High Prefect, Subcommander Shedao Yim and I have been assigned to assist in our foot hold here and figured that you were currently the best man to see about operation status and what our current orders are. So, what is the current operation status and our current orders?

Re: Freedom City

Zekarwa-Xonri Kwaad boarded the Swoop Analog and directed TsaVong to the the Barrack Damutek which by now had been completed along with the Hanger Damutek and the Infidel housing. She spoke through her Villip as they flew through the city at breakneck speeds to the Supreme Commander. "Commander, the Infidel housing Damutek is up and functioning. I suggest you round up your slaves there. I shall have my shapers implant Yorik Coral there to ensure their loyality. Also, I would recommend setting a pass code on the membrane of the Damutek. This way when they try to escape, it is impossible." She then stopped speaking as they reached the barracks. She didn't even thank TsaVong as she entered the shaper barracks. Several Master shapers were lounging about and she immediately snapped at them. "Get out there! There is MUCH MUCH more to do! NOW! Report to the Infidel Housing! There's Yorik Coral implantations to do!" She stormed through the barracks till she reached her room. Immediately she sat down and started writing her report. She sighed as she worked massaging her eye with one hand as she committed her report to the biot. It read. 'Most Supreme Overlord, the Vongforming of Freedom City as the Infidels call it, is under good progress. We first were spotted in Orbit by the Infidel fleets which I percieved as knowing something about our arrival. The High Prefect got us on the ground where the real work began. I assume the High Prefect is establishing the Peace Brigade even as I make my report. The Infidel presence here was substantial as is the amount of heresy found here. Literally the piles of the heretical machines reach to the heavens. I have some doubts as to how much we can purge depending on how long we are here. However, it should be noted that I have established the basics of a base here. There are four Damuteks successfully planted here. The first is the Hanger, which will serve to bring in more creatures as needed as well as supply our troops. Secondly, Infidel Housing, this damutek is where we currently house those infidels who are captured. We will be using them for clearing areas of the city to speed up the Vongforming process. When they have outlived their usefulness, I will order them to be sacrificed for the continued success of our missions here as well as elsewhere. Thirdly, the Barracks. Here I have established the housing the troops already here, as well as the prefects, and the shapers. Each has a separate section with different pass codes to prevent the castes from intermingling. The final Damutek is the Provincial Government Damutek. Here all those Yuuzhan Vong administrators can carry out all the tasks needed to bring order to this planet. Finally, I am submitting the request that we deploy a final Damutek which will be located next to the barracks and house a World Brain. This damutek will have the full protection of the Warriors who will constantly monitor the Damutek. This damutek will also feature several different pass codes to prevent those without proper clearence from reaching the World Brain.' Affixed to this was the Master Shaper's special Seal. The biot entrusted with this report would be delivered to Senac who knew better than to pry into the doings of his master. She then placed a pass code upon the membrane that connected her chamber to the rest of the Shaper section of the Damutek meant for housing the Yuuzhan Vong. As she did so, she yawned. It'd been several days since she last slept. Two of her attendants who had accompanied her left the room when ordered to do so. She then stretched out on the floor and blissfully fell asleep.

The infidels of the city have been wiped out or enslaved and the only city containing infidels is the one owned by our peace brigadiers.

I will leave the ground forces here under your control, but you might want to find another subcommander or commander to assist in leading them. I would help you find them, but I am short on time. I expect to hear of no problems, understood?

Re: Freedom City

Zekarwa-Xonri Kwaad rose and checked the pouch she'd placed her report in. The Biot was still in place, after reading it over one more time, she resealed the Biot and decided that she'd better deliver the Biot in person to Senac, moving out of her chamber in the Housing Damutek, she started walking to the Hangar forgoing her bodyguard this time around. The infidels where working hard at clearing away the site for the World Brain as she'd ordered them to. She noted with satisfaction, that the Master Shapers placed in charge of implanting the Yorik-Coral within the Infidels were still hard at work. After a half an hour of walking, she reached the Infidel housing Damutek where she passed several warriors moving a group of infidels to the next project site. She passed this and after ten more minutes she reached the hangar. She found an idle pilot. "I need transport to my Sh'rip Sh'pa in orbit. I have something that needs to be delivered directly to my personal pilot." The pilot fidgeted slightly. "Yes High Master Shaper!" He said enthusiastically as he crossed his arms over his chest in the salute that signified his obedience to her command.

*Red and Silver squadrons entered the atmosphere above Freedom city, and split into staggered shield trios. Red group 1 approached from the east, Red group 2 from the west. Silver group 1 flew south across the city, as Silver group 2 passed it going north over the city. All groups were actively scanning for any local resistance, and relaying all sensor data to the Arild in orbit over the planet, for storage and processing.*

*It had all happened very fast, the garrison of troops and vehicles were still preparing the city's defenses as the first of the invading forces' fighters dropped into the atmosphere. The infantry were still digging in and the tanks were still lumbering towards the perimeter, however the lighter MALs were faster than the heavy tanks. The Missile Attack Launchers were locking into position as the enemy fighters begin flying over the city.

Sixty of the one hundred MALs in the city, the only ones able to fire at the moment, launch their concussion missiles. Fifteen missiles pursue each of the enemy's fighter groups as they fly over the city.*

Re: Freedom City

*As the X83's fly over the city they find several enemy positions being fortified, as they reach the edge of Freedom city their astromechs pick up the MALs trying to get a lock on them, and prepare to launch conventional countermeasures while their pilots pull up at full throttle to gain distance and maneuvering room. Upon confirmed missile launch, all fighters begin to dispense chaff, and the pilots perform a simple Immelmann turn ending with their noses pointed back towards the city and the incoming missiles. The pilots drop their ion engines to idle, as they fire flares and put shields full forward. The pilots begin firing lasers back down their exhaust trails hitting several of the clustered incoming missiles as they came, these set off some of the nearby missiles that the pilots missed. And the lasers that didn't hit missiles continued towards the MALs that had launched missiles at the passing fighters.

One missile makes it through and scores a direct hit, on one of the rookie pilots, though the shields absorb most of the impact, most of the explosion hits the hull, buckling the crafts nose and crushing the cockpit like a tin can. The fighter plummets towards the surface, telemetry suggest that the astromech was also crushed by the missile. It smashes into the surface at several hundreds of kmph and creates a large impact crater, as the the torpedoes in its magazine explode, tearing the fighter into fine shrapnel.

Another Missile makes it through the counter measures, explosions, and laser fire, but the pilot barrel-roles at the last second and it makes a glancing hit to the ventral bow of the fighter, the shields and hull absorb most of the hit, but the hull is dented and the pilots targeting computer is knocked off-line. The pilot continues to fire in the general direction of the MALs, while his astormech transmits a damage report and tries to fix the targeting computer.

From orbit turbolasers and intermittent pairs of medium concussion missiles begin to rain down on the Mobile Rotating Planetary Surface Defense Platform, as the Arild uses data collected by the over pass to paint hostile targets in the city for both its own gunners and the Freyr's gunners.*

  Code:
23 X-83's are returning fire on the MALs and any nearby military targets.(1 with out a working targeting comp)
2 Gladiator-class SDs are firing on the Mobile Rotating Planetary Surface Defense Platform from orbit. (6 dual light Turbolasers and 2 medium missile launchers each)
1 X-83 downed, and incinerated.

Re: Freedom City

*The MALs come under fire as the starfighters come back for another pass. Several take damage as the fighters score hits on the armored vehicles, a few even explode as laser fire detonates their missile magazines. The remaining forty MALs get into position and lock into position. Another salvo of missiles is launched into the air at the attacking starfighters, this time larger than the first. Approximately four missiles pursues each enemy aircraft.

Turbolaser and missile fire rains down on the Mobile Defense Platforms as it lumbers into position, its heavy armor absorbs the majority of the laser but the missiles cause minor damage to it's weaponry. The massive vehicle targets the Arild and returns fire with its pair of ion cannons and 38 remaining concussion missile launchers.

The heavier tanks reach their positions, areas with taller buildings in order to shield them from aircraft and orbital weaponry. The infantry form a perimeter, stationing themselves in fortified buildings.*

Re: Freedom City

*Each group begins to scissor by trio, firing lasers at the widest point of the maneuver, towards the MALs. The missiles again, clump together as their targets keep crossing paths. Laser fire sets off a few warheads, which starts a second chain reaction, though the missiles are more tightly packed this time due to their simply being a larger quantity of missiles in the same area. Three missiles survive, but two over shoot their targets as the fighters barrel roll away from the center of the formation. The last missile scores a glancing hit on a rolling fighter, and bounces off the fighter's shields.

As they shoot back over the MALs the X-83's switch to missiles, link the launchers, and target the Mobile Rotating Planetary Surface Defense Platform. Red group 1, 6 fighters, aims for ion cannon 1 as red group 2, 5 fighters, aims for ion cannon 2. Silver group 1, 5 fighters + 1 blind fighter, aims for the exterior sensor array, while silver group 2, 6 fighters, aims for the active missile tubes. 22 fighters launch two concussion missiles, upon confirmation of missile lock, while the blind pilot fires as soon as he's lined up with the center of the platform so that he'll probably hit the platform, somewhere.

The Arild's two point defense laser cannon batteries, make short work of the 38 concussion missiles as they rise into range pf the orbiting star destroyer. The ion cannons are more effective, shorting out several primary power relays in the ship and damaging one of the shield generators, causing them to lose 21% strength, in the first few volleys.

The Arild continues to fire all turbolasers and both missile tubes at the MRPSDP, form orbit. Engineers begin sorting out the damaged shield generator and trying to effect repairs as best they can. The Freyr continues to fire its missiles on the MRPSDP, but shifts its turbolasers to the remaining MALs on the cities southern edge. Troops in both ships finish preparing for deployment and sit waiting for the order to move out.*

  Code:
Red Group 1: 6 X-83s in two shield trios. One fighter with shields at 60%.
RG2: 5 X-83s in one and 2/3rds shield trios.
SG1: 6 X-83s in two shield trios. One fighter has a damaged targeting computer.
SG2: 6 X-83s in tow shield trios.
Arild: Shields at 79%, hull at 100%, all weapons functional.

Re: Freedom City

*As soon as the new target of the fighters the MRPSDP changes its own targets, twenty two of the remaining launchers switch their missiles' detonators from impact to proximity. The platform launches a staggered volley of missiles into the flight path of the incoming missiles. They had no chance of intercepting the missiles themselves but as the various warheads cross paths the proximity detonators are triggered. Each exploding missile creates a chain reaction detonating multiple enemy warheads for each one launched from the MRPSDP. The tactic isn't perfect as a few missiles survive to crash into the platforms hull, combined with the turbolaser fire they damage a few more launchers and kill some crewmen as well.

The two ion cannons fire again, this time specifically targeting the Arild's point-defense laser cannons. The mobile platform immediately follows up by firing missiles from the fourteen launchers that didn't already fire and are not damaged at the same ship.

The enemy aircrafts' maneuvering may have been an effective tactic for avoiding missile, but it had a negative impact on the accuracy of their cannon fire. One launcher dies in a ball of fire as its warheads are set off and another two are damaged beyond function.

The eighty nine remaining MALs alter their tactics as well and reduce their number of targets. Instead of firing at all four fighter groups they target Red Group One and Red Group Two. Coordinating their attack, the launchers stagger their fire to keep them from clustering together and so that missiles would come at the fighters from several different directions.*
