Dragus wrote:*At the base.*

*A team of white plastoid armoured figures approached the gunships ramp as it descended. They numbered five in total, with four clearly being security personnel and the lead being an officer of some sort. The man at the head of the assembly was differently garbed, wearing a set of white combat fatigues with a majors insignia pinned on the front lapel of his winterized coat. The party stopped several feet from the ramp and held position. The Major's right brow rose with intrigue as he eyed the new arrival.*

*This diplomat didn't seem to fit the appearance of what he was expecting. To be fair though, he was associated with the galaxies most notorious criminal gang. Some concessions had to be extended.*

Sven Brunner: "Greetings, Diplomat Prowler. I am Major Brunner, the Order's overseer of Echo Base. If it pleases you, we will retire to the board room for some refreshments. Lord Dragus is slightly delayed, though he should be here shortly enough."

*The Major motioned for Dash to follow him down the nearest ice lined corridor.*

*Prowler nodded respectfully to the Major Brunner and followed him down the corridor to their destination, assumedly the board room. He had no idea what to expect from Hoth, or this Lord Dragus; but he was here to negotiate business terms, which was something he never had listed on his resume nor job description. But he knew well the goal of Black Sun and Gabriel Solomon, so his representation would be reasonable enough to line-up well with mutual decisions between the Black Sun Leader and Prowler.
Looking about the area, he made particular note of the fact that the place was cold. Very cold. Which should have come as no surprise, being as how the planet itself was, well, Hoth. But Prowler might have assumed a warmer base to be hosting the people on world, for the sake of comfort.*

"Well met, Major. I'm not in any hurry, I guess, so I have no trouble waiting."

Re: Echo Base

Fortunately Dragus had not considered Kaibur as an appetizer, yet. However, right now, Kaibur had something to hold on to. His devotion to the all seeing eye gave him what pathetic strenght he needed to try and heal himself using the Force. A slow bluish hue escaped his hand as he tried to mend what open wounds there were, to some avail the wounds, and the muscles closed their wounds and his life stopped seeping from the ground. Mending bones however, were of a much more energetic concern, and he needed more energy to fuel the fires to help him heal with the force. But the worst was over, as of now, and he could hopefully get that backup they all needed and get back to Echo.

<< Where the hell is the backup...Pick us up damnit.. >>

Kaibur's conscience spoke with a final heave before the message that was broadcasted through the minds of every human and non human form in Hoth gave out as Kaibur's force healing forced him to a deeper sleep.

======================================

Jagwa's tribe had now been mustered, a full 600 Strong and stout Skel warriors, all armed to the extent that such pitiful species as they could be armed, clubs, maces, daggers and slings with plenty of hard Ice ammunition for the ice throwers. Thugbar, the new leader of the tribe, squealed to the large gathering of Skels about "Attacking the Heart of the Gray Tribesmen" Whatever that mean Jagwa knew not. But these, Gray clad folk were certainly not feeble, Jagwa had personally scene a group of no less than 50 wipe out Uktuk and his Warband, Jagwa had been a witness to the massacre.

But Thugbar was old, old beyond ancient Skel, and he had knowledge of secret passageways under Echo Base, which the Skels had named Akaba "The Palace of Warmth and many foods" Jagwa had heard of such fanciful tales, tall folk living in a palace of bright Ice crystals that shone yellow, illuminating their way, their food so warm and juicy that meats melted in your mouths. With tunnels that stretched from here to there, some say all the way to Clabburn mountain, but that was silly, for what club did the Grey folk posses that could borrow under the mountains? Foolish tales indeed

Such tales often wetted Jagwas snout indeed, the food anyway. But such tales too were considered disastrous to go to. The Palace was not just a house of the Grey People, but a fortress, for as Thugbar said, they have large Grey arms that spurted terrifying bright lights that ended the inner warmth in the Skel. Jagwa had already told his terrifying story of that, first hand. Thugbar spoke more, and this time, the young Jagwa listened very intently....

Under the hidden mountains of the far mountain ranges of Hoth, the Skel planned and waited.

Re: Echo Base

While the 409th were not force sensitive, they each felt more than heard the urge to rescue the downed pilot and to quickly head from this location.
Dragoon Six-Five turned to the Famine Lord and spoke, hoping that he was not talking out of place in addressing the High Lord directly.

::M'Lord, we need to get that pilot to safety and return to base. Whatever scared off those things isn't going to keep them away for forever. Besides, there are far worse creatures out and about here::

Six-Five hadn't so much wanted to act without orders but he knew that the survival of this pilot along with the survival of many more men and women of the Order depended on them getting out of there as soon as possible. Signaling to his men, Six-Five opened the internal comlink and gave the orders.

::Alright, let's lock this down. Hades Platoon, secure the pilot. Tartarus and Sheol Platoons on me. We're Oscar Mike::

Re: Echo Base

*Moments before riding off into the storm.*

*Dragus regarded Dragoon Six-Five snidely, his lip curling in distaste at the countless number of demands pressed upon him.* *Even for a High Lord among the Order, this was beginning to get ridiculous. Clearly he had overextended himself and was now suffering the effects of that. It had been utterly foolish of him to even come to Hoth without a retinue of his Dark Acolytes to manage the smaller tasks such as this.* *He waved his hand in an exasperate gesture, motioning for the soldier to continue.*

"Do what you must. See if the pilot can be salvaged, though if not, bring his corpse back to the base for further examination. Even in death he may still be of some value."

*And with that he was off, disappearing into the blizzard, leaving his second mount behind should the beast of burden be required.*

==================================================

*Several minutes later and roughly three kilometers away.*

*A sensation prickled the back of the Famine Lord's mind as an invasive voice made itself known. Carried aloft the winds of the Force, Dragus heard Kaibur's undirected plea. Despite this, the Tauntaun under his command didn't slow, nor did he make any attempt to turn about and return to the scene of conflict.*

*Bel'al and the 409th were there, more than sufficient to rescue the man and return him to the base. The pilots survival would be of greater benefit to Dragus than his death, though there was another pawn on the playing field of even greater value. The Sith assumed his Shadow still possessed his living parcel, snatched from the lair of the Wendel and soon to be brought under thorough scientific examination. The potential for breeding perfection was so very near, almost palpable.*

*Upon arriving at the base he wasted little time dismounting from his Tauntaun. The creature panted heavily, nearly dead from fatigue and chilled to the bone. Leaving it in the hangar for one of the stable hands to attend to, Dragus proceeded to the boardroom where Dash Prowler and the Major were already waiting. With the poise of a noble and the gusto of a man possessed, the Sith strode into the room and greeted the Black Suns representative.*

*Still garbed in white robes, the Famine Lord's attire matched the snow walls of the facility. To those without a sensitivity to the Force, he wouldn't have cut an imposing figure. Even standing at just over six feet in height, his frame with lithe, almost appearing frail. The only flesh visible were the gaunt features of his face, revealing skin pale to the point of seeming sickly.*

*He made no attempt to extend a hand or offer a gesture of friendship and welcoming. Instead he addressed the criminal representative with the same cruel and unpleasant demeanor that he treated everyone. His voice came across raspy and dispassionate.*

"I was of the impression that Black Sun had disbanded. It's been years since the Order has heard any word of your activities, and our resources are vast. You're either beneath recognition or very good at what you do. I am hoping it is the latter, though that remains to be seen. Please, have a seat. I've been led to believe that you are here to offer a proposal." *He gestured with a raised index finger.* "A caution. I am duty bound to hear you out for the sake of my Order, but it is by my will alone that a deal might be brokered."

Re: Echo Base

*Prowler himself kept up an indifferent demeanor upon the arrival of Lord Dragus. Being the soldier that he was, he'd seen some crazy sithspit in the Galaxy. People suffering physical losses during combat and never appearing or acting the same again. But this man seemed very much unlike anything the young Soldier now playing the role of Diplomat had ever seen. But that was neither here nor there, and so when instructed, he took a seat, and answered according to business protocol and little else.*

"Black Sun has been revived, my Lord, under one Gabriel Solomon. It is a young and growing creature, but in order to become the power it once was, it will need to expand it's... elbow room."

*Prowler spoke with an eloquent vocabulary, but his speech was slowed so that he would remember to sound polite with every word. Though this made it seem almost as if he were trying to think of each individual word just before he spoke it.*

"With this goal in mind, we're looking for more clientele; bigger clientele, if you will. To say that the New Order of the Eye is large would be an understatement, and Black Sun needs allies, as well I'd imagine the NOE could make use of our services as well. Smuggling, information brokering, assassinations; essentially any hand-dirtying tasks of the like. The Black Sun Crime Syndicate is on the rise to make it's name known again, and I am extending to you a business arrangement between our factions, furthering out goals while at the same time attending to those of the NOE."

Re: Echo Base

*A gloved hand ran under the Famine Lord's face, lightly stroking his chin. Thin lips pursed, while his brow began to furrow. Silence filled the gap after Dash finished speaking. Dragus was clearly considering the proposal. After a moment he broke that silence and spoke evenly.*

"Ah, ambition. This I understand."

*A wicked grin flashed across his features, though only for a moment. His face soon returned to a calm and dispassionate state of being, while his words droned on like the prattle of a true zealot.*

"It seems clear to me that the goals of those we serve are not the same; however, they are also not at odds. I will not trouble you with details of my Order's righteous purpose, but some things do need to be explained so that we might better understand one another. As you may know..." *He paused to consider his words, then continued.* "As the entire galaxy knows, my Order is at odds with the numerous flocks of heathens and heretics that plague this galaxy. We fight a holy war against the Jedi, a war of superiority against the Mandalorians, and a war of necessity with the remainder. Often we are successful, the Eye wills it to be so because those of my Order are its champions, the blessed few trusted to act as its hand. However, blessed though we may be, victory is sometimes short of our grasp. Our methods are obvious, for the Order fears nothing and no one." *His eyes seemed to come alive, as though his fanatic fever sought to escape his soul.* "We are a prideful people, and perhaps that is our failing. I know not, though it causes me despair all the same."

*Rising from his seat, he began to pace the length of the room. His right arm slid behind his back and bent at the elbow, while his left arm rose and gestured frantically as he spoke with both mouth and hand.*

"New methods, untried and nontraditional, that is what we require. Yet to sink to such low tactics?" *He shook his head distastefully.* "I would not sully the hands of even the lowliest acolyte in the Order with such deeds. That is why the Eye has sent us you and your organization. Smuggling, information brokering, and assassination are all tasks that fill the role of unfavorable and untried tactics. Why crush the Jedi's body in battle when you can whither away their spirit by dispensing vice to the people they claim to protect? Why fight tooth and nail when arms and cause can be supplied to the people of ones foe, then turned upon one another for foolish purpose? Why spend years engaged in war when the death of one man can potentially stall everything? Yes. Even as distasteful as I find such things, I can see the value in pursuing them for the sake of our greater and more noble goal."

*Returning to his seat, his raving momentarily subsided, Dragus poised the all important question.*

"I agree that Black Sun could be very useful to the Order of the Eye and would be interested in acquiring its services for a wide variety of tasks. Yet before I can accept on behalf of the Order, I must ask, what does Black Sun want in return?"

*Kaibur who could not defend himself, was now thrown unceremoniously backward, the body spun in a soft low spin and landed harshly in the snow. The Captain, Kaibur, lay there, unconscious, his red hair falling all over him. Kaibur had now suffered 80% Severe Frostbite throughout his body, and it was only thanks to the Force and wisdom of the All-seeing eye that kept him from actually dying. Snow melted around him as the force kept him alive, but just barely. If the 409th did not get here soon, then Kaibur might as well be already frozen.*

*Jagwa and his tribe, a tribe of 600 strong Skelish Warriors, had sent messangers to other tribesmen, cooing words of eternal friendship and alliances and counter alliances that gave Jagwa's tribe the most power. By now, Thugbar, the leader of Jagwa's tribe had amassed a huge amount of support from the other Skel tribes, promising thousands upon thousands of Skel Warriors and their Wampa beast slaves, some offered Ice Bat Riders and others offered Tauntaun Cavalry. Thugbar had now become the unofficial Warlord of the entire Skel nation! THe tribes had already sent their soldiers, which would get here in a matter of days. In total, Thugbar had an army capable of assaulting Akaba, which in Skel meant "The Palace of Wamrth and Food" which in their brutish language could only describe Echo Base.

Jagwa had doubts...assaulting Akaba? The Fortress of the grey armored warriors? This was madness! But as he voiced his concern with Thugbar, the old leader only replied.

"Madness?? This is for our survival young blood...And we make war!"*

*Outside the doors of the Base*

*A figure broke through the snowy wind from the north. His body weak from exhaustion and his form slouched from hours in the elements. Victor Stormcrow had finally arrived at Echo Base. He approached carefully, his hand hovering over his blade, ready for an attack. He reached the perimeter of the base and stopped for a moment, checking the surroundings with a keen eye. He could feel his body going numb, wet and cold he squinted through fogged goggles at the base walls and door. He approached with a careful stride*

*Though Lord Dragus was currently occupied with a meeting taking place within the base, thus ignorant to the melodic tunes cast out through the Force, his Dark Acolyte Caspian Knowles was not so occupied.*

*Still within the genetics research laboratory in the base, the fair skinned human seated at a desk and studying a computer console feverishly, looked up and raised his right brow. His head turned from side to side, looking for whom the voice belonged to. He knew without a doubt that he had heard something, but there was no one in sight that could have voiced themselves in an audible manner.*

*There was something about the tone though, like echoing through an ice cavern on M'haeli. Immediately he recognized it for what it was, having a fairly competent understanding of telepathy. After all, those within the Order of the Eye were quite proficient at its use, uncommonly so even.*

*Extending his senses, Caspian reached out with his mind and focused on the source. He found it shortly after, some distance away but not beyond the perimeter of Echo Base. He let his own thoughts and will become caught in the winds of the Force, cast towards Victor like the tune of a song.*

Caspian Knowles: << I hear you. >>

*He said no more, rising from his chair even as his last thought was cast out. Within seconds he was seen hurtling down the ice lined corridors of the base, heading towards the hangar where Tauntauns and access outside the base awaited. The silver hilt of his lightsaber hung loosely from his black belt, becoming visible as his dark Sith robes fluttered about his lean form.*

*Whether this was a Jedi or Sith, or even something entirely other then that, he knew not. Duty bound as he was to the Famine Lord, he would seek out those answers. If they were foe, they'd soon find themselves in peril. If friend, well, there was always use for another hand in these troubled times.*

The Dark Acolyte quickly mounted the creature and ran a black gloved hand across its mane of white fur. He then dug the heel of his reekskin leather boots in its sides and spurred it forwards. Mere moments later he departed the base's interior and headed outside.*

*Physically he couldn't see Victor, not through the snow storm that raged around the base and the area that surrounded it. With the Force however, using Stormcrow's telepathic urgings as a guide, he began to move in the right direction.* *A sneer formed on his face as he heard the mans plea.*

Caspian Knowles: << You ask for food and aid as though such things are offered freely. This is not the case. >>

*Caspian's Tauntaun whined as he pulled the reigns harder, guiding the beast of burden through the snow. Though he hadn't yet spotted Victor, he was drawing a great deal closer, his own Dark Side aura becoming plainly detectable through the Force.*

The NA-409th rushed in, passed the two combatants (Architect and PNVB), grabbed and secured the downed pilot and, hoisting him onto a medic-gurney took off back towards the Tauntaun mounts. Once they had hopped on, the undefeatable group of Death's Dragoons rushed off into the blizzard towards Echo Base. They would reach the base within 10 minutes. As soon as they arrived they would immerse the pilot into the bacta with no further delay.

*Caspian shook his head from side to side, clearly displeased at the way the conversation was developing. A moment later, both Acolyte and Tauntaun came into view of Victor. The Dark Side apostle of Dragus leered down from his mounted position, his face a mask of ire. With cruel lips and a foul tone, he addressed the stranded individual.*

Caspian Knowles: "Aid is not free because the Eye's children do not believe in charity. We seek only to assist our own, the strong and worthy. Lightening your purse is the least of our concerns."

*He jabbed his gloved right hand downwards, pointing accusingly at Victor with an extended index finger.*

Caspian Knowles: "Are you Jedi, or one of their ilk? Answer truthfully, for I shall know if you attempt to deceive me. But also answer wisely, for your life depends on your response."

*His wicked eyes so full of hate and disgust, he glared down at Victor, awaiting the mans reply.*

=============================================================

*Elsewhere in the base.*

*Officers scrambled as they sent our new orders and made preparations for the 409th's arrival. The transmission had come in loud and clear, causing the bases limited staff to prepare the infirmary as quick as possible. The medical supplies available were less so than found at other facilities within the borders of the Empire, but what little they had would be put to work. Fortune be it that a single Bacta Tank was available for use. One of the communications officers replied to the Death Dragoons over the same frequency they used to contact the base.*

Ted Bundy: :: Understood, Dragoon Six-Five. The infirmary on the west side of the base is being prepared to accept casualties. The tank will be ready by the time of your arrival. ::
