, Lord Cerberus turned and began walking. The soldiers dispersed, returning to their duties. The ship remained locked under the tractor beam. The sith guided the boy through the facility that was Dreshdae, it was a mad house with construction everywhere. Soldiers marched through out the halls, forcing civilians to keep to the sides as they did their business.

When they finally reached the entrance, Lord Cerberus put in a code which opened the doors to Dreshdae, letting in the stale hot air of the desert planet. Lord Cerberus crossed the threshold with ease, marching down the ramp to the monolith that was the sith academy.*

Re: Dreshdae

*The small cargo hauler, the Nova, settled down gently into its designated landing space in Dreshdae's public spaceport. The ramp of the ship slowly extended down and six sailors disembarked, most lugging some kind of cargo with them. For the next hour, they systematically unloaded all of the supplies that they had on board, stacking the crates into an ever-growing pile near their freighter. It was hard work and they were soon drenched in sweat. To use one of the spaceport's mechanical unloaders you had to rent it, and the captain was, if not a miser, stingy at best.*

*They did finish, however, and took seats near and on the boxes they had just unloaded. The majority lit up cigarras or popped open flasks and indulged themselves in their vice as a reward for a job well done. The next phase of their work, though, would be even harder, as when the right shuttle arrived, they would have to load the supplies onto the ship of the man who had purchased the cargo.*

*Nobody was thinking of that now, though. No, there thoughts were on the city of Dreshdae, and of the vast amounts of credits that they, with nothing to buy, had eventually accumulated during their long stretches of time out in space. Now that they were ashore, they meant to spend vast amounts of their monetary wealth on various sundry goods and services.*

*All of that was interrupted, though, when there came a slight knock from one of the boxes in the pile. At first, most assumed that someone had accidentally bumped it, but the sound came again. Upon closer inspection, it was found that the sound was coming from inside the box. Curious, they gathered around.*

-Sailor-
"Go on, Jerry, open it."

-Jerry-
"Hell no. There's probably a gorram mynock in there. You open it!"

*The first sailor raised his hands as if to ward off the very notion. He opened his mouth to protest, but at that moment, the captain, a big bear of a man named Victor, approached, his face in its perpetually stern expression.*

-Victor-
"What the hell is goin' on 'round here?"

-Jerry-
*He pointed to the box in question.* "There's something in that cargo box, sir."

*Victor rubbed at the massive beard covering the lower portion of his face and then stepped forward. The crowd of sailors parted for him, eager to stay out of his way, and he placed both hands on the lid of the box and broke the seal. Peering inside, his face took on first an expression of shock, and then one of amusement mixed with a hint of anger. With a shake of his head, Victor flipped the box onto its side. A young boy, no more than fourteen, spilled out.*

*Dressed in beggar's clothes, his white unkempt hair and light, silver eyes marking him as a near-human, the boy scrambled to his feet and attempted to run. Too late--Victor snatched the boy's wrist in one powerful hand and yanked him back, nearly ripping off his arm in the process. Holding on tight, Victor leaned forward.*

-Victor-
"Looks like we've got a stowaway, boys."

*Seto had never been so scared in his life. He'd only stowed away aboard the freighter so as to escape th pit of excrement that most called the Smuggler's Moon, and now he was about to get crushed to death by an angry looking giant. He once more tried to pull away, but there was no fighting the massive strength of the ship captain. He looked around at the unforgiving eyes of the other crewmembers and flinched.*

-Seto-
"Look, I'm sorry, alright?! Just let me go."

*Unfortunately for Seto, Victor could spot a punk when he saw one. When he removed the shiv from his boot, he had no intention to actually hurt the kid. However, he thought that a good scare might do him good and maybe prevent him from pulling a stunt like this again. Hell, the kid kind of reminded him of himself when he'd been a whole hell of a lot younger.*

*But Seto didn't know that Victor was trying to look out for him. All he saw was the angry face of a man twice his height and three times his girth, wielding a shining knife that was getting closer and closer to him. Panicking, Seto took a step back and then thrust forward with his right hand, intending to shove the big man back. But as his palm connected with the larger man's breast, something broke free, a burst of energy that was completely new and yet totally familiar to him.*

*Victor gave a shout of surprise and flew backwards through the air, landing heavily on his back. His head cracked against the duracrete hard, and his eyes closed. Gasping, stunned, unable to grasp what had just happened, Seto stood stock still as six angry crewman advanced on him, eager for revenge.*

Re: Dreshdae

:: Kinrath A-34...Kinrath A-34...We have a disturbance in Public Docking Bay RX-9, please respond, over. ::

*It wasn't the request that woke the Dark Legionnaire from his boredom induced slumber, but rather it was the static that followed it. The harsh white noise knocked the man back into the pathetic reality of his job. He was on guard duty, at a space port, on a planet which had little to no commercial traffic. It was definitely an effective punishment for a seasoned soldier for dereliction of duty.

Rubbing his eyes groggily, then gripped the cold comm link receiver. Rubbing his eyes, he pressed the sending button.*

"This is Kinrath A-34. Please repeat."
*There was a pause, before the synthetic voice of the security network module responded, mimicking the previous message.*

:: Kinrath A-34...Kinrath A-34...We have a disturbance in Public Docking Bay RX-9, please respond, over. ::
*The soldier's heart jumped. Finally, some action. He pulled up the holo-screen, routing the security camera display to his screen. What he saw made his eyes widen. He happened to pull up the camera feed at the precise moment where a young boy sent a man flying backwards.*
*A force user? That was bad, the soldier could not have a force user run a rampage on his watch.*

*The soldier snapped up, shooting from his chair, running to the weapons rack. The soldier grabbed his rifle and ran out of the security center, using his personal comm link to request back up.*
:: This is Kinrath A-34...We have a disturbance in Public Docking Bay RX-9, a force user is present, I repeat, a force user is present. Assistance required, over. ::

*By the time the Legionnaire reached the main entrance to the docking bay, there were four other legionnaires waiting for him. He proceeded to the control panel, sliding an access card which opened the massive blast door. Then the soldiers poured in, weapons raised and ready.*

"Get on the ground, NOW!"
*Guns were trained both on the boy and on the sailors. This was definitely a delicate situation.*

Re: Dreshdae

*Seto stared down at his hand, still extended, in amazement. What had just happened? Was he responsible for what had transpired? What did it mean? And then the Legionnaires arrived, and they seemed to be in a foul mood. One shouted for everyone to get on the ground, and Seto dropped to his knees, and then flat down on his stomach. For good measure, he placed his hands up on the back of his head and closed his eyes. He was confused and terrified, and over it all he was still surging with that strange energy that had coursed through him just prior to when he had somehow launched that captain through the air.*

*Four of the sailors heeded the legionnaires warnings and dropped to the ground, shouting pacifying words and hoping to their deity that they wouldn't get gunned down by some trigger-happy soldiers who hadn't seen real action in far too long. Two of the crewman, though, weren't that smart. One pulled a blaster pistol--DL-18 model--from a holster on his hip and squeezed the trigger three times. The other simply bolted, heading towards the left with the intention of escaping any judicial repercussions the disturbance might cause.*

*Seto, from his place on the ground, simply waited to see what would happen.*

Re: Dreshdae

*Though many remarked on the intelligence of shipmen, they rarely compared it to the prowess of a fully trained soldier. Today was one of the occasions which revealed why. One crewman pulled out his weapon, which drastically changed the gravity of the situation. It went from a simple arrest to a firefight, though a massacre was a more accurate word for it.*

*The man managed to squeeze one blaster bolt, before being drowned in a sea of laser fire. There was barely anything left that could identify him as a humanoid as his charred corpse hit the ground. The opposing blaster bolt that was fired collided with the armor plate of the legionnaire, discharging without causing any harm.

The one man that attempted to flee was not going to be lucky, by any means. The Dark Legionnaires were not a peace keeping force in the general sense. They were hardened veterans of war, with little tolerance for out right defiance. The man's back was sprayed with lasers, forcing him to meet the similar fate of his colleagues.*

*After the blaster fire had stopped, and the room fell silent once again, the legionnaires returned their attention to the remainder of the crew, and their stow away.*
"Remain on the ground! If anyone so much as flinches, they will meet the fate of those two idiots."

*The dark legionnaires approached the group with stun cuffs, slapping them on every individual, before hauling them to a detention area.*

Re: Dreshdae

With his cowl pulled up, the shadows it created hiding his masked face, Shoikan wanders the streets of Dreshdae. There was no purpose behind the streets he chose, each intersection taken at random, more than willing to get lost in the metropolis and in the hustle and bustle of daily lives.

In most places, place of law and civilization, such a look would draw attention, whispers of wonder and of questions. Perhaps it would even draw an overly zealous guard or protector, intent on maintaining the peace and allowing no brokerage for shadowy presences.

But here, it was different. No one paid the slightest bit of attention and no one seemed to care. In fact, there were more than a few people who walked around with their faces obscured and hidden. No doubt seeking privacy while they carried out their tasks, whether it be mundane everyday tasks, or things of a more...sinister and deadly nature.

Stopping in a deep doorway, letting the shadows engulf his entire body, Shoikan pauses and looks out at the press of lifeforms passing him by. That there was so many people in Dreshdae did not surprise him, as he knew that not only was it the capitol of Korriban, but also pretty much the only city that was inhabited.

As he watched the life filter by, Shoikan watches as he always does when he visits foreign world. The inquisitive streak that was his heritage always making him learn and grow. It was not a bad thing and it was not something he fought, having found out long ago, the more he watched and learned, the more things he picked up on. Things that most people would take for granted and would overlook.

It was as he was watching people he began to notice that there seemed to be more than a few younglings with the spark of the dark burning in their breasts. It would not be something anyone who was not a Force sensitive would feel and even then, most of those than could feel it, might simple not acknowledge it.

With a mental smug grin, Shoikan steps out of the doorway, and begins to walk down the street, his eyes on the look out for a likely place to conduct his business. If he was correct in his assumptions, there should not be one too far away. He could use the Force to confirm his feelings now, but not only was that risky in his present location, it would also not be much fun either.

He would do it without the manipulation the Force for now. Willing to let himself be guided by the flow, instead of him guiding it. But he knew deep down, that his chances of finding what he was here for had sharply risen and that this trip should prove most profitable.

His ship landed at the dreshdae and he could feel the shroud getting heavier like a cloud of fog decieving his judgement of sight. He stepped out of his ship then left for the Sith academy as intended after departure from coruscant.

He didn't waste his time so he headed directly to his ship then took off for korribans orbit.

*It wasn't long before she found the city, her hunting skills drawing her to the population like a shark to blood. She drifted through the streets, knowing full well she would need a force user. She tapped out into the force, trying her best to avoid the target Nexus had prohibited. It was hard, the energy of the planet was potent and made everyone feel the same to her. She would need time to pick out individuals by hand, and the longer she waited, the more chance she had of losing herself to her instinct.*

*Coming in from orbit, Hrowl made his way to the outskirts of the city. He wans't one for ports, anxious that someone would try to steal his property while taking confidence in others, and he had done this before only further out into the terrain of the planet the last few times he came to Korriban. The TIE Avenger landed, and then Hrowl made his way out of the ship after taking only his knives and pistols on his person, locking the ship up and turning on the electrified hull in case any wanderers had taken an interest in his vessel. He walked into the city and kept his eyes open, uncomfortable being there where he heard so many Sith reside considering his history with a Sith employer. He still needed work, and he wanted to be rid of his fighter class ship for something more spacious to fit his own preferences. Going towards the tavern, he thought that he could stand to have at least something to settle his nerves, and the name of the tavern was humorous enough to get him a head start. "The Drunk Side".*

They exchanged very little pleasentries and Ajax paid his landing fees. Once he had everything in order, he mounted his FC-20 and took off out of Dreshdae towards the Valley of the Dark Lords.*

*After his trip into the cantina, Hrowl had wandered around the city to find anyone who was willing to hire him. A couple run in's with thieves, breaking their arms and leaving them on the street for taking his things, left him with more fear stricken faces than willing employers. Hours pass, and he was at his limit of trying to sell his services to those who wouldn't pay well or just turned him away for his feral appearance. For a bit, he shopped around for spacious shuttles or ships that could accomidate his size and need to roam around during long flights, but he came across nothing. Once done with one trip through the city and skimming the shops, he starts his way towards the Sith Academy, cursing his unfortunate desposition that left him on his knees and seeking work from a Sith benefactor all over again.*

Re: Dreshdae

*It had been long years since the old Sith had been on Korriban. As he walked the dusty, dilapidated, deserted streets of Dreshdae, he contemplated the dark power that infused this world. A younger, less experienced, less in control Sith might have allowed it to freely infuse him, allowing themselves to be lost in the darkness even as they were intoxicated and seduced by its malicious whisper. Vesull wasn't young. When he had been, he'd felt the power within himself, even as a child. Even then he'd known he wasn't quite ordinary, and would never be. Now, he knew who and what he was, and that unshakeable confidence borne of years of study and practice of the dark arts infused his very being. Vesull's aura blazed, as he allowed the constraints he put on his presence to relax, bathing the surrounding area in a maelstrom of cold, dark, Force energy. His eyes glowed a sick yellow as he passed shops, offices and private residences.*

*The old man walked with the aid of a hardwood cane. Far from being feeble, he'd affected the repose of a decrepit elderly man whose brains had begun to soften some decades back. Though he was now considered elderly by galactic standards, the Dark Side of the Force was within him, and he was far from feeble. Had he been of a mind, he could have levitated down the dim streets of Korriban's capital city, but that sort of display wasn't something he made a practise of. His cane clicking on the paving stones, the black robed and hooded Vesull walked onerously on through the deepening gloom towards the center of town.*

*Screeching through the air, the Fury-class Starfighter enters the airspace around Dreshdae. It is the first time Diabolus has entered the Sith homeworld called Korriban, but it definitely will not be the last. Barrel rolling the fighter flips down toward the ground and levels back the correct way. Slowing down the ship enters the area that contains the hangar bays. Within a minute the starfighter has landed and the cockpit will open.*

*Exiting the starfighter, I land feet first in a theatre display of my cloak. My hood covers my head and the mask that covers my face, my muscular frame obvious even under the light armour that is worn. Only my lightsabers are attached to my belt, no other weaponry. It is all I will need here. Silently I step into the Main Building that connects with the hangar, my eyes peeled for what I will see. My nose reeling for the scents, not average being can smell.*

Re: Dreshdae

-- to facilitate the expediency of the SL, this little interlude between Kaine and Vesull is a closed SL. --

*General Kaine Australis had, very reluctantly, it must be said, set his shuttle down on the Sith world of Korriban. Having been here before and hated it, mainly due to the overbearing presence of the Dark Side here that even someone without the Force could sense. But the trace from Darkara, his niece and head of his Intel network had been top priority. A confirmed sighting of Darth Vesull, Kaine's father. They'd tracked him from Coruscant to Bakura, Tatooine, Nal Hutta, Borleias, and then finally Empress Teta. Then they followed him all the way along the Daragon Trail to Korriban.

A local agent had spotted the old Sith at the spaceport, and relayed the location through Darkara to Kaine. It hadn't taken him long to find his father. The old man looked as decrepit as his soul. Kaine knew that was probably not the case. He readied his array of weapons as he approached.*

*Kaine kept his right hand on the hilt of his Beskad as he approached the hooded and robed Sith. The area around them was a small square a dozen meters across in between low, flat-roofed houses. The area was nice and deserted, though the wind howled and blew dust freely across the stones.*

*The man in front of Kaine was he who had sired him, then abandoned his mother for sixteen years before returning and training his son. Then when Kaine had rejected him, he'd tried to kill him, and had almost succeeded. Only Kaine's proficiency and youth, combined with not a small amount of luck had kept him from the Manda. This time, he was ready, not the blind confidence of a precocious sixteen-year-old, but the grim determination of a warrior whose next birthday would put him at half a century.

This time, he would rid the galaxy of his father, and maybe put some of his inner demons to rest. That, he felt, would be worth it.*

Hello, Darth Dad. *His body relaxed into a ready stance, he knew his father, Darth Vesull, was capable of anything.*

Re: Dreshdae

*Vesull whirled around at the sound of that voice. He knew well the voice of his son. He flicked back the hood of his robe with a gnarled looking hand as his yellow eyes bored into the implacable T-Visor of the Mandalorian's helmet. The old Sith let the lightsaber at his belt come away and rise into his hand, though he left it unlit. He watched to see what Kaine would do.*

*There was plenty of information out there on Kaine Australis as he called himself. Vesull didn't know where he got the name from, probably something to do with his mother and those blasted Mandalorians. He'd thought the revelations of the power of the Sith way would sway his son to the Grand Plan. Instead the boy had defied him again and again, and finally thrown a challenge into his sire's teeth by shooting a blaster at him. Vesull remembered deflecting the bolt into Kaine, then blasting the boy across the room with Force Lightning. Reminding himself not to try the same tactic again, Vesull let the palpable Dark Side energy of Korriban soak into him, even as he brought his will to bear on it.*

It took thirty four years to find me and try again, boy. Are you sure you are ready this time?

*Even as Vesull spoke, he flicked the fingers of the hand which wasn't holding the lightsaber, and sent a powerful surge of invisible Dark Side energy at the vulnerable of Kaine's beskar'gam.* *Proofing things against EMP is not proof against the Force. His boy was about to learn a lesson about the drawbacks of such a mundane existence as the Mandalorians had.*

What will you do now, I wonder? *His voice took on a mocking tone.*

*Kaine experienced a cold, shocking sensation across his skin as the light in his HUD died, and sparks sizzled from the various conduits connecting the components of his Beskar'gam. Cursing himself for a thrice-damned fool, even as his vision began to darken ominously, he smartly drew his Cherub II pistol from his left holster and fired it at Vesull.

Absolutely nothing happened.

Kaine felt a cold dread in the pit of his gut. A feeling like he was now wearing a set of armour plates with some very destroyed tech attached to it, and that anything on his person with an ounce of tech in it was now kaput. He quickly dropped the pistol and reached up to unseal his buy'ce, which he also discarded. The helmet was nice, but he couldnt see out of it with the visor completely opaqued.

The Mando General drew his trusty beskad, the Mandalorian Iron sword he'd carried with honour for three decades and held it out low and right. Purposefully, he advanced on Darth Vesull.*

Time to die, old man.

*Vesull waited until Kaine was within a meter before he ignited his lightsaber. He stepped toward Kaine and slashed at his head. He did so almost negligently, even as he called on the Dark Side of the Force to push Kaine to the ground.*

You have learned nothing, fool. *Vesull took another step toward Kaine, and in that moment, a vision of the future came to him, of his own death, here and now.*

*In the blink of an eye, Vesull saw Kaine rending the life from his body with that sword. The Grand Plan! But in the next instant he saw a way to achieve his own personal Grand Plan without sacrificing himself or his son here and now. Vesull began to draw the Dark Side fully into himself, using all his will, bending the power around his very soul.*
