Hangars

This is the operational side of the Space Station, Ison II, which comprises an estimated 15-30% of the station itself and is in working order.

IC: He is good arn anyways he works for the person who hired us for this job. I am shutting the door now.
*Samael hit the button to shut the landing door. He jumped on the comm and spoke to the people on the ship.*

Re: Hangars

*Dolmin input what remained of the instructions into the system. Hearing Samael's instruction, the Herglic's large, sweeping arms flew over the control system - a modified version of an old Victory II Star-Destroyer's main bridge console. It had been thoroughly-remodeled, tailored to suit Dolmin's needs; as the cockpit for the Barloz was less than Herglic-friendly. Hume-sized seats, hume-sized control knobs, hume-thought engineering, separating critical systems from one another and placing things in odd places. He had to get rid of every chair but his own, which was more akin to a small form-couch than a pilot's chair. That suited him just fine. Every system was slaved to his central control console, and as he finished setting up the navi-computer's debarkation vector, he spoke softly to himself...*

"This is it, Dol'ken-min...the point of no turning. Now you will live amongst humes, and they will be your paak...are you sure you're ready?"

*He placed the thought at the back of his mind as he gripped the control yoke. Pulling upward, the ship's engines hummed and whistled. As the inertial dampeners had registered as kicking in, Dolmin eased the yoke forward, turning it to the left. In a few moments, the vessel was out of the hangar's interdiction field, and into orbit.*

Re: Hangars

Damien wrote:Waiting for the last of the team to make it into the hangar complex, Damien took the last few shots in his current clip, destroying three more droids, and then slid the rifle onto his back and made his way to the nearest roof entry, which happened to be a trap door. Pulling it open and dropping through onto a catwalk, he had a full view of the hangar below and everything going on and so was able to quickly locate Ty. Swinging his legs easily over the railing, he dropped the dozen meters to the ground, focusing the force and reinforcing his legs for the landing as he hit and rolled to absorb most of the impact.

Coming to a stop as he stood from the roll, Damien looked around him at the results of the battle. He'd seen better before, but it definitely wasn't the worst he'd seen either. Although he was no medical professional so all he saw were people on stretchers and people off them. And luckily Ty was one of the latter. Walking slowly up to the boss, he looked him up and down as he spoke, noticing the heavy stance he had taken, like his body was weighed down by a weight on his mind.
"Where to next, Chief?"

*Ty shook his head to snap out of his trance* Just head to the ship. *Ty walked on past him as he pulled off his ear comlink and entering the ship. He propped his gun up as he walked in and then started to take all of his weapons off tossing them onto the empty seats until he was unarmed. He then started to remove the top of his armor*

*His thoughts went to the sight of the explosion just moments prior. The hollow, blank expression on his face was didn't hide that his mind was elsewhere, but then again neither did the hard, emphasized movements he displayed as he removed his armor, his frustration would be clear to anyone near him. But it was more than that, there was something significant to his being particularly upset about this one*

*As he finished taking the top of his armor off he threw it on another empty seat before sitting down and running his hands through his hair and bringing his elbows down to his knees, resting his head in his hands looking at the floor. He stayed there for a little while before sitting back and activating the ships internal comms* :: Prepare to take off, wait five minutes for any stragglers but after that our position is compromised ::

Re: Hangars

Following Ty onto the ship, Damien finally managed to shut up for once and just let the man be alone with his thoughts as he took a seat across from him and strapped in for the trip back. The fighting had been fun, but he had his doubts about whether he would be staying with the Aces any longer. They were good people, but they were military, and Damien was most certainly not.

Re: Hangars

*Jack Mapio's mind had been searching the entire galaxy. Looking for the preverbal needle in a haystack. after a long wile searching he had found it. Like a missile that had finally locked on to its target Jack focussed everything he had on his old friend and mentor, Atuna Lemep. He had no clue where in the galaxy Atuna was but he had found him. That was the easy part finding him from beyond the vail but to reach him? That was something else entirely. Jack would need to call on all of his experience with the force and he would also have to rely on the force's guidance. He would have to surrender himself to the force and then and only then he might be able to maybe give a few emotions of brief memories to pop into Atuna's mind.

At this point all that Jack could do was the influence a few emotions that would be felt by Atuna. He was able to send two emotions before he had to retract his mind from the world of the living back to the underworld. The two emotions were simple ones he was able to send an emotion that would cause Atuna to briefly remember Jack. The second would make him remember something else. What Atuna would remember jack had no clue other than it would be a memory of death. Jack hoped that Atuna would be able to conclude what had happened to him from those two separate memories. And with that as fast as jack was able to breach the vail separating the world from the living from the world of the dead he could no longer keep his mind in the world of the living. HIs mind was then thrust back into the world of the dead. It would be a long while before he was able to try and make contact again.*

Re: Hangars

*Atuna had been sauntering toward his shuttle when a sudden bright flash assaulted the his mind's eye. For what felt like hours he relived his experience during the Plague War, how he had made such good friends with Linn, and Ramiel, and....Jack. Mapio was coming to the forefront of every vision, every thought, that he managed to glean from the experience. Soon the stream of thoughts ended and a new one began, one that he didn't recognize. It was a few minutes of time from the perspective of someone else; Mapio, he presumed. Blaster fire and open space, ships racing to defend the planet Corellia. This particular pilot, Atuna still presuming it to be Jack, was performing rather spectacularly until a stray shot opened the canopy and vented him into space.*

*In this moment Atuna realized Mapio had died that day. How long ago or why he had not realized sooner was a mystery, but to a lesser extent he knew what had just happened. Mapio wasn't done yet; his destiny had not yet come to fruition. Immediately Atuna stopped in his tracks, his long black cape trying to advance past him and simply waving around him ominously in the process, and turned around toward the facility.*

*During the last few seconds of time, Aidan had watched his boss walk forward, stop, and turn around at the same pace. After Kessler had departed, the group had grown silent as they prepared to depart. Atuna had bought control of this facility for the sole purpose of hunting Termin, and now that he had accomplished this goal, he was expecting his boss to pack up and leave as well. But now, watching in confusion, the sniper wondered what change of heart had occurred.*

:: I'm going to go talk to him. ::

:: Use small words, Aidan, he looked a tad....flushed. ::

*With a nod to his brother, Aidan strode after Atuna. He had to go into a jog to catch him before he left the hangars.* "Atuna?"

*The Miraluka stopped and turned to face his commando.* "Aidan?"

"What's going on? I thought we were leaving."

"We are. I just need to attend to something. Excuse me." *Then he exited without another word, leaving Aidan at the door, even more confused than he had been previously.*

Re: Hangars

*Just before atuna would have left the hanger atuna would have breafly felt the presence of jack mapio as his mind once again breached the vail of the netherworld and was among the living. Right after he felt his presence a wave of imagery would flood his mind. Not able to send but a few words this was the only way to convay his meaning to atuna. Atuna would see a few simple images. One would be of a long ago mithacal creature of a phenox rising from its own ashes. The second would be of a clone. What clone atuna saw was up to his own mind. Jack coud only convey the meaning atunas minds eye was what made it real to him.

The next immage was a simple one a person handing somone else a credit chip. This indicated a price. Or at least jack hoped thats what atuna got for it. The last immage that would grase the mind of atuna was a lybrary. This was to convay the price was knowlage but it was verry vague and jack wasent shue if atuna was able to get the entire meaning. Jack could feel his time was going fast. He dident have much time before his mind was thrust back into hte netherworld. Right before his mind was thrust back he was able to send a few words into the mind of atuna and then as fast as atuna would have felt jack's presence the presence would be gone leaving atunas presence alone in the hanger.*

Re: Hangars

*It wasn't more than a few seconds before Atuna returned with a bundle of items under his arm, walking right past Aidan on his way to the ship. The fully customized Flying Fish was Atuna's pride and joy, the fastest corvette in his fleet. It served as his home away from home, and he was almost never home. The ship contained enough hospital equipment to register it as a medical ship, yet boasted the perfect arsenal to stay undocumented as a combat-ready ship. That is, to say, it had only a enough visible weapons (keyword visible) to avoid unnecessary classification as a warship.*

*The boarding ramp to the Flying Fish opened and Atuna nearly tripped running inside. Aidan, ever the curious one, followed briskly after him. Inside, when the sound of his footsteps had died away, the young commando could hear the various beeps and hums of the ship's medical equipment. One particular machine, the one Atuna was trying to operate, was a large bacta tank with several large tubes jutting from the top. Aidan had never seen the machine before.*

"What is that, sir?"

"You know the answer to that question, Aidan. Now stand guard, and make sure I'm not disturbed."

"Yes sir." *Aidan spun on his heel and stood at attention at the top of the loading ramp. Behind him, Atuan began rattling off a list of elements.*

"Oxygen, Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Calcium, Phosphorus, Potassium, Sulfur, Chlorine, Sodium, Magnesium, Iron, Cobalt, Copper, Zinc, Iodine, Selenium, Fluorine...." *With each one, a characteristic hiss or woosh sounded from inside the machine. For what felt like hours, but was in reality a few minutes, this process continued unabated, until finally Atuna and the machine went silent. Aidan turned around to see a man, the body of whom he'd never seen before, floating in the tank.*

"Finally. Now, we just wait. Quietly."

"Sir, who's body is that?"

"It will be Jack Mapio's, here in a few minutes.

Re: Hangars

*As atuna was working on the clone body he would feel a presence behind him. Jack once again had broken the vail between the world of the living and the world of the dead. Although it had only been moments in the world of the living where Jack was it had been a lifetime. In that lifetime he had practiced and medatated. He dident want to try to reach atuna again untill he was in the final stage. Untill he was able to present himself in what was called a force ghost and present himself in etherial form to his former friend and mentor.

Almost out of nowhere the etherial form of jack mapio appeared. Jack looked around. He was able to see. This is a wierd experence. Jack almost dident know what to do. He knew that he was floating but it seemed like his feet were on the ground, what ground to him he was still in the netherworld medatating and what was here was only a prjection of himself. He saw Atuna Aidan and a slowly forming clone body. So his meaning had gotten through. He took a deep breath. Soon he would be back although it wouldent really be him. Not for a long time. He wouldent remember anything but he would slowly regain his memory as he regains his strength and force prowes. He looked at atuna and spoke.*

Hello Atuna.

*Atuna spoke directly to Jack without turning to face him. His sight allowed for him to see virtually anything in a complete orb around him.* "Jack. This is it. When you're ready, it's your time."

"Atuna, what's going on?"

"I'll explain later. Jack, my friend, if you have anything, anything at all, that you wish to keep from your past life, whether it be a memory or a possession, tell me now. You know what will happen after you make this decision."

Re: Hangars

*Jack sighed or at least what would look like a sigh. This was it. He was saposed to condence his entire life into one request. What would he have to tell him. Everything else he would forget he he dident know if the force would ever let him remember it ever again. The only real posessions that he had was his former fleet. Right now it was just ships and equipment in deep space. All the men had left and it was really just a pile of junk. Jack shook his head.*

No Atuna. There is nothing that i want you to tell my next self. Make up some story. I dont care what but i dont want to know anything. Remember galactic quadrants 54.23 alpha 43.21 gamma 45.99 upsilon. Thats where the remnets of my fleet are. Do with it what you wish. I dont know if im going to be able to do this and if i am able to then i might not wake up for a few days... Well... See you on the other side.

*The image of jack mapio faded as he no longer needed to keep up that facade. He spirit was still there but he no longer needed to keep up the shape of a force ghost. He needed all his strength for his task at hand. He used all his power everything that he had. His spirit returned to the underworld one last time. From the underworld jack took one last look around. He would be glad to get out of here. He sat down and closed his eyes. In his mind he made a spear only this was not a normal spear. this spear would be his way out. He took the spear in his hand and he thrust it not at a target but at the vail the invisible barrier that kept the world of the living and the world of the dead separate. he could see a tare. This was his chance. He got up and he ran, he ran as fast as he had ever before he finally got to the rip and jumped through. He couldn't see but he felt his spirit fly through the universe into the galaxy to ison and into the room that his former master stood and into the tank. The body inside started convulsing as jack struggled to gain control of the body. As soon as the convulsions started they ended. It would be time before atuna knew if Jack's attempt was successful.*

Re: Hangars

*Atuna waited a moment after the convulsions ceased before he tapped several times on the glass. Jack was in no condition to wake up anytime soon.* "A complete success."

"Sir-"

"Jack Mapio was killed in a fighter skirmish over Corellia. He has been contacting me sporadically, and weakly, for the last few months. To him, I'm sure, it must've felt like an eternity. He has been given another chance to live, at the cost of everything. He has left me with his fleet; I assume that means everything else he owns too. But for now, Jack Mapio is completely dead. When he comes back, he will have absolutely no recollection of his past. No name, no history; he won't remember you, or me, or his family if he has any. This body will be his new identity. And I will set him up right."

"How so, sir?"

"I'm leaving him in capable hands, I am." *Aidan showed signs of shiftiness, as though he knew the answer that followed.* "You and your siblings will be his best friends."*As if by magic, at the very moment, Alina and Tavor shuffled into the ship. They were wearing their helmets, yet Atuna could tell they were agitated.*

:: Sir, if I may object- ::

"You may not, Tavor. This is your next assignment: You, Aidan and Alina will escort the new Mapio wherever he goes. Tell him whatever he wants to hear and take him where he wants to go, but keep him off the path of the Dark Side. Beyond that, there is nothing he isn't aloud to do." *Atuna turned to face his commandos.* "I trust your judgments."

:: What purpose does this serve, sir? :: *said Alina as she removed her helmet.* "You never give things out of the charity of your heart. What motives are you hiding?"

"I feel the smallest bit guilty for his untimely death. Everything wrong with that man was my fault; he followed me to Bassadro when the Plague War went south and we left Belkadan, and before that I had tried to be a shining example of Light for him. Then I shifted to my other personality to preserve my own life; it affected him adversely. Had he stayed by my side more closely, he might not have gone renegade for those years after. Sure, he became powerful -- probably as powerful as I am -- and he learned a great many things I could never do. But it poisoned his mind. You three will keep that from happening again."

*The Maxwell siblings looked to each other, then back at Atuna, silently agreeing to his proposal.*

"Wonderful. We depart immediately."

"Departing? Where are we going?"

"Where anyone would leave his amnesiac best friend: Nar Shaddaa, with no money and a basic set of clothes."

*The ship's droid pilot took off into space after he said that, leaving the remnants of the commandos back on the station to clean up the mess.*

Re: Hangars

*The test subject rounded a corner were she completely lost the sound of the footsteps following her. Still running at full speed, she sprinted though a door that lead straight into the hangars. The site that greeted her made her skid to a stop. There she was greeted by man new sights and sounds that completely bombarded her senses. The sights, sounds and smells were nearly overwhelming as she managed to cautiously make her way across the hangar. Her wonder was short lived when she heard someone shouting from behind her, turning around she saw several armed guards standing in the door she had just come through. The lead guard spotted her just as she spotted them, the man raised his arm and pointed at her.*

"There's the freak! Get her!"

*The guards charged forward just as their target darted into the crowd of onlookers. Pushing her way through the crowd, the test subject made a mad dash toward a nearby freighter that was powering up to leave. Even though she had just seen the ship, something in her mind told her what it was. Catching a break in the crowd, the subject sprinted at full speed for the ship and made a mad jump for the cargo ramp just as it was closing. She landed hard on the cargo bay floor a split second before the ramp slammed shut behind her. Sitting up she could feel the freight vibrating beneath her as it lifted off the hangar floor and drifted out of the hangar.*
