    Omega is home of The Illusive Man's shadowy organization Cerberus. The station itself is a massive structure, able to hold tens of thousands of his most loyal followers and their families. Omega is located in a small bubble of gravitational stability amongst several blackholes making it one of the most inaccessible and protected locations in the galaxy. It is protected by on-board ray and particle shields generators. It's massive engines allow it to navigate through the Blackholes and maintain constant movement to further avoid detection. Only those in direct contact with The Illusive Man are granted the updated navigational data required to reach Omega. Highly defended, this is the nexus of The Illusive Man's power and organization.
