Re: Hpaq

*As thousands of more transports drop, the phase-2 Marauders are literally pouring out into the streets. 30,000 are landing within the the western edge of the city, taking whatever ground they can. With mecha-war beasts, elite droids, and mecha-war hounds and Mecha-war Marauder's, commando class, any ground they can't immediately take they blow apart. The remaining 40,000 soldiers continue to land just outside the city, where they will push through once the area has been taken. The first flights of hawks are now within in the city limits, and go to work at once with cruise missiles aimed at the AT-ST's. It's easy pickings firing from kilometers away, or moving in at super high speeds.

In addition the first of the light vehicles make their way into the city as well, the mecha-war berserker's. This class of mech was specifically designed to fight in tight city streets. Already a 1.4 meters taller than the AT-ST and much faster, they can sprint through the streets and hit the AT-ST's from the sides or behind. Using their massive swords they can take a leg off or stab into the crew area. And it's ray shielding allows for each mech to get close enough to an AT-ST to either knock it over with a big tackle or to make a big swing at it. Their claws can also make short work of the imperial vehicle as well, while the E-web blaster cannons can mop up infantry.

While the first of the soldiers kill and are killed in the streets, the rest of the vehicles are almost done setting up. The artillery is nearly completed and the MMP's are setting up for a massive salvo. The behemoth's, Monsters and Demon's are beginning their march towards the city as well. At the landing zone, the general in chare makes a call out on all Mandalorian channels.*

=General 1=
Attention all brothers, we are nearly done setting up for a massive missile barrage against the eastern half of the city. 10,000 missiles will be bombing several kilometers of terrain. If you are in that area, either leave or get to cover immediately. If you can give us rough coordinates we will do our best to avoid it. You have 5 minutes to alert us.

Ashrah grinned under his helm, holstered his weapons, pointed his hand in the universal gun gesture, and mimed shooting the troopers as he ran through the door, and into the basement of the warehouse. He squatted and couldnt stifle a chuckle as Raams team suddenly burst out laughing. It was refreshing

Re: Hpaq

*The squads advancing on the enemy see the enemy retreating into a building and jump to the logical conclusion: incoming ordinance. But they assume it is fire from the orbiting fleets. They warn the rest of the company who immediately mimic the enemy and rush to the safety of nearby buildings. But they aren't quite quick enough to avoid the what turned out to be a bombing run. The entirety of the four squads that were moving towards the enemy survive, the remainder of their platoons take heavy losses. What used to be two platoons of 50 are now reduced two 29 and 28 troops each. The two platoons flanking the enemy, their positions unknown to the enemy, fair better. The one on the left flank losses 12 stormtroopers and the one on the right losses 8. Contact with the platoon coming in on the enemy's six o'clock is lost, the majority of the platoon being vaporized by a stray proton bomb.

Knowing full well that they may lose track of the enemy, the captain of the company coordinates with the surviving platoons. Since they had been lucky enough to spot the enemy's escape, they knew exactly where they were. As soon as the bombardment begins to slow down the stormtroopers are on the move. With a bombs still falling in the distance, the captain leads two of the four unharmed squads sprinting to the entrance to the basement. Meanwhile the two flanking platoons move from their cover just as quickly and begin to form a perimeter and seal the block off.

With one squad on either side of the door, the captain gives the signal and a corporal kicks in the door. The sergeant of one of the squads had been letting one of his thermal detonators cook off and tosses it in to the building as soon as the door is open.*

*On the western edge of the city...*

*As the infantry clashes with the enemy, 450 Canderous tanks move in to support them. The berserkers may be fast, but the narrow streets of an urban area did not leave a lot of room to dodge. As the berserkers charge forward the Canderous tanks move into their path and attack with their dual mass driver cannons. Behind the tanks the taller AT-ST/a's shoot over the tanks and combine their firepower to take down the berserkers.

Meanwhile, the AT-TE's catch up with the infantry to lend a hand. Firing on the enemy infantry and commando-class troops with their forward anti-personnel cannons, they use their mass-driver turrets to fire high explosive shells at enemy troops attempting to dig into a fortified position.

On the eastern edge of the city, 250 fighter tanks move to the outskirts of the city and begin to circle around to the west at top speed.*

*To the south the low roar of repulsor engines emanates from two Gladiator-class Star Destroyers, as the move rapidly towards the city at an altitude of 1,000 ft. 1,200 Geonosian warriors lift off from the top of the SD's hull and begin flying up to a height of 1,200 ft and heading due north, towards the heart of the city. They wear a laminasteel weave hauberk for armor, as it is light and flexible enough to allow them to fly without difficulty and still offer decent protection. All carry sonic rifles or carbines, a simple knife each, plus various other armaments depending on their rank and role.

Bronze and White squadrons hurtle towards the city, taking out any surviving roof-top observation posts with their lasers on the first pass, with Bronze leader relaying sensor info of the terrain and city below back to the Arild for compilation by one of the ship board computers which would then put the information on a tactical display in the command room in near real-time. The fighters use the same staggered Shield trio formation that Red and Silver squadrons had used over Freedom City.*

Re: Hpaq

*As berserker's engage the enemy vehicles some begin to fall, brought down by the tank's weapons. Those that remain begin to play a little more defensively, waiting for assistance from rocket-troopers. Basilisk's now rain down on them from above, and Mandalorian assault droids push in to assist, firing their heavy weapons where ever they can. While the ground vehicles draw fire a basilisk can literally dive onto a tank and rip it to shreds or launch missiles into it. Hawk's are still launching in heat seeking missiles as well. A much more solid foothold is being formed from the sheer numbers, however to the credit of the stormtroopers, the fighting is intense and bloody. Squads will fall back to draw in AT-TE's or Canderous tanks, and once they are in Hounds and Mecha-Marauder's jump down on them, firing off gatling guns or grenade launchers. There are over 100 casualties so far, but that number is mounting.

The AT-AP's are now fully deployed, and from their far off distance begin targeting the tanks moving in from the Eastern edge. MMP's are also set up, and are finishing the last preparations for a mass missile barrage into the city. All behemoth's and Monsters are set up, and assist with the push against the fighter tanks. Behemoths form up first behind their shields, firing ion cannons while monster's fire off their own mass driver rounds. It makes for an effective moving wall of steel. Demon's have now full deployed, and are now assisting the infantry units in the city. A team of soldiers calls flags a street where an AT-TE is, then the Demon fires a heavy turbolaser round at it, often multiple to get through a building. While all this is happening the infantry outside the city have formed up, and now all 40,000 are pushing in to assist the 30,000 original. They get onto roofs, they move in the sewers, or through alley ways. The streets are now flooded with red and black marauder armor.*

Re: Hpaq

*AT-ST/a's begin to fall under the barrage of heating missiles and AT-TE's die from turbolaser and ion cannon fire. The casualties suffered by the defenders were only a little higher than that of the enemy, but that would soon change as enemy infantry and vehicles press into the city. Soldiers die as enemy starfighters begin their attack runs on the observation posts, but the squads maintain their positions. They relay vital information to the command staff and allow for the defending forces to react quickly and strategically. Squads are picked to replace any observation squads that are completely lost.

Though their losses grow, the 1st Legion and the Defense Force manage to hold the line. Those in command seemed to be of a similar mind as the enemy. Hundreds of stormtroopers are sent into the sewer system in a effort to out flank and surprise the enemy, but they weren't anticipating enemy contact. The large number of Mandos pouring into the sewers made it hard for invaders to be especially stealthy and alerted the stormtroopers to their presence. The men in the sewers stop in their tracks and retreat back to junctions where the underground tunnels cross each other. Activating the ray-shields built into their armor (standard equipment for troopers of the Imperial 2nd Army but not the Vulptereen Defense Force), they wait for the enemy to come into view. As the Mandos move through the small confines of the sewer system tunnels their large numbers are negated. The Mandos come into view and the stormtroopers open fire.

On the surface the heavy weapons specialists get to work. From secure positions behind the standard stormtroopers and the support gunners, the specialists with missile launchers begin firing on targets. Some target the basilisks as the war droids swoop in to attack with 3t3 missiles, but are not in time to save some of the tanks. Many set their sights on the advancing shield wall made up of Behemoths. Using Savant missiles, they fire them into the air and over the shields of the Behemoths. The missiles activate above the large droids, changing direction sharply and diving straight down on the tops of the droids. Meanwhile the heavy weapons troops equipped with grenade launchers lob thermal detonators over cover and into the midst of the enemy infantry.

On the outskirts of the city the fighter tanks of the armored cavalry regiment come into view of the enemy artillery units and immediately come under fire. Only a handful are damaged or lost, and the regiment immediately begins evasive maneuvers. Moving at high speed, they were very hard targets to hit. They ignore the enemy attacking them, weaving around and between them to reach their targets: the MMPs. Slowing down to improve accuracy, they open fire on the missile-based artillery. The tanks closest to their targets use their laser cannons while the others launch thermal detonator missiles. The regiment of fighter tanks move through the formation of MMPs, firing at every opportunity, until they pass the enemy vehicles and move back up to top speed.

Back in the city, the defensive line continues to fight as it has done so. The support gunners lay down bursts of suppressing fire at clumps of infantry, while the standard stormtroopers target the enemy with burst shots from their rifles. Men from the Vulptereen Defense Force are deployed to the alley ways and are able to cut down any enemies that venture into the "bottlenecks". The remaining AT-ST/a's switch targets from the Berserkers to the Mecha-Hounds and Marauders, adding their repeating blasters and concussion grenade launchers to the fray. The AT-TE's hold their ground despite their losses, continuing to target enemy foot soldiers with their anti-personnel cannons and using high explosive shells on enemy hardpoints. The MZ-8s finally reach the battle and begin charging their cannons.

Meanwhile, 300 MALs begin setting up a secondary defensive line 500 meters behind the primary line. And the forces held back from the fighting begin fortifying the area around Arakyd Industries.*

Hpaq City - Warehouse

*One of the advantages of being a General was that Raam had fairly wide access to assets within the loose hierarchy of Clan Australis. As the bombardment faded, he was watching a real-time update of the overhead view of the building that he and his men had taken refuge in. The basement protected them from bombs and other nasties, but it was despite all that, a basement. Back in the old days Raam's first CO, Lieutenant Aldo Reyn had told him; "Son, there are many disadvantages to fighting in a basement. First and fore most, you're fighting in a shabla basement!" So, you can understand, he didn't intend to stay. Unfortunately, there were large numbers of troopers even now moving in on the building. Unless he took steps, they were going to have a bad time.*

*Raam linked in with Mand'alor te Ramikad and spoke directly to the fire control officer, who he knew was monitoring.*

=General Raam Australis=
:: Time on target the area around this building. ::
*The officer made the adjustments to his console. Outside, thirty of the heavy DBY-827 type turbolasers targeted a perimiter around the warehouse precisely. They fired on the warehouse containing the ground team, though not exactly all at once.*

*From within a few meters of the walls out to two hundred meters, everything would be vaporised. The time-on-target barrage fired the guns in a precisely timed and calculated sequence that ensured ALL thirty of the blasts arrived on target simultaneously, giving no opportunity to anything caught within the area of effect.*

*As soon as the order went in, Raam gave the signal to move out, and four commandos rushed for the exit to the basement. Just then, the CRUMP! of the TD exploding overhead sent a jolt of adrenaline through all of them. Four of the beskar-armoured commandos charged up and out of the basement, with Raam and three more commandos close behind. The front four had their Nephilim carbines raised. If they sighted any targets, the burst fire at eight rounds per second, with the projectiles moving at over three kilometers per second, meant the targets were doomed. Right behind them came three more commandos with Nephilim IIs, and Raam himself.*

OYA! *came the yell from the throats of the Australis Ori'rami'kade as they charged out of the basement. Raam had both Cherub II pistols up, and even though he was thrice the age of his three current squadmates who instinctively covered their General, he felt the rush of charging headlong into combat every bit as much as they did. Raam didn't get many opportunities to get down in the mud for real these days. He hadn't lost much of his edge, and he knew this might be close to his last chance. The poor bastards on the other side didn't have a chance.*

*As the men burst forth from the basement like their enemies' worst nightmare, outside, the turbolaser barrage arrived, and the building rocked. All the lights went out and every window for a kilometer that was still intact burst. Even inside, the wave of heat and pressure, not to mention the blast, meant that every man had to steady himself, lest he be knocked over. Raam yelled as it subsided.*

Let's blow this pop stand!

*It was not the voice of an experienced and calm soldier that answered, but that of an exited sixyearold that just found out how maches work. Duke even put his head out of his rather fine cover to look around and then up over head to see the incoming, and that is why he was left behind... he wanted to see the fireworks.

The story of Duke is rather simple. Good Mandalorian, great combatant, awesome chef. He could have been something big, even maybe taking Raams place, he has the head for it, but there is his problem with explosives. He loves explosives and sometimes looses his focus, may it be combat, cooking, or damn, even sex. It is things like this that Mandalorians usually troll eachother for, the weaknesses they have and are known, but is it really a smart idea to make fun of someone who loves explosions?
It is a liability. So, even if you want Duke on your side while in a fight, he could never be anything more then a Supercommando...
... and that is what he likes to be anyhow.

But at that moment when the bombs started falling? He was in Mando nirvana. As the rear flanking enemies wanished in an orb of fire, split into atoms and molecules, as that lovely red and orange and black painted a picture for him above and between the streets he saw, it was the greatest thing he ever saw... even better then sex. And then an other explosion, closer, so he could see it better, and an other, even closer and then...

Oh shebs.

Throwing his weapons into the trash dumpster, grabbing its side and swinging in himself just as he realised he was alone, even the enemies scattered... he realised that he will have time to realise he was glaring at incoming bombardment when he well got into safety... wich wasnt promissing. With the same move that got him into the dumpster, he shut its lid. The container wias filled with cardboard, paper, duraplast and of course, the innevitable food residue from some god damned houseparty. Entire thing smelled like post expireingdate puke. He saw it in front of him, as he got out of the dumpster if he survived this... "Hey, Vode! Come look at this! Here comes Puke Australis!"*

BOOOOOOOOM!

BOOOOOM! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

ETC!

*As the force of the explosions came... Duke didnt know what was going on. It was like being put into a giant washing machine filled with filth, and someone turns on the Centrifugation. All he knew was that he needed to hold onto the lid of the container (flapping down kind) or die trying. He even thought that if the fumes inside the container would catch fire, he was done for... He held onto life, even as he felt the container flying, it hit something, he was shoved in one corner, then it flew again, stopped, he was shoved in an other. After a while, he realised he hadnt held onto the lid, it was stuck, and he had pulled his knees up as high as he could and put his hands around his head...

Longest 10-15 seconds of his life...

Then silence... he himself didnt hear nothing. His Buyce sistems had broken from the repeated beatings, his hearing filter gone, comm gone, surely that piece of Di'kut jetpack is a goner too, he is lucky if it doesnt go off in here. He was hurting in most of his body, his knees took a good beating, same for his elbows. It could have been worse, at least the trash was soft. What was a real pain in the shebs was that he could now smell it. That meant that the enviromental seals on his Beskargam were broken. Great.

He tried to oppen the lid, and it didnt go... he tried again, started kicking... nothing. Something was blocking from the other side. He started working on his left underarm datapad, to try and kick in the Comm again when it started to rain again, now smaller but more nummerous explosions. It shook, it blasted... it was crazy. Wasnt as bad as the last one though, and he was thankfull. The Container didnt move. It seemed to be lodged rather well into something, and he will have to think himself out of this mess.

Darth Malum wrote:With a bombs still falling in the distance, the captain leads two of the four unharmed squads sprinting to the entrance to the basement.

*surely the squads storming the basement didnt give a second glance to the Garbage container lodged about 2 meters above ground into the wall of the warehouse, a couple meters from the entrence itself. It was deformed, burned, and upside down. Half of it on the outside, half of it on the inside. Its diagonal lid was blocked by a couple bricks just at the edge of the hole the container is stuck in. By the time the squads rush in, Duke had started to try and fix his comp sistems, to get communication to the outside world... With his back to the lid.*

Re: Hpaq

*Fighting has bogged down for the tens of thousands of soldiers awaiting for the major push. The enemy was holding well, however as these Mandalorians had been trained since coming out of the tank to fight stormies, it was to be expected. They begin using their own technology against the Imperials to great effect: the jet troopers move to the roofs along with the mecha-war beasts and begin raining down hell from above, using an unexpected front on the enemy; the snipers either use controlled roofs or distance to take on their targets; heavy troopers begin split between setting up defensive positions or firing at vehicles coming through the streets; the electrical troopers and flamers focus down in the sewers where initial surprises lead to big casualties. They now either fire their electrical guns into the water to fry the enemy, lay mines to create traps or they adjust the nozzle and fill the tunnels with fire. The "normal" soldiers assist where they can and make major pushes where they can. However across the line the Generals have been slowing down the line. It is nearly at a stand still at this point. Berserker's have fallen back, the smaller mechs as well, and the air units have turned their attention to the tank units moving west. It has grown noticeably quieter.

The reason this is so is because the MMP's are ready to fire. Having been stationed a mile away it kept them a safe distance from the enemy, and with the Behemoths, Monsters, Demons and AT-AP's in the way getting to them would have been insanely tough. While missiles begin taking out limbs or heads of the Behemoths, they continue to push: their thick armor was designed to take heavy laser fire, and the control station is buried deep in the bodies. Each mech has multiple anti-vehicle weapons across its body, and once in range they begin to fire at the approaching vehicles. With missiles firing and turrets opening up from hundreds of guns along with the adjusted fire of the mechs' heavy weapons it is like charging a spear wall. The AT-AP's add to it by adjusting fire to mass their shots at the nearest targets, and with a lot of distance in between the tanks and them, they have time for multiple shots. The MMP's, having received the order from the generals in charge, open fire. 10,000 cruise missiles fire out in mass waves from the grouping. The sky begins to darken as they move to the city, just beyond the Mandalorian line. As they begin to fall in masses whole blocks will be obliterated, buildings will implode and entire areas laid to waste. 10,000 missiles begin impacting with more force than Kaine's bombs. After the sky becomes lit again, the ground shakes from the sheer volume of fire coming down on the defenders. Several fall within Mandalorian lines, inflicting casualties, but nearly all fall onto the approaching defenders. And before the barrage is even finished a massive roar from tens of thousands of throats fill the air. A blood lust roar as the men begin to charge into the fray, moving to attack the devastated regions of the city and their defenders. They charge forward in a surge with the goal to overwhelm any defender not killed or knocked senseless by the ground-shaking blasts.

Up in space, the navy gets a request to move in. All 3 Victory-1 class Star Destroyers break away from the fleet and move in to get into atmosphere over the city.*

Re: Hpaq

*As the black cloud of missiles rises into the sky, the engineers attached to the Roon Platoon have finished their work and are waiting for the green light...*

*They had only been waiting for five minutes before the emergency orders came in to begin the energy transfer process. The original plan had called for them to wait for the right moment, but it looked like there were more pressing matters.*

=Lieutenant Monta=
Emergency orders! Start the process NOW!

*With everything set and on standby all that was left was the flip of a switch. The process is started and immediately the temperature of the building jumps by ten degrees as all of the power from the city is routed through the conduit and into the shield generator in the Arakyd Industries district.*

=Lieutenant Monta=
Everybody brace yourselves, we a lit up like a...festive tree of some sort. We may be getting a nice Mando space-borne care package. And watch the exits, we may get company too.

*Lights wink out, cooling units shut down, anything and everything connected to the city's power grid shuts down as power is drained from it and put into the shield generator. With the minor repairs to the generator complete it is fully ready for use when the massive amount of power is poured into it. As the missiles come raining in the shield generator is reactivated and it catches the majority of missiles before they can reach the city. 3,000 missiles manage to make it past the circumference of the shield before it is activated. They fall across the city, destroying buildings and leveling blocks. Some even land at Arakyd Industries and within the defensive line, killing many troops as they do.

As destruction rains down on the city a transmission full of tactical data is transmitted out of the system.*

*Meanwhile, where the troops are confronting the Mandalorian commandos...*

*Between the orbital strike and the surprise rush by the commandos the company is wiped out. Now all that lay between the commandos were 8,000 stormtroopers and almost 300 vehicles.*

*Back at the defensive line...*

*The defense of the city was saved by the redeployment of the shield, had it not been for that the defensive line would have crumbled right then and there. But it would not be that easy for the empire's Mandalorian foes.

Casualties rise as the Mandalorians take positions on the rooftops and fire down into the defenders. But the enemy had slowed down, expecting for their missile barrage to do their job for them. That was a mistake, they lost their momentum. Though they were out numbered and their own numbers are dropping, the defenders now had an advantage. With the enemy air units turning their attention to the fighter tanks outside the city they, along with the other units dealing with the tanks, were cut off from the city. So the tanks, their current job done, disengage and head away from the enemy.

Within in the city the battle rages. The MZ-8 heavy tanks are fully charged and ready to fire, they swivel and fire on buildings being fortified by the enemy. The 300 MALs making the second defensive are now fully deployed and ready for the enemy. The AT-ST/a's fall back a little, leaving the Canderous tanks and AT-TE's to support the infantry. The stormtroopers begin deploying entire platoon's to try and dislodge the enemy occupying smaller buildings along the front line. Activating their ray shields, they lob a thermal detonator into the building before lighting up the room with fully automatic blaster fire.

After the initial encounter in the sewers the enemy begins to make head way with their flamethrowers. Using as much cover as possible stormtroopers pour more blaster fire down the tunnels at the flametroopers. Accuracy wasn't much of a concern, the small confines of the sewers didn't leave much room for the enemy. If they missed the guy in front, chances were they would hit someone behind him. In an attempt to stem the tide, the Stormtroopers fire ion flares down the dark tunnels. The bright flares would momentarily blind the enemy while the defenders lob cooked off thermal detonators down the tunnels.*

*From beneath a mound of rubble immediately outside the entrance to the warehouse where Ashrah and the rest of the commandos who had met up with him had taken shelter during the bombardment, their came an angry curse and then a low groan. The rock, durasteel, and other bits of debris began to shift as a bulging appeared in the center of the pile, and then Fenris broke through, extricating himself from the rubble one leg at a time before reaching back in to retrieve his rifle, which was white with dust.

His durasteel armor was blackened over most of its surface, and dents and dings covered it. The back of his helmet had been bashed in, the pauldron that should have been attached to his left shoulder was instead lying on the other side of the street, and putting weight on his left leg was next to impossible, thanks to a piece of shrapnel that had put a dent on the outside flank of his knee. Shaking his head to clear it, Fenris activated his buy'ce's comm unit and spoke through it, his voice obviously muzzy and laced with static.*

:: "Right behind you, big guy." ::

*Shaking his head again, Fenris began to limp after Ashrah. When it became obvious to the soldier that he wasn't going to be able to keep up, he instead dropped back several paces and brought his WESTAR-M5 blaster rifle up, pressing the stock into his shoulder, and peered through the scope at the street ahead, keeping an eye out for the rest of the city's defenders, intending to cover the advance squad with a rain of blaster fire and perhaps speed their progress through the city streets.*

Something was kicking from the inside... something... and then, the two bricks holding the lid broke off, and the lid flew oppen. Falling out was the big mandalorian, Duke himself, covered in food trash and other litter stuck to his Beskargam, with him, falling out was his blaster and Flechette launcher. Worst of all, his Rocket launcher, in two pieces.

At once as he landed, he grabbed the closest weapon to his hands and scanned his surroundings, finding his fellow supercommandoes he dropped it, and got up to his all fours. He shook his head, and spoke. Realising that nobody can hear him, he got to his knees, holstered his weapons, and then took off his helmet, hooking it to his gear on his back.*

"So... how has your day been going?"

*He was smelling from composing biological trash, he had a green and black coloured half eaten pizzaslice on his chest, and used napkins sticking to his Beskargam all over. His face was rather cranky, if I may let myself use an understatement.
He reached into one of his pockets, took out a large cigarr, lit it, and then stood up.... and started running after his squadmates. He was limping too, but he was getting used to the pain so he was gaining on them. When he got next to the two, he just looked up, and shook his head.*

:: You look like Sithspit. glad you are still alive. Both of you. Lets take a different route. These troopers may be dead, but I can promise there are more. A lot more.....Lets go......RAAM!! we are taking a different route. Meet you at the Generator. ::

He nodded at Dukes assessment of the Shield, and then trotted off to the left of Raam and his troops, keeping low, and moving fast....

:: duke, get your buy'ce figured out. I'd rather you not lose your head over this....Keep sharp boys. We arent out of this yet.. ::

Re: Hpaq

*The shield had prevented a lot of damage, but a single ship got through first. Finally entering from the East, a lone transport was landing in an abandoned square. 3 generals sprinted out and began to move out with their new ally.*

=3=
9, you're with me. 14, pair up with the new guy. Stay tight and let's move. Our target is the enemy command center or shield generator, where ever they may be. Victories will be here within minutes, they're be working with us. Let's move.

*The generals keep to the shadows, quiet as a mouse in comparison to the hellish roar happening out west. 9 pulls out a device that begins tracking where the majority of comm calls are coming from. Finding a central communication's hub would lead to the command center, or a target which could cripple communication.

As they move...

The missile barrage was less than 50% effective. Though the damage was intense it still wasn't quite enough. Casualties soar as they move in. Some ground is made, but once again the line is stopped. There's no point in wasting lives when you can retry with a new load. So the Marauder's hold again. This allows the mechs to continue to get close.

All 10 demons are now firing nearly non-stop with their heavy turbolasers at a concentrated point of the shield. The behemoths are getting very close as well, to the point that a few are just outside the city. The Monster's continue to push up to the north. It'll take 10 minutes for the MMP's to reload, but this time is used wisely: while the armor force moves in closer, the air units do what they can to hit the fleeing tanks. The shield is preventing most air attacks from the inside, however the Victory's are now in atmosphere and are in position. Coordinating fire with the Demon's, the three ships now pour fire onto the shield.

Trapped inside, the general in charge orders several companies worth of jet troopers, 40 in total, to move together towards the target. Being supported by 25 mecha-war beasts jumping with them, they move from block to block towards the generator. Their goal is to take it out by any means necessary*

Re: Hpaq

*The Stormtroopers of the 1st Legion take heavy losses alongside the Vulptereen Defense Force, but manage to hold the line. With the shield up again, the defending forces get a short respite from the enemy air and artillery support. With the latest assault turned back, the troops and vehicles cease fire. They take the time given to them to fortify the line and fill in the gaps left by those now dead.

The fighter tanks outside the city split up into five companies and continue to move away from the enemy.*

Re: Hpaq

*There approximately 67,000 living foot soldiers left, casualties were mounting pretty high. Another 2,000 were wounded however, bringing the force down to 65,000. Now that all forces were joined up, the generals put together another plan to break the lines. Though the MMP's were nearly loaded the shields were still up. They needed them down now. So 25 berserker's and 50 mecha-war marauders were sent to the northern end of the city. There they joined up with an entire division, 20,000 soldiers, preparing for a grand charge. The rest were pulled to the southern end, totaling 180 berserkers and 140 mecha-marauders. The Mandalorian Assault Droids had been held in reserve for the most part, 240 were still active. 40 are sent up north with the rest filing up to move south. The hounds are held in reserve, but the remaining 4,500 mecha-war beasts are split dead even north to south.

After all troops had been arranged and the mechs were ready, the signal was given. At once the northern flank rushed forward behind the shields of the assault droids and the berserker's. The shields allow for the big vehicles to take on the enemy armor while troopers move in behind them. From above and below the marauders make a massive push, sweeping through buildings and streets. If there are emplacements than they use their grenade launchers. If that doesn't work then rockets. If that fails flamethrowers, if that fails snipers, and on and on. The mechs engage hand to hand with the enemy vehicles, often pairing up or triple teaming them. There is a more careful charge this time, none of the blind stupidity or expectations of earlier. It is measured but intense.

The south holds, for now.*

Re: Hpaq

*Duke shook his head.*

"Outgoing Comm dead, Sensors dead, HUD dead because the wisor is cracked. All I could see was something big, black and uggly. I was so happy to see you."

*A moment of retorical silence.*

"Heh."

*He grinned with that large cigarr in his mouth. Bickering... if he was bickering, he was still up for some more fighting. He pulled his heavy blaster into his hand, and got ready. He moved as the others, not as clear targets in the middle of the street but always running next to the wall, where he could take cover behind something, in an alley, or in a doorway.*

"Got my ammo left, the launcher is broken, so I left it. The jetpack is done for, but the fuel inside can still cause a bang. Got half a dozen demo packs for the nasty jobs. You look well too Vode, what gundark did chew on you?"

*He glanced at fenris with a nodd. It was his way of showing it was nice that he was still around.*

"And yeah... all RAAM has caused thus far is take my kills and try to kill me with our own guns. We do this, and we do this alone, let the good ole general play the bait."

*The small group was getting further away from Raam and his forces, while getting closer to the shield generator and the troopers waiting there... will they walk into an ambush? Will they find it before?

See it in the next issue of Ash, Duke and the New Kid!*

Re: Hpaq

*Both Gladiator-class Star destroyers open fire on the light tanks outside of the city, each twin turbolaser crew firing at will. White and Bronze squadrons also begin targeting the tanks from the sky, using their missiles to strike from a distance. They make shallow dives, fire upon confirming a target lock, and then climb back up to hight of 4000 ft.

2,400 Geonosian warriors open fire with their sonic rifles, aiming for enemy troop concentrations beneath the shield. Their shot's wouldn't make it through, on the first volley, but eventually the 12,00 sonic rounds per minute, spread across the southern edge of the already damaged shield. They maintain their altitude at 1,200 ft, watching the mando'ad force to the west for any action, lest they fire on friendly forces.*

Re: Hpaq

They moved quickly, and as quietly as they could, avoiding patrols and vehicles alike. With Raam and his troops causing a rukus elsewhere, it was relatively simple for the three of them to move almost completely undetected. Soon enough they were crouched in an alley, looking across at the shield generator station....Now they just needed to get inside, and blow it up...Simple. Right?

:: Alright gentlemen....How do you propose we get in, set charges, and get out......alive? ::

He slid to a seated position and looked at Fenris and Duke both, waiting for an option....He couldnt tell how many troopers stationed here, nor how much vehicle weaponry there was, as they were at the rear of the complex....
