Acclamator-class assault ship, The Endless - Artificial Intelligence Mainframe (After refueling in orbit over Corellia)

*Constanza laughs at the overlord comment, then tilts her head to the side inquisitively when Avvie follows that up by saying that she needs to leave. Arching an eyebrow, she turns from Avvie to the terminal, her breath catching in her throat as she reads the screen, the actual content, disturbing as it is, filtered through her plastic grasp on reality so that it conforms to her delusions, made even moreso.* *A single thought manages to make it's way through the flood of panic: they've found her.*

*As her heartbeat increases, the sudden panic and attendant physiological changes cause a shifting of her mental facets, her personality state alters to the component that was born from a need to manage such situations, and when the Nagai turns from the screen to Avvie her expression has become less animated, her bearing more stoic, and her voice is a lower pitched monotone as she says calmly and reassuringly (to the image her mind provides of "Constanza"),* "Stay calm, we're not caught yet. *Looking to Avvie, the Nagai, knowing the answer is crucial to determining how to proceed, points to the screen with a gloved finger as she asks,* Has Wright or anyone else aboard the Endless seen this yet?"

*The Nagai nods her head, thinking that the fact no one has seen the message yet is fortunate, allowing them to move freely to effect their departure.* *Even if the AI can keep the message from the crew of the Endless, their old antagonists are clearly intent on pursuing them - they need to leave now, try and find a way to shake them from their trail. The first step is to get away from the Endless, away from the Caldari Corporation, lose themselves somewhere as they had after their escape before, return to having no ties that might lead to something like what has now occurred.* "Can you not simply delete the message? *the Nagai asks,* The longer we have to . . . *turning to the right, the Nagai seems to listen to something (the image of Constanza is saying), and then shakes her head, saying,* I don't think that . . . *lifting a hand as though the something is protesting, the Nagai, conscious of the seconds ticking away, says in an irritated tone,* Fine, fine, *then turns to Avvie and says,* Can you ensure that Captain Thu'ker, and she alone, gets that message? So that she knows why Cons. . . why we've gone."

Princess

It was funny how a nickname that started off in such a demeaning way could someday grow to mean so much to her. A word that in Hapes meant little, yet meant so much to most other races became the one name she wanted to be called....but only by one person. To hear it fall off his lips like a lilting lullaby to her and her alone. The gravelly tone, to her, the sweetest of all sounds.

He pulled away from her then, the nickname a balm for the wound caused by his absence. Yet again he pushed her away and Nika let him, this time she just let him. She let him move away and she stepped back, her shoulders bowing inwards with anguish, making her already small figure seem positively miniscule in the space around her. She always stood so tall, people thought she was taller, her head always held high. Now, now she didnt feel tall or big or strong. Now she felt, alone. The awesome grief of being alone washed over her and she looked up at Adrien, her eyes glassy and hollow.

I am alone too....

Her words were so soft, a whisper in the emptiness as she turned to walk away.

*The Nagai nods, already heading for the mainframe room's exit and waving a hand (for K8 and "Constanza" to follow) as she says to Avvie,* "You have our gratitude. It would be best, I think, if you could keep the shuttle's departure from the crew. The fewer that know of it, the better, in case any investigation takes place. We'll be in the hangar as soon as we're out of these suits, we have all we need to bring with us already."

*There are a few possessions that the Nagai (or "Constanza") might regret needing to leave behind, but they are used to traveling with little - accustomed to uprooting frequently, they have never been in the habit of compiling anything more than they can easily carry - and as the Nagai's (father's) Tehk'la blades are always on her person, there is nothing in their quarters that cannot be replaced.* *Stopping at the door, the Nagai turns, asking,* "The shuttle? How will we know which one to board? And the pilot, can they be trusted not to mention the journey if questioned later?"

Re: Hyperspace

Acclamator-class assault ship, The Endless - Hangar (After refueling in orbit over Corellia)

*After leaving the artificial intelligence mainframe and changing out of the vac suit, the Nagai, the facet of her consciousness that calls itself Forseti at the forefront, quickly dresses in the pair of black fatigues, black work boots and a black sleeveless t-shirt (s)he had worn to the mainframe and picks up h(er)is toolbelt, checking to see that, among the various pouches containing ("Constanza's) tools, the DC-15s sidearm is holstered and the twin Tehk'la blades are sheathed, before buckling it on and heading for the hangar.*

*Balmora, the Nagai thinks, is too close to the Core Worlds to throw their old foes off their trail, and (s)he is already thinking of where to go once they have left the Acclamator. (The image her mind provides of) "Constanza", having to nearly jog to keep up with the pace she/Forseti is setting, is suggesting ways they can let Draykon know what has caused her departure, and (s)he continues to ignore (the image of) "Constanza", thinking that the best thing they can do for Draykon and the others is to leave without involving them in their escape from their pursuers, who have infiltrated many instituitions that are able to bring the resources and weight of the authorities to their efforts to return them to captivity. If the crew does not know where they have gone or why, it will be safer for them if those hunting them come with questions. Thankfully, the Nagai thinks, K8 agrees, and, as the three take a turbolift to the hangar, manages to convince Constanza of the logic in keeping the crew from making themselves complicit.*

*Stepping off the turbolift, the Nagi looks for the Theta-class shuttle the AI said would be waiting and, spotting it, turns and nods her chin towards it, saying in an atypically low, throaty voice,* "Come on. I think I have an idea of where we should go to lose our pursuers." *Walking for the shuttle, (s)he explains the idea that has risen in her mind.*

=PVT Theodore "Teddy" Jenkins=
*Shaking a cigarette from his pack as, his shift ended and getting food and then some rack time on his mind, the engineer looks over at the diminuitive, pale skinned Nagai as she passes, holding what looks like a discussion with herself - pausing like she's listening every now and then and everything- and shakes his head as he looks over at his co-worker, making a circling motion at the side of his head with his index finger as he says,* "Someone should recommend a visit to the shrink for that chick, huh? There's talking to yourself and then there's plain old crazy."

=PV1 Katarzyna Nowicki=
*Snorting a laugh, the brunette Shownari nods her head in agreement and says,* "Word."

Theta-class T-2c shuttle, Erimentha

*Hitting the panel to raise the boarding ramp, the Nagai walks forward through the airlock leading to the cockpit. (As "Constanza", looking agitated as she chews the nail of her index finger and sits down and K8 stands at her side trying to sound encouraging,) the Nagai looks at the FEG series pilot droid and says,* "Once we depart the Endless, begin plotting a course for Wrea in the Outer Rim."

Re: Hyperspace

*The "Veritas", a Consular-class cruiser, was now on its way to Fondor via the Rimma Trade Route; having just pulled a course-correction over Yag'dhul. A weary, slender Zeltron sat alone at its helm on the bridge. Entering the last leg of their ten-hour trip from Corellia, transporting several children - refugees from the Jedi Academy there - to the planet of Fondor, and yet another Academy there. *(These guys really do get around, don't they?)* He slid his fingers through his long, purple locks of hair as he sighed in a melodramatic manner. Reaching for the overhead mic, he activated the ships intercom system. Speaking softly, he addressed his crew...*

Aedon: :: "Veritas" crew, this is your captain speaking. We are entering the last three hours of our journey, so I would ask that all hands return to stations. Run diagnostics, and make sure I ah...didn't screw anything up when I course-corrected. Send all reports to my datapad, note red-flags, etc. Once you're through, you may do as you please. Gav, out. ::

*He placed the ship on auto-pilot until the Twins arrived some minutes later, taking over the helm somewhat sleepy-eyed from their intermittent nap. Aedon gave them a pat on the shoulder and returned to his Captain's chair, slumping into it. Na'me arrived a few moments after, taking the turrets off of auto-targeting one by one, and running them through their cycles. Kinsey also made it to her console, testing communications. The Nav Tech arrived, running simultaneous procedures through the navi-computer in safe-mode. The bridge was now abuzz again with life. And life was...good.*

Re: Hyperspace

*Luke got up from his seat in an empty gally when he heard the captains announcement. He went back into the and made a large pot of caf. First cup, Aedon's, black with one sweetener. Kinsey, one cream, one sweetener. Marc got a luke warm cup of the black stuff from earlier. Lastley, two cups of caf milk for the Twins.

Luke set the drinks on a cart and headed for the bridge. He got where and with only a slight smile coming from his face, started giving everyone their wake up. It was hard to believe that not even a day ago, this man, smiling and seemingly happy, had played Sith commando with some Vor's head. Luke took a step back from everyone and the smile disappeared.*

Don't get used to it kriffers*He laughed* yesterday was stressful for you all, I'm sure, so I figured I'd be nice and bring it to you for once. Does anyone need anything else before I head back to the gally to fix something up for those kids?

Re: Hyperspace

Marcus' Quarters

*Marcus was awakened by the announcement over the intercom. He sat up in his bed, still shaking off the grogginess from the little two hour nap he'd taken. Wiggling his toes, he sighed as he stood and walked across the room to his drawer. Reaching into the uppermost drawer he grabbed a pair of black socks and sat on his bed. After getting those on, he pulled on his boots, lacing them until, if they had been laced any tighter, the laces themselves might snap. Rising to his full height, he walked over to a mirror, straightening out his shirt and BDU's. He turned and exited his quarters on the way to the bridge.*

The Bridge of the "Veritas"

*Marcus arrived on the bridge, shortly after everyone else. He paused for a moment as he arrived on deck, then proceeded to head to his console. Na'me was already here he noticed. He gave a slight nod and a pat on the shoulder as he seated himself.*

"So Gav's got us running diagnostics again? I'm still not liking that port side turret's speed. I'm thinking we must have something lodged in the mechanism. At any rate, I'll start doing a control diagnostic, do you wanna get one going on the weapons systems themselves?"

*Na'me was head gunner, but Marcus sometimes liked to pull the seniority bit, he'd been here longer. Besides, the two rarely quarreled and usually they could be found laughing and chattering away about various things, sometimes things that no one else even understood. The two had hit it off fairly well and one would almost consider them brothers.*

*Marcus' fingers flew over the console, activating various programs, deactivating others. He even checked the range of motion on the guns manually. He still wasn't pleased with the reaction time on the port side turret. He shook his head and continued on, checking the system for any problems. He flagged a few systems and conduits with a 'yellow' flag, meaning that various components would have to be tinkered with or replaced soon but they weren't crucial at this time, then he turned back to Na'me.*

"Whenever we hit port, I'm gonna have to do an inspection on that turret visually. That port side turret's being... **He lowered his voice** It's being a nemoidian. I don't want Gav to freak out but let's just hope we don't have any bogeys show up, I'm not liking the reaction time one bit. Even if we do get it firing... we won't be able to hit anything with it, it's much to slow."

*Marcus knew Gav didn't need any more stress, and besides, they'd hit port soon, hopefully they wouldn't need to use that port side turret... He really hoped so.*

Re: Hyperspace

*Aedon wanted to question a few things with Luke's sudden bout of 'generosity'...but, when his nose got a whiff of the caf, he completely forgot about his preconceptions and started sipping the nectar greedily. The warm sensation of pure caffeinated energy brought a grin to his face, and he was suddenly reminded of how glad he was to have the Sith Commando on his crew.*

Aedon: Thanks a lot there, Luke. You're all right in my book...I don't care what Marcus says.

*Na'me continued cycling the cannons through their paces, taking special note to flag dedicated sections in yellow, much like he knew Marcus would do. The fact that the Zabrak finally decided to join him didn't bother the Bothan any...he knew how hard Marcus was to stir after a good nap.*

Marcus Corvus wrote:"So Gav's got us running diagnostics again? I'm still not liking that port side turret's speed. I'm thinking we must have something lodged in the mechanism. At any rate, I'll start doing a control diagnostic, do you wanna get one going on the weapons systems themselves?"

=Na'me He're=
Yeah...I'm not sure what's happening with it, either. Gav's been a stickler lately about making sure this ship's up-to-snuff. And, I'm way ahead of ya on the weapons. Already checked the three forward-dorsal laser cannons, I'm on the aft two, now. I'm gonna need your help once you're done with Diag. The ions are always hard for me to get a good read on. Too many power differentials.

*The aft-dorsal Laser cannons were in tip-top shape according to his readouts. He was about to move on to the ventral cannons when Marcus piped up again.*

Marcus Corvus wrote:*Marcus' fingers flew over the console, activating various programs, deactivating others. He even checked the range of motion on the guns manually. Even if we do get it firing... we won't be able to hit anything with it, it's much too slow."

*Na'me's brow scrunched. He quickly cycled through to the port-side turret, testing the movement on them. He originally thought the stick was a momentary hiccup. The fact that it was continuing in its stubbornness only frustrated the Bothan.*

=Na'me He're=
Hm. I might have to join ya on that little inspection. The joints probably just need a seal replaced or something. Good possibility that there's a control-socket bent in it, too. We get too rough on that old bird-killer. A quad-linked turbolaser doesn't even belong on a ship this size, anyway. Could just feel like it's out of place or something. *He chuckled, the lowered his voice.* But you're right about Gav...we need to get that guy to loosen up. He gets wound any tighter, and he's gonna pop a spring or something.

*At that moment, Kinsey piped up.*

=Kinsey=
Communications are green, Gav. We need a few of the control-clusters replaced, but that's all in my report. Sending that to you, now.

*The Bothan winced at those words. It frustrated him to no end that the Twi'lek was always ahead of him on Diagnostics Checks. He whispered sharply to Marcus.*

=Na'me He're=
How does she keep doing that? It irks me that she's faster all-the-time!

*The Twins and Navigations soon sent in their report. Aedon looked over the multiple red-flags from the two co-pilots, sighing inwardly as he felt the cred-numbers starting to roll over his brain like a tank...at least Nav came back clean. That was a relief. Cycling back through the info from the Twins, he realized most of their issues seemed to be stuff they could fix in-house. The repulsor readouts he was looking at were his issue. Those were hard to replace outright. But...eventually, they'd have to be looked at.**He continued looking over the info as they were about to be done with the final leg of their journey. Then, he remembered what Luke had said before...*

Aedon: Oh...ah...go on ahead, Luke. Sorry, mate. My head's a little full from all of the numbers. *He taps his datapad.* This is gonna be a pain that I'll never get rid of...

*The vessel was nearing the drop-out zone near Fondor. The final minutes were spent drilling Navigations checks, course-derivatives, and troubleshooting in case they didn't drop out correctly. The Twins were exceptional pilots, though, so it wasn't an overly-huge issue. When the crew was as prepared as they could be, the vessel began its countdown...5...4...3...2...1...Zero.*

Re: Hyperspace

*Now that his ship was well on its way through Hyperspace, Aedon looked on at the long way that would be travelled at the Navigation Technician's station and its galactic map...They would have to go back along the Rimma Trade route to the Corellian Trade Spine, and then the longest leg of their hours would be spent travelling from there to the Hydian Way - the last leg of their journey - to Dathomir. All in all, it would be a day or two for his crew...so this would finally give him some time to rest, clear his mind, and possibly food would be in the equation before long. He continued to look on at the map for some moments before he stood up and looked around the cabin.*

Aedon: Bridge crew...we're back to normal rotations. Four-hour shifts, all necessary personnel. Twins, one of you on first-watch. Gunnery crew, you're off-duty unless called. Comms, you as well. Nav, check back every couple of hours or so, make sure we're on-course. Kinsey, before you head out, comm engineering and let them know they're on split-shifts. Get that Dug on first watch. He hasn't done a whole lot, lately. I'm off to my quarters for some shut-eye. Wake me if you need me.

*With that, Aedon left the bridge. Kinsey commed engineering and relayed the captain's orders, taking note of the special level of irritation in Dengo's voice as she did so. The Twins did their usual round of 'Best of Three: Ro-Sham-Bo' to determine First-Watch. Na'me let a smirk go at seeing Marcus' new 'attire' he was constrained to for his 'dereliction-of-duty' before he turned and walked back towards their shared cabins.**All in all, it was back to normal for the crew of the "Veritas".*

Re: Hyperspace

*It had been a while that the ship was on the Rimma Trade Route, and the vessel was nearing its drop-out point around Yag'dhul once again. Aedon was attempting to rest, but felt he was getting no further along with that than when he first entered his quarters. An hour of sleep here, another there; but he was - for all accounts - restless. As he laid down, staring at the ceiling (where he had a poster of the Coruscant city-scape), he thought about his home. It had been years since he'd been there. The crew and he had left on less-than-cordial terms, narrowly-escaping the CorSec officials who were there to haul them in. That was Aedon's first tip-off that his old friend - Kaide - had decided to turn against him. Those were not the best of days. Not in the slightest.*

*Jesse had come in to help Jordan with the transfer before taking over the helm. The ship lurched out of Hyperspace, flowing smoothly and seemlessly through open space. Aedon barely felt the transition, which made him feel odd. The ship was working beautifully. All of it was a testament to the Verpine Jedi's handiwork. And yet, the tranquil state of the ship unnerved the Zeltron captain more than anything else. He was used to the ship having a skip in the sequencer, or the shudder of the reactor due to the ionic polarization switching up momentarily. Even the jolting sensation when the ship dropped out of FTL travel was something that he had gotten used to. The fact that it was working without the proverbial 'hitch'...well, it wasn't normal to Aedon. And he'd had enough abnormal to last him a lifetime at this point. Regardless, the Twins had managed to reposition the ship to enter the Corellian Trade Spine, and so the ship was ready to enter the second - and longest - phase of its journey to Dathomir...*
