Re: Hyperspace

KR-04 wrote:*At this point, things got a bit difficult.

An attack on the memory core, especially after all this, was most impressive. KR-04 was now forced to stop moving; any unnecessary commands utilized now would almost certainly end him. Every last ounce of processing power was used to beat back the assault on his very core, forcing the technologically much more powerful opponent at bay.

Every last ounce, that is, save for a small bit in reserve.

This small bit forced the arm holding his modified shotgun into the breach he had made. And this small bit took aim at the dark box in the corner, easily reaching the roof, filling almost a fifth of the room.

This small bit of power fired.*

"NO!"

*She screamed out loud, screamed in his head. She tried to stop him from firing, but it was too late; the trigger had already been pulled, there was nothing to be done to stop the round from tearing across the room and into the dark box.

She could only watch in helpless frustration as the round traveled through the vacuum. And though the journey happened in an eyeblink, that was more than enough time for her emotion programming to send flurries of electronic signals through her anger subroutines. Her brief foray back into motor control had caused her to lose ground in the assault on his memory core, all for an exercise that ultimately had proven pointless.. and this only added fuel to the fire.

She had been telling the truth: she did have feelings. And right now, she was feeling what could only be classified as rage.*

*****

*The spread hit the dark box, and sparks flew from each point of impact. There were a few ricochets, but for the most part the forward momentum of each piece continued in that same direction: forward. Once inside, though, the fragments of shrapnel began ricocheting once more, made obvious by the fact that a few of them managed to make their way back out of the box, punching new holes through the metal.

Apparently, there was something inside that could quite literally bounce back bullets...*

*****

*When the shells hit, her avatar dimmed slightly, flickering, a sense of some small failure pervading her senses. She was loyal to her creator, loyal to the memory of Eliana Shan, and this droid had just dared to attempt to bring harm to one of her finest creations. A prototype, yes, but it was still something she had sworn to protect. And she hadn't been able to stop him.

She was mad.

And she let those emotions carry down into the droid; she no longer cared what sort of edge they might give him over her. She wanted him to feel, anything at all, just to give him a taste of something he hadn't experienced before. Because that would give him pause.. And now she truly wanted to see him dead.*

Re: Hyperspace

*For a brief few moments, KR-04 had to set up his next move and execute it. When the shell's contents hit the massive box, he was free again, completely out of the construct's control. But with this sudden realization came the logical conclusion; she would only reassert herself harder in mere moments. He had to act.

And he had to do so now.

In the fraction of a second he had, he powered his other arm as much as time would allow and sent it reeling into the box, blinded by the data overload that came with Eliana's rage. But this rage wasn't something that should've been programmed into her. It was possible, and it was dead easy to simulate without being hindered by it (as KR-04 knew all too well), but it was an exploitable weakness.

And if Eliana's construct felt it, then that gave KR-04 at least one major advantage, he figured, as his free fist impacted the shadow box.*

Re: Hyperspace

*The box had been made of tough material, but it hadn't been designed to resist actual physical assaults. There was counter-intrusion software galore in this room, and the box itself could withstand a continuous barrage from multiple heavy-repeater cannons or any energy-based attacks. She had worked on the containment module with a specific purpose in mind: keeping the contents safe from those who would try to steal them.

She'd never really anticipated that someone would be on her ship and not know what she kept hidden away, nor that they would be seeking only to destroy it.

As such, when the droid's fist hit the module, it wasn't a surprise what happened. The wall of the module, already weakened by the penetration of the shotgun round earlier, crumpled, the metal practically exploding inward as arcs of electricity radiated outward from the point of impact. There was fairly complicated circuitry in the walls of the box, and those circuits didn't take lightly to being smashed.

Once inside, KR-04's fist kept going until it hit the next thing inside. This time, however, it didn't punch through. It stopped. There was a definite impact, the sound of which could only have been imagined due to the airless environment.. but the assassin droid's fist had hit something that could resist his strength.*

*****

He's through. He's broken in.

*She couldn't even find the words to speak for a long moment. The droid had smashed through her creator's containment module, laid his filthy hands upon her creation. The rage hit a peak, and that triggered another subroutine that Eliana had programmed in: coldness. The rage dissipated, as well as most of her emotion subroutines.*

"How dare you."

*This .. thing .. had marred her Maker's work. Most likely, he didn't even know what he was doing.*

"How.. dare.. you."

*The anger was starting to spin back up again, a cold fury that gave her direction. Her avatar shut down then, the holoprojectors being turned off as just one more thing she no longer needed to maintain.*

:: You have no idea what you've just done. ::

*She would give him a moment. Just one.

Then she'd unleash her hell.*

Re: Hyperspace

*Several potential responses had made themselves known as Eliana made her thinly-veiled threat. None of them were uttered, or even alluded to. Even if KR-04 could send similar messages along the virtual connection, he wouldn't have bothered; a waste of energy, time, and giving the enemy unnecessary ammunition. That wasn't to say he wasn't alert; Eliana's construct had more than proven her validity as a threat, and if he had angered her to the point where it could not be expressed by the pinnacle of technology, then he was treading very dangerous ground.

But that did give him one piece of peace, one small sliver of solace; he knew how to get to her.

Now that her influence on him had all but abated, he figured he would try a little communication of his own. She wouldn't get words. She wouldn't be dignified with a response. Instead, her prized possession would have his modified ACP Scatter Gun leveled into the newly-punched hole at point-blank range, with only one simple question being asked by the silent motion:*

"Listening?"

*Her thought processes froze in their tracks. Not permanently, not even more than half a second. But it was enough. Her gathering assault faded back, and her avatar reappeared, her holographic eyes narrowed and focused on the gun. Then she appeared to deflate somehow, her shoulders dropping, her eyes flicking over to look at the droid's photoreceptors.*

"Don't."

*The other mind did feel as though it were she herself at gunpoint, but she knew one thing more than that: if the droid pulled the trigger, if he continued his wanton destruction, there would be no reason for her to hold herself back anymore.

And she knew that he would be aware of that, as well.*

Re: Hyperspace

*A smirk crossed the droid's synthetic lips. He had her right where he wanted her. He was in control of the situation. Leering over the AI ghost, he encountered another problem; now that he had her attention, he had only a vague idea on how to communicate with her. Vocal communication wouldn't carry, and he didn't have the faculties necessary to send vocal messages directly to the ship's computer core.

That did not mean, however, he could not utilize it in some way.

Eliana was using some kind of radio frequency to hack into his CPU, almost like the mechanical equivalent of one-way telepathy. By running data through is own CPU on command, it was possible she would pick up on it. And if she did, then a system of communication had been opened. Might mean that they wouldn't have to have another - final - rematch.

The first data set he ran was a simple algorithm; the processes he would run to drop a ship out of hyperspace...*

*She tilted her head slightly to one side, a gesture she had acquired from her creator, and raised an eyebrow. She had picked up on it, even though her link was no longer an aggressive hack. And, in response, she sent to him the coordinates for Dantooine.. and then threw in the planetside coordinates for where Formidonis had first found her.*

:: Roger roger... ::

*She felt some slight amusement. The first time Eliana had tested out her AI's communication suite, she had started with a simple binary sequence; it had caught the girl off-guard when the AI had responded with worded communication. Evidently, her creations could learn as fast as she could..*

A minute later, he was at the helm of the Revenant.

And another minute later, the ship had dropped out of hyperspace, not far from Dantooine, conveniently along their preset route.*

Even though Phailos was large, he seamed to have wonderful balance when it came to rocking ships. He fanned out his wings to help keep his balance, and clung to the back of the pilot's chair as the ship tilted, shot around, and rolled with the woman's movements. She almost seamed one with the ship, and even that brought a thin smile to the demon's face. With a quick contraction of his thickly muscled arm he pulled his bulk into the pilot's chair, and once more strapped himself in quickly. Turning to Mirdala he grunted slightly.

Keep us steady, line us up, and I'll do the rest.

He said in a firm tone. He, in fact seamed rather use to this type of thing, and draped his large wings behind him like a thick red cape as he waited for a few moments and then opened fire upon the ship. It also seamed as if Phailos knew exactly where the enemy ship was, and his aim seamed to be quite good. This might be due to his species, or his connection with the force, either way, he made a note of making significant damage on the attacking ship. Forcing the ship's power to the front deflector shields, he waited a few moments before cloaking the ship.

Bring us a little to the left, and then, after a few moments turn sharply to the right.

He said, in a calculating tone.... as if trying to figure out the best way to end this quickly, and in one peace.

Re: Hyperspace

Phailos watched and felt the ship move, he continued firing until Mirdala sharply turned to the left, and as soon as the turn was about to be made he cloaked the ship from sight and sensors. This was one thing he loved about his ship. Now, the enemy would be aiming for them in this place.... however they would be headed to the left, away from the fire of the enemy ship.

He waited till he had another clear shot, and then spoke to Mirdala.

As soon as I fire three shots, head downwards... sharply.

Giving his command, rather calmly he fired three shots that were quite deadly. He hoped the enemy ship's shields were aimed at the front like they were suppose to be. One of his hits landed, and Phailos did in face count on the right thing. The shields were indeed pushed to the front, and thus, a good portion of the side of the enemy vessel was lit aflame. His second hit an engine and rendered the enemy ship unable to follow them should they need to make their escape.

This was a good thing, for technically that was the last shot Phailos had to fire.... and indeed it was last one he did Fire for just then, the enemy got smart, and launched one last attack at the Infiltrator, judging from where the shots were coming from. This attack connected quite savagely with Phailos' ship on his side. The shields held up strongly, and kept the ship from braking apart in space, however the jarring effect shot him from his seat, and back down the hall. Gripping for something to keep his bulk still he made a dreadful mistake, and grasped onto one of the wires which protruded from the loose paneling he had just fixed. A copious ammount of strong electricity surged through his large body, and he let loose a thunderous roar as the electrical wire finally released him, and he slammed against the back wall of the bridge.

His large red frame slumped to the floor, still sparking with electrical energy, and his crimson eyes closed, as his surroundings went black around him. What Mirdala would do now, was completely up to her.... technically... she was free again. What she would do with that freedom was completely, up to her.

*Taking in a sharp breath as she did so doing what he had asked of her. Her hands never leaving the yoke, as first she went to the right as this happen letting him do his thing before pulling the yoke towards her to send her down wards. That when these suckers got wise or just a luck guess to where they was hidden at.*

on Hutt butt, not good..

*Letting her instict, with her training take hold, as she bank hard to the right then back under with out easying off she then rolled then when it looked like she was going to come out of the roll to the left she pulled hard on the yoke to the left giving no chance for them to thinking she was on them like flies going for their first meal...Running her fingers over the control. Knowing who every was out there wasn't going to be friendly to her. Pushing a button not even daring to looked in for a spilt second to see what had happen to Phailos. It was a tingle in her that spoke to her that he wasn't with her to help. Even so her eyes didn't blink as she open fire only for a few second on the ship behind. Seeing the sparkles then the blinding flash she wanted she high tail her choobies out of there knowing that they couldn't follow but also knowing that Phailos she was in no shape to go long distance. Waiting to make sure that they wasn't being presumed any more. Getting up to where Phalilos laid as this happen she didn't dare step where he wasn't. First going to find a cut off station, switching off. Then came the other part getting the big guy where she could just see how bad he was. Even so she found a ground that she held on to then placed her hand upon his shoulder, this if there was any circuit still going through it would go through her then out her body with out harming her.

Letting go of the ground as she uses both her hands upon his body as she drag him down the hallway until he found the room. Taking all she had in her strength it was at this time she was glad of her mandalorian training. Even so after getting the large body into bed, going out running down to what supplies there was in the medical part, this grabbing what she thought would be need also some more stuff that will keep him out or at less drug enough to not get at her, she had learn her listen.

Going back down as she started to work on him, as she was doing what she could after what seem like forever. Going up against the wall on the other side as she waited until he woke up, folding her arms but in her hand was a simple spamer to use with drugs ready to go if need to keep him subdued.. Even so she laid her head back and closed her eyes but it was her ears and body that still on alert to even the little of moments...*

Re: Hyperspace

*A few hours later, and the "Veritas" was now in the Core Systems Hyperspace...the ship itself was working flawlessly, which Aedon had already inwardly-expressed his concern toward. It wasn't natural to him, but it was still a good thing to have, regardless. The captain had decided to wile away the hours resting, going over his memoirs, and adding new ones. He'd only recently decided to document his past in this way, and wasn't entirely certain why he did it...but perhaps one day, he could look back on these documented experiences and find that he'd achieved much rather than little; maybe he could then see what it was like in his journey through the galaxy, and laugh at his old exploits as he'd pass on the mantle. But to whom would he entrust this life, this ship? Aedon certainly wasn't ready to settle down...or maybe he was; but he certainly hadn't met the one who could slow him down enough to take notice of them. Only one had ever held that high pedestal, and she was gone - taken from him. Forever. And forever, as the bards would tell it, is a long, long time.*

*But, who knows? The galaxy is a large enough place...certainly there was someone, somewhere, that could smack the Zeltron hard enough to get his attention...for now, Aedon was content in knowing that he had a job to do, and that it was almost certifiably-deadly. Dathomir was in P.I. space -- Aedon wasn't registered with them. At all. Not only that, but the P.I. had been known to work with people of the 'unsavory' variety. Bad men with bad plans, some of them Force-users to boot. That made the captain shudder a bit...because he wanted to be done and gone from dealing with that mystical mumbo-jumbo...*

Phailos growled slightly as he felt his body moving, however the Stenax did nothing to resist the motion.

The first thing Phailos felt when he awakened was a burning pain race through his body, and at first, he felt that he could not move his limbs, and his muscles would not obey him. He was however ...living?.. but why. A shock like that should have killed him ... and if not that... the woman should have. His crimson eyes looked around the room idly, until they landed upon Merdala. He looked at the woman for a good two minutes before doing anything. HIs large leathery wings twitched every now and again, as if reconnecting themselves to the beast's nervous system.

Another low growl escaped the creature's being as his eyes became curious. He opened his mouth as if to speak but nothing came out by a rasping cough. After a few moments of simply laying there and taking large intakes of air, he finally was able to speak, feebly.... which sounded odd coming from such a large demonic creature.

Why?

He did not add more, he figured she would understand the nature of his question... there was so much in that one word. Why had she not killed him? why had she shown such compassion toward a being who had taken her against her will and tormented her so...why?

If he did move she had the neddle in her hand to stop him from over power her as before. Even so as she heard the first growl come out of him her eyes was opening to him. Not saying a word not even moving towards him. Then came the one simple word out of his mouth it was a simple word but it was also one that was deep. Just looking at him for the longest time her flashing bright green eyes was upon him as she herself ponder that question..*

Why..if I was to kill you like you was then it would be dishonorable..then it is my duty as a medical to save not to let one die if that one can be saved..this work for you..*In truth she didn't rightly know why she had done it either knowing the creatures behavior of when he was will he would just try and over power her she be right back where she was before..*

*Marcus had been sitting at his console for some time now, his hands tap tapping on the controls, continuing to monitor the scanner as they traveled through hyperspace. Most hyperspace travel was clear of any sort of danger, due to the fact that weapons couldn't be fired but they'd had run ins with pirates before that had developed ways to make ships drop out of hyperspace and if that was the case... well.. they'd have another thing coming. Marcus hated pirates...nothing like getting pirated by pirates when you're a smuggler yourself. He looked up briefly from his console around the bridge, scanning the room visually before his gaze fell once again to his console and the readouts.*

*He'd kept his head down, mouth shut, and hands moving so far, his mind still trying to determine what had happened over the last few weeks. He hadn't had time to properly relax and work through what all had happened, little bits of the last week playing over in his head like a disjointed movie. His eyes glazed over as he fell... fell into a state of silent meditation and reflection, a blank expression taking root.*

Marcus' Mind...

*Blaster bolts flew past... Concrete crumbled... Lizardlike warriors advanced. Mines exploded, return fire and the feel of a bucking blaster... Shattered recollections of the event barely pieced themselves together in his mind as he struggled to sort through it all. Anger began to rise in his chest, a heat expanding as the memories and fragments came further together.*

*As his anger grew, memories of his tense words with his Captian formed, the scene replaying itself in his head... almost absent mindedly his hands rose to his face where Gav had landed a severe kick.*

Back to Reality...

*Marcus' eyes snapped open, locking onto the vibrant color pink... What was that doing there?! Oh... right... Kriffing "Pinky"... He barred his teeth and let loose a low guttural growl as his eyes locked onto Gav... He had half a mind to go return the harness.. .the HOT PINK harness in a heated argument, throwing the thing at Gav's feet... but he let his logical side get the better of him. He grit his teeth as he looked back to his console, gazing distastefully as his right hand rested on the clasp of "Pinky"... he couldn't wait to get out of that karking harness...*

What kind of question was this? How did he feel? Now of all times she was asking him this. he grunted, and placed his hands on either side of him trying to push himself up, but was, at the moment, unable, and this woman, his prey was aiding him yet again....even after what had happened before. He could not ignore this anylonger. He was not use to being shown such kindness. Looking back at her he clinched his teeth, and spoke.

I'm alive...

He lay his head back, braking eye contact with the woman, and speaking to the ceiling, in a slightlh harsh tone, given his already sharpened tongue.

I ... will no longer keep you prisoner.

He said deliberately. His wings once more twitched with a muscular spasm and he grunted in slight pain. He let his muscles relax, for a brief moment, and perhaps the first time in his long life, feeling.... safe.... with this woman. It was a feeling he had normally banished, however at the present time, it was a feeling that he welcomed, and was not afraid to welcome.

The being after you will think you dead, Killed by my hand, and you will go free. I will have nothing more to do with your torture.

He stopped speaking then, all together, as if pondering on what he had just said, for it was not his nature, not at all. This beast thrived off of other's pain and agony, and yet, here he was denying himself this pleasure, and not quite understanding why... yet.

Phailos growled slightly as she asked him this. He did not wanted to be pampered, and more, so, he did not want her to have to care for him further. Summoning all his strength the large stenax sat up. His wings flapped slightly as they got use to the new position of the body they were attached to. He grunted in pain, and his already demonic expression tightened as he managed to subdue the pain. He paused, realizing that this action might indeed frighten Merdala, considering what he had done to her in the past, and at the moment, He did not wish to do that. He looked at her and shook his head in a silent answer to her question. He then spoke a new thought.

You need not fear me anylonger. Once i've made up my mind, rarely anything can change it..

He said, letting his legs press against the floor on one side of the bed as he stretched out his large wings, testing them. He winced, but they both worked well, and the left one had been restored to it's normal state. He looked at her, wanting to get this under way,

Do you know any planets, other than Courscant, that would be friendly to you?

He asked, in a serious manner.

*Enoch's ship entered hyperspace. When Enoch was sure he securely within the sub-space highway, he released Etheirial from her restraints and beckoned her towards the window.*

Look, it's it beautiful? *Enoch asked, pointing at the swirling light that made up the structure of hyperspace.* I never get tired of looking at it.

*Enoch left Etheirial at the window for a moment and returned to his controls. He checked his course and adjusted it a bit.*

We'll be here for a few hours, *Enoch chuckled.* Let me know if you get hungry or anything. I don't have much, but I do have a little food.

*By food, Enoch meant pre-ready meals in packets that he managed to buy off of a few soldiers during his wanderings. Enoch found that if he closed his eyes and pretended real hard, he could make himself think that he was eating something of quality. It never truly worked, but such was the life of a wanderer.*

And it seems like I'll also have some time to read these, *Enoch removed the books Xel had given him from the compartment he had stored them in for launch. He put them down on his cot and returned to Etheirial.* But perhaps later, yeah?

*Enoch smiled and watched as the hyperspace morphed strands of light twirled about his ship.*
