Re: Hyllyard City

*Harlock downed the rest of his whiskey.* *This girl apparently didn't want any company. He had just thought that she needed some entertainment while she waited for who ever, but he was wrong. And the glint in her eye unnerved him. He didn't want any trouble but that is all this girl seemed capable of giving. "So much for meeting a decent woman anymore," Harlock thought to himself.* *He raised his hands up defensively as he stood.*

"Look, I'll go. I just thought you would like a distraction"

Re: Hyllyard City

*The mocking smile on Erin's face disappeared as the man stood up, holding out his hands defensively, obviously finally taking the hint. A cold expression on her face, the woman extended her right hand, the inside of her wrist facing down towards the table, and then flapped her fingers at him in a 'shooing' motion. Dropping that hand back down to the table, she drummed her fingers on the wood several times, staring up at the guy with her amethyst eyes, sharp and ready if he got angry and started trouble. Her left hand hovered near the edge of her jacket, ready to pull it aside to give her access to her pistol, if need be.*

Erin: "Buzz off."

*That business now taken care of, Erin drained the last of her lomine ale and gave a refreshed sounding sigh. Taking one last, long draw on her cigarra, she dropped the butt of the thing into the dregs of her ale and stood, blowing a cloud of smoke out through her nostils as she stepped around the table, shouldered past the man, and headed for the bar.*

*Once there, she signalled for the bartender to come her way. He was a big man, balding and greying but with rippling muscles that gave testament to his past as a powerful man, probably having served time in the military. A sagging gut hung over his belt, and a thick beard seemed to make up for the lack of hair on his head. He stalked her way, but she could tell from the raising of one of his eyebrows that he knew what she was.*

*Leaning in, Erin spoke in a conspiratorial whisper.*

Erin: "There's a training facility somewhere around her, yeah?"

Re: Hyllyard City

Cain Velius wrote:Cain burst through the outlying tree-line, looking very much like a walking bush.

The mottled coloring of his enviro-suit did nothing to help disguise the dirt, and the leaves and twigs stuck to the exposed fabric. He dropped his bags, brushing himself off. He could do nothing about the mud on his boots right now. Inside his helmet, he licked his lips nervously and looked up.

Hyllyard City rose before him a good 800 feet away.

‘City’ was pushing it. It was more like a very very very big town. Not that this mattered much to Cain. He wanted to enter and exit without much of a scene, although what he wanted and what actually happened were never very similar. His mere existence brought attention.
Running through the plan in his head, he grabbed his bags and ran the rest of the way, slowing as he neared the city. He entered the crowds with a casual stroll, feigning obliviousness to the stares he felt spearing through his back.

Find the ship, get my money, and get out, he chanted in his head.

The spaceport was busy enough. Cain felt very alone amidst the hustle of beings, but he was used to it. Holding his luggage close, the strange suited man cast his gaze around as he stood in the middle of the square.
All he saw were people.
Grinding his teeth at his shortness, Cain snaked through the crowds, searching for higher ground, or some sort of sign that would point him in the right direc--

Ah. There it was. A sign directing traffic to and from the spaceport. He started towards it, the hum of vessels landing and taking off loud in his ear receptors.

A good forty-eight minutes later and some serious sneaking around, Cain had given up trying to retrieve his stolen money. 'The Constant', which was sitting serenely in Bay 59, had been locked down tighter than a newborn's eviro-suit, and he'd had zero success trying to break in.

Time to figure something else out.

Hoisting his luggage once more, Cain ventured further into the bays, whatever anger or frustration at his current predicament hidden behind his helmet. The past few months had been a series of mishaps. Every plan he’d made concerning ‘his’ mission had fallen through, and so far, he hadn’t come up with anything to help the Moruntec plight. He also hadn’t been able to track down his stolen ship. And now, he had no money left. He kept reminding himself that he was new at this whole thing, and that it had only been a few months since…well, since he’d put on the suit and vowed to bear the burden of this mission.

But maybe it was time to change tactics. Maybe he couldn’t do this alone.

Maybe he needed help. And there was only one person whose loyalty might have held fast all these years.

Re: Hyllyard City

It didn't take Cain long to find a transport. The line of beings waiting for entrance into the bulky passenger freighter was long and thick. He stood back, watching from a distance. Apparently, your luggage was taken from you at the end of the line, right after you paid your fare and entered the vessel. The luggage was tagged and tossed into a pile near the loading ramp. You needed a ticket to give to the captain, which you bought from the kiosk opposite the ship. You entered in small groups.

This would be easy.

Cain hated cheating his way on-board, but with no money, how else was he supposed to leave this planet? The captain and his second in command, a female with more muscle than hair on her head, didn't look like the kind of spacers willing to help a person out with a free ride. But they didn't look like the kind that were keenly observant, either.

The line was moving. A group had been sorted. Time to act.

Moving as slowly as he could, Cain waited until the droid lugging baggage had turned away before he tossed his own onto the pile. He didn't need a tag; he'd find them once on-board easily enough. Joining the group unnoticed was a bit harder. His suit made him interesting, and despite his best efforts, people still craned their necks out of the line to watch him as he snuggled up to a particularly dull-looking Bothan. The captain gave him a look, waving him back, but by that time the group had just entered the cabin.

Cain broke off immediately, heading away down the hallways.

Re: Hyllyard City

He found himself in a storage room packed full of various crates. And, also, all the passenger luggage.

Well, at least that was lucky.

No sooner had he found a hiding spot, the droid came in, lugging bags and boxes. It dropped them unceremoniously in the middle of the compartment and left, repeating this dance until the last bag was on-board. Then, it shut the lights and closed the door as the ship rumbled to life.

Cain exhaled in relief and adjusted himself amongst the baggage, wondering where the ship was bound. He hoped it wasn't far from where he wanted to go.

The vessel, named 'Jolly Blu', left Myrkr.

Re: Hyllyard City

*A Mandalorian shuttle lands in Hyllyard on the landing pads at the Mandalorian HQ. Loader droids unload the cargo, and transport it inside. Once there, instead of being stored onsite it is taken down into the sublevels, and transported by tube transport to Cerar Kandosii. Security remains at normal levels, so if they were being observed it would look like everything was normal, rather than giving away that something important was in transit.*

Re: Hyllyard City

*Inside the Mando HQ, the one hundred Ysalamiri on bolo trees begin to be painstakingly and methodically transferred from the trees to special nutrient frames. These frames are designed to fit inside the hull of a Werlaara stealth bomber, rather than the smaller more compact frames that were designed to be carried on a commando's back.

Once the transfer procedure is complete, and the few ysalamiri that didn't survive the process have been disposed of, the load of nutrient frames is loaded into a waiting shuttle.*

*The loaded shuttle glides off the Mando HQ landing pad in Hyllyard City and heads almost straight up, towards orbit, and a scheduled rendezvous.*

Re: Hyllyard City

[quote="Kaine"]*The unique invasion alert warning of Clan Australis blared from the loudspeakers in Hyllyard City as clearly and loudly as it did in the tunnels and caverns of Cerar Kandosii. Heads turned for a moment as the alert began, then everyone tripled his or her pace, military personnel running to battle stations, and civilians getting out of the way, heading to their homes, or to shelter. Every vod worth his salt knew what the playing of that particular music meant. The sky was about to catch fire. The enemy was coming. It both alerted them and fired them up, bringing adrenaline to the fore, reinvigorating the troops for whom the endless grind of waiting was over, and combat was approaching...*

*The hangar seemed to fill with YVH droids and commandos, and as the last Bes'uliik fighters were readied for launch, the commandos prepared to secure the massive blast doors, sealing the hangar off from the outside world. Around the Command Canter, seals were checked and rechecked, and the security personnel in concert with tech crews were carefully doing emcon sweeps to ensure that no transmissions or energy signatures made it out of the base.

In the streets, civilians were getting undercover, as the slower offworlders cottoned on to what was happening and ran for cover also. The only ones in evidence were the black and green commandos of Clan Australis. They were rushing to armory bunkers or to battle stations to defend the City, and people still not in cover got out of their way in a hurry. The locals knew what that alarm meant. Last time it had sounded, Hyllyard had been spared, but it had been a close thing.*

*Two heavy transport ships are prepared and loaded. Fleet and securit personnel are the main cargo, along with supplies and personal effects. Once loaded, the two craft take off from Hyllyard spaceport, heading up towards space.*
