The dull roar of engines broke the still peacefulness of the warm sky above the Fett Homestead, heralding the approach of my freighter, which touched down unsteadily in the hangar of the Homestead, remaining still for a moment before the engine hissed as it shut down, and then the ramp extended downwards, clanking into the ground of the hangar with a loud, unpleasant thud.
Before long I was traveling down that hangar, my booted feet thumping on the metal of the ramp. I was dressed in typical scouting garb: a loose, flowing white shirt, simple tan breeches and leather boots, and a heavy gun belt that housed my LL-30's. A strap looped over my left shoulder and supported the carbine that I also sported. My adventures had left me deeply tanned, my muscles thicker than when I left, my chest broader. The stubble of a few day's worth of beard covered my chin, and my black hair had grown longer and was unkempt, sticking up in odd places in utter disarray. But my amber eyes still held the familiar glint that they'd had before I left, and my sense of humor and my personality remained largely unchanged, as I'd only been gone a few months.
I came to a stop at the bottom of the ramp and breathed out a long sigh, savoring the feeling of being back on my home planet once more. It was a funny thing; I had not once missed the planet the entire time that I'd been gone on my scouting mission, never once had a single pang of homesickness, and yet now that I was back, I felt I was crazy for ever having left. The absurdness of this brought a small smile to my lips, pulling taut the lip that curled from the left corner of my mouth up to beside the ear on the same side, a thin, hardly noticeable thing that I was nonetheless probably overly proud of.
Shaking my head, my emotions running high, I stuck my right hand in my pocket, my left hand coming around to steady my carbine as I walked, and headed for the exit, intent on tracking down Cassus and informing him that my mission was complete and had been a success. My right of passage was over, and before long I would be sporting my very own suit of armor.
With a smile on my face, I exited the hangar and went off in search of his Mandalorian brother.
