Re: Froz City

*Bultrich seemed to slump on the spot, his eyes narrowing only slightly. Keeping focused on the Mandalorian, the Adviser let his words come fast and sharp, swiftly extracting a datapad from the folds of his robes as well. He didn't want the "Grandoise Acting"? Fine.*

*Tapping a few keys on the datapad, half turning around, Bultrich looked up only to tell the Mandalorian a few words.*

=Adviser Bultrich=
"Six o'clock standard. Be at the Administrative Tower. Tarrik will be waiting."

*With that, Bultrich turned around and began to walk down the street, his own aides following closely behind him. The Frozians did look on, it seemed, but perhaps more at their flashy attire. Bultrich noted this with scorn.*

Re: Froz City

*The city life, it is a simple one here on Froz. There are few sky scrapping buildings, but the city sprawls in a long crawl in the shape of the Bendu. The hub comes together with Frozian administrative tower soaring over head. Each spoke runs gently into the re-established forests of the planet, except for those around which a spaceport surround. Out past the docks, the great plains unfold into the rural straits of Froz.

Along every street, stalls and booths open up with the rising sun to sell their goods to citizens, tourists, anyone willing to make a trade. It is a good day in the market! Native Frozians and immigrated species both live together here, but the native Frozians are the minority since the war with the Yuuzhan Vong. All members of the Corell sector have found homes on Froz, but humans seem to take up the bulk of the population these days. Of course there are always a few exotics that call the planet home as well.*

*But the peace of Froz is not all there is to see.*

Re: Froz City

=The Docks=

*It was quite around Froz. Almost too quiet. The Froz branch of Corellian Security had been down in business for months. Sure there was the occasional domestic dispute for the city security to handle, but the other departments were suffering. For the people of Froz, this was a good thing, for those wanting in adventure and excitement... well they had hit a lull.*

Vivianleer *was the figurehead of Corellian Security on Froz. While her station was now purely political as the commissioner of the force, she had started out on the streets of Froz and worked her way up through the ranks steadily. A native Frozian, she knew her planet very well and had an uncanny understanding of the other aliens that called Froz home.

She was often found in her office, working on budgets for the upcoming year or managing departments necessary but witnessing a period of slow times. If you needed the head of Froz CorSec, Vivianleer would be your best bet whether or not through proper channels.*

*Corellian Security maintained several branches with offices very close to the space port on the third northwestern spoke of the city. They were the main law enforcement of the city and the planet. Their jurisdiction reached as far out as the hyperspace channel leading into the planet's orbit. It was true that certain departments were annexed in other parts of the city, or planet wide, but the main force was settled on the docks.*

*It was also here that a Jedi Watchman of Froz had offices.* Tira'misu *had been chosen as the Jedi Watchman of Froz nearly a decade ago. While she was a more exotic race to the Corellian sector as a Verpine, she had found a good home on Froz as a protector. She was also a constantly available asset on the planet.*

*Corellian Security was the law enforcing branch on the planet, so they did not serve in any military capacity. However, the military base was near the docks as well. The barracks were usually bare being comprised of mainly a reserved force and a rag tag militia. Those in service after training maintained rotating shift work on the fleet in orbit. The peaceful times did not require the continual use of the community facilities. Nevertheless, there were exercises held on base for any new recruits and bi-weekly mandatory inspections for the reserves and militia so that they could keep up their skills.*

Admiral Peskite Voodin *was the man behind the training forces. He was green to this new rank and station always fumbling with his paperwork. Since being out of combat commission, the human was slowly adjusting to life behind a desk. He had serendipitously landed the rank of Admiral and he was still wondering how he had flown through the ranks so quickly.

While Admiral Voodin shuffled the paperwork, the real work and training was handled by five Recruit Division Commanders. These were also in charge of all the regular CorSec training on Froz. All new recruits had to go through training with*
Division Commander Rob C'hort*. Commander C'hort was an abrasive zabrak who was good at his job of training his new recruits, but if you were looking for anything else from him, it was sorely missed. Recruiters for the reserve and militia were stationed throughout the city.*

*Along the docks, there was a thriving business community. There you could find any manner of swoop bike and landspeeder manufactures and vendors. Industrial business boomed along the northern spokes of the city with the docks as their main source of import and export. There were refineries stationed here as well for several of the local mining contractors.*

*Industrial habits were in the care of lawyers and other people who talked too much these days. While many Frozians viewed the industrial area as a necessary evil, someone made a lucrative living off of the chain of refineries and manufacturing wharfs. The main head of the area was a shrewd Frozian by the name of* Elliotrijjs. *He was possibly the most powerful, financially, person on Froz. Credits talk.*

*Beyond the northern half of Froz City, stretched endless reaches of prairie land and forest land. The Froz maintained a great rural community outside of the city with many farmers traversing to market on a weekly basis to sell the fruits of their labor. Those that lived farther from the city hub had their surplus shipped to the city daily by a convoy of speeder trucks that ranged continuously. The farmlands were a network of continuously fertile flood plains along the reaches of a great river*

*The city and the planet ran much the same as it did anywhere else in the galaxy with the comings and goings of life passing daily with a seemingly meaningless nonchalance. Key players were always available to visitors.*

*The Verpine Jedi Watchman, Tira'misu stood tall wrapping a string of tinsel around the door frame in her office. It was that time of year on Froz to decorate. It was a major holiday planet wide when the season was getting cooler and the massive harvest was at an end. A renewal holiday started by the farmers. The Verpine had been on Froz for so long that she was accustomed to the holiday now.*

Re: Froz City

*It was beginning to look a lot like Thomzorf, as the Frozians called their yuletide holiday. Depending upon hemisphere, the holiday was held on different occasions. In the equatorial reaches where the main Froz City sat like a disc on a record player, the holiday was held around this time of the year. It was the winter solstice, though it was difficult to tell with the ever present condition of what we know of as summertime. Every day in Froz City was the same length as the last. The sun was always in the same place at the same time everyday, and the weather ran like clockwork. The farmers coming into the city had more variation depending on if they were north or south of the city. Most of the Framland settled north towards more temperate climes. Some of the farthest northern farmers had seen snow!

Families in Froz city were hustling and bustling about, excited for their holiday, but enjoying the fine weather after the daily rain had washed away the oppressive humidity. It was infectious. The offworlders could not help but to become involved with the growing festivities.*

*Jarypt's ship lands and he disembarks, with a Force-conjured illusion around himself to appear normal to passers-by. The city has unique architecture, but metaphorically it looked just like all the others. The curves, window, sturdy building materials all disguised something very fragile that could be destroyed by the ones who rely on it most with the right words in the right ears.

He would do this more subtly though, something beyond his ordinary senses demanded it. It was strange, yes, but Jarypt rarely questioned such things. Feelings such as this one originate beyond a being from the Force itself, and to ignore that would be folly with a consequence of death.

He started into the city, looking for his first move.*

*At the end of the ramp, a small Frozian boy stood, easily over looked due to his stature and the nature of the patron's visit. Tentatively, Timmay reached an extra jointed hand towards the man's sleeve. He was there to collect the money for taking care of the ship, charge upon arrival. If that flight jockey up in orbit forgot to mention it, Timmay's boss was going to have an aneurysm, or something of a life-threatening nature.*

*Jarypt fixed the small boy with a swift, cold stare. He pulled his sleeve away from the cloying fingers. There was little Jarypt could dwell upon when it came to Non-Force users. They were background noise, or scurrying short-lived pawns. Still...best not to draw attention.

Jarypt dropped some credits in the boys hand. Not too much, not too little, then nodded and left. He had bigger plans to enact.*

*The young Frozian counted out the credits and put the amount in his datapad. This was good for a three day stay. The boy would keep the information tucked away, however he did not know how to further reach the man if he wanted to keep the ship there longer. He gulped when he looked up to see the man had disappeared. He ran off to find his supervisor. The ship would have to be monitored since the man had not given any contact information.*

Re: Froz City

*Jarypt had an eye for leadership quality. Normally, this was used by commanders or generals to choose officers, or corporations to choose managers, or desperate, weak people looking for someone to justify their existence. Jarypt was interested in the third category. Observing was a time-consuming process, but Jarypt had no shortage of time.

He thought he found his candidate. This man fit all the required categories. An individual. Free thinker. Someone who couldn't be put down or manipulated.

Or so they thought.

Jarypt was already subtly influencing his mind, through words and the Force. The man now thought he was wasting his talent. That he was meant for greater things. Maybe...revolution?

Yes. This man, Caim, would be Jarypt's puppet. And the leader of the massacre to come.*

Re: Froz City

*Caim felt the steady rumble beneath his feet and in his chair. It matched the nervous energy he felt. All around the vehicle, other men sat the same as him. Forlornly, glaring at the floor. He thought back to what the stranger had said.

Caim had gotten used to meeting the same kinds of people with different faces. They all seemed to fall into neat little categories, but not this guy. He was weird. He also talked a lot. Caim remembered talking to him about seemingly innocent things like jobs and routine, then more interesting things like change and ambition. He had told Caim about how resistant everyone was to new things, even if they were better than what was all around them. That was depressing. But then he had said that all it took was one person to change that. Just one guy was enough make things better for everyone. That was deep. Then he had said that Caim was a guy who could do that.

Caim had believed him. He wasn't sure why, but this guy, he was really interesting, and convincing. He remembered something he had said...*

"Change is always slow, though." *Caim said.* "It's gotta go through procedures, one guy can't push it through."

"That isn't change." *The stranger said.*"That's a mask. Something that politicians use to disguise reinforcement of their personal protocols."

"There's a faster way, then?"

"There is. Force."

*Force. The word echoed in Caim's head. It made so much sense. They could ignore polite cries for help. They could ignore petitions. They could even ignore the very people who form the foundation of the society they exploit. But they could never ignore direct action.*

"Hey Caim." *Caim's eyes flicked up to one of the other guys in the vehicle.*"You're...you're sure about this?"

"Real sure, Droga. These are the bad guys, no matter what they say."

"But...this?"

"Yeah, this. Every other way is something they control. This is foreign to them." *He looked around at everyone else.* "Try to think big, guys. This is the first step in making everything better. No more getting stepped on. No more letting rich guys get away with murder. This is how we fight back. This is how we show them we aren't drones." *They all nodded and smiled a little. It was hard to justify it, but Caim just had. Leave it to him.*

*The hovervan shuddered to a stop, and the driver turned around and nodded to the Caim and his men. Caim nodded back, and each of the men slipped a three-hole mask over their face. They opened up the back and piled out into the street.

It was night, the street was empty. In front of them was a large, lavish building. Someone important lived here. Someone corrupt and dominating. Each of the men shouldered a bulky bag and entered. They walked straight to the elevators. The ride up was silent, except some shuffling and muted coughs. The doors opened with a soft ding and the shuffled out, down the hall. Just like the schematics said, the bedroom was at the end. They stacked up on the door and removed their equipment from their duffel bags. Zipping, clacking, and clicking filled the air. Then they nodded to each other and kicked in the door.*

*Their target awoke with a start, flailing in his bedsheets, he stared dazed into their bright flashlights, utterly at a loss. One of the assailants hit him in the head with the butt of their blaster rifle. He was alone, widowed years ago. No one would call for help.*

"Get it." *Caim ordered. One of the men produced a camera. He nodded to Caim.*

*The target was forced to his knees and looked blearily around him. He could barely form words to find out what was going on.*

"This is the beginning." *Caim said to the camera.* "This is change." *Saying any more would dilute the message. He turned and shot the politician in the head. The camera stopped recording, and the men hustled out back to the van, leaving the body where it lay.*

*From behind a screen, Jarypt carefully monitored the whole thing. His support had kept the men off the security cameras and the security systems within the manor silent. It was easy when things were still so small. Soon, he would need to play a larger role, but for now.

For now, it began.*

Re: Froz City

*The next day, the governor's aid found the body, wrapped in a sheet and a pool of blood soaking through the rather exquisite rug. It was around mid morning when the city security force had the mansion on lock down. There were very few if any indicators as to what happened.

The Jedi Sentinel, Tira'misu, stood over the carnage with a strange look across her verpine features. This was odd work. There had not been any threats made upon the old governor's life before, so this attack came as quite a shock. She gently reached out a finger to touch the cold body. A brief flash of the area hours before appeared.*

*There was darkness, but a bright light and a harsh voice. The heart pounded with a rush of fear, adrenaline. "This is change." The voice said.*

*The image ended with a blinding flash and cold that seeped into her mind. The verpine brought her hand away from the body, then looked to the CorSec detective at her side.*

=Tira'misu=
"There was a voice, in this places memory, but nothing else. A radical by his words, 'this is change.' I have no other clues as to who he or his friends might be. But from the signs of struggle you and yours have found, the spokesman had help."

*She finished speaking and the detective sighed heavily. Just what Froz needed, a rebel agent hunting for the city government officials. Governor Getbacon had not even been that bad, and his term was ending next month. A new way to describe "retiring early."

The detective wrote the joke down on his datapad used for notes.*

=Detective Winifred Langly=
"Thanks for your help, Watchman. Shame you can't find more of a lead. Guess we will have to beef up our security around the other officials. Can't have the senators and Governor elect dropping like flies in this part of the core." *He paused to take some more notes about press releases and the like.* "Yep, what a time for this to happen."

Re: Froz City

Is it ready?

It is.

*Caim leaned over the stranger's shoulder and peered deeply into the computer screen. He was uploading their video to public channels, and was finishing the touches on its security backups. They didn't want anyone tracing it back to their position. The stranger was paranoid beyond that though, he was throwing away the computer afterwards. Caim was wondering where he learned all this stuff, but he didn't look a gift bantha in the mouth. The video reached the public channels, and the stranger cocked his head to nod slightly at Caim. Caim clicked his comlink on.*

Do it.
*The receivers of the message nodded to his friends in the vehicle with him. They climbed out and headed for the courthouse. Once inside, they blended in, and headed for a courtroom where a trial was just starting. Boring formalities were gone through in the mockery of justice. They all knew that what was right did not determine sentences in this wretched place. A little bit into the case, they left. One by one, pretending to answer comms or going to the restroom, they left. And when they had all left the courthouse, one by one and in different directions, the covert incendiary devices they planted exploded and engulfed the court chamber in flames.

They were covert, so the radius of the explosives was not large, and likely the flames would be extinguished before serious damage, but the message was sent.*

*Days after the explosions in the commons, people were restricted to their homes and the forums were shut down. For the civillians of Froz, it was a particularly frightening time while the police and agents worked on routing out the terrorists.

Tira'misu, the planet's watchman had submitted manifests of any new people in the city come from the spaceport. Along with the detectives of CorSec, they made their way to a small apartment on the upper southside of the docks. There were rumors that suspicious activities were going on on the fifth floor of this particular building.*

*At room 4206, a delicate verpine forearm knocked briskly on the door. Another officer at her side barked at the door:* "This is Corellian Security, open up!" *They waited a few moments for an answer.*

*There was a few seconds of pause, then the door slid open slightly. A young man looked out with wide eyes. Another terrified civilian, in a city that was filling with them.*

*This young man was of course, not a young man at all. Jarypt was disguising himself with the Force, and playing a part. Corellian Security was certainly faster than other law enforcement, effective as well, but prowess at outmaneuvering a Sith Anarchist was not a skill frequently practiced.*

Y-yeah? What is it? *The young man stuttered.*

*The detective shoved a datapad under the young man's nose. This indicated that the authorities had been given permission to search the contents of the room in question. The cops elbowed their way inside, feeling it was every bit their right to search and potentially seize.

Tira'misu stood with the man for a moment trying to read him. Humans could be tricky to understand, from a Verpin point of view. She clacked away in her own thoughts while observing him closely.*
"Sir, I am Jedi Watchman Tira'misu. We have traced a line of credits from a ship that came into the city several days ago to your current residence. While CorSec is searching your apartment, I would like to ask you a few questions." *Her phrasing was purely trying to save face in an unpleasant situation. If push came to shove, CorSec would also take the man down for an interrogation if he would not give them information willingly.

The cops wanted the perp to be this guy so that they could go back to donuts and nemoidian about not having enough to do, but the Jedi wanted nothing more than to put the pieces together in the right order so no one else would be harmed.*

*Jarypt stepped aside and let the officers enter with no resistance. He covertly noted their number, eyes flicking from one officer to the next while feigning anxiety. Then he focused on the Jedi in front of him, slouching and appearing non-threatening.*

O-okay. What do you need to know?
*The apartment was clean of evidence, even Caim's rifle was with him out on a mission. Clean, except for the ceiling. In the small space between this apartment's roof and the above apartment's ceiling there were enough shaped, directional charges to scorch the apartment of everything and everyone. It was a last resort, quietly installed when the apartment had been filled to the brim with incriminating evidence. A last resort that was growing more likely with every inquisitive prod of the officers.*

*The verpine Jedi chittered gently, waving her hand at a chair, indicating that the man should probably take a seat. The CorSec guys were being none too gentle amongst the man's belongings. Tira'misu winced at the crashing noises.*

"I am sure you have heard endless commentary and suspicious rumors about the bombings in the city these past few weeks. We are looking for these persons that are leading these incidents. We have followed several leads that point in your direction. A paper trail, that tried fervently to be left unnoticed, that leads from the spaceport to this apartment and multiple supplies that have gone into these terrorist attacks on our city." *The verpine paused in her short monologue before moving on.* "Sir, do you care to give a statement about your where abouts on these several occasions?" *The bug towered over him, humming slightly to herself. There was something there, something that set her spines on edge, but she could not determine if it was him, the room or something in the building. Nevertheless, the Force was trying to send her a message.*
