Fenix

I can tell you who is right, the winner is right because there is no one else. Seriously though it doesn't matter who is right or who is wrong, because the people will decide that.

*Nods at Professor Sile and then turns to Fenix.*

"When the Force is involved sometimes the people don't get a choice. From what I've read about your...err, our galaxy, from its earliest days it has been transitioned from a point of control between those that believe in the Lightside and those that believe in the Darkside. Neither might be right, or necessarily wrong, but I think the underlying truth of this state of constant turmoil is that both sides will always be in contest with one another."

*His hand came under his face, stroking his chin thoughtfully.*

"I can't help but think the galaxy would be a more peaceful place without either side vying for control or attempting to suppress the other."

Re: Introduction to the Force for Non Force Sensitive

*The Shard chuckled. Coming from a Vong, that was an interesting statement.*

“You may be right about that. If you ask me, the only thing that’s going to get those folks working together is a common threat, something big enough to warrant putting aside differences for the sole purpose of survival.”

*The holo briefly flashes a picture of the being known as Abeloth before transitioning to a Vong warrior flinging a razor bug at an intermingled group of red, blue, and green lightsaber wielders.*

“Mind you, every time it’s happened in the past, the truce broke down as soon as the problem was solved. Sometimes even before then. There’s too much hatred on both sides for it to truly work. Part of Eralam’s reasoning for reviving this university was to facilitate cooperation and hopefully break some of that resentment. You’ll notice that he’s been stonewalled pretty hard from both sides. We’ve got a Jedi Master coming in from Corellia to teach a class or two, and a Vong was spotted filling out paperwork in the admin office. Other than that, his recruitment has largely been unsuccessful.”

*The holo shows an orbital view of Thyferra, followed by a bacta tank. Professor Sile wonders for a moment if anyone has figured out his trick for the timing and selection of images before moving on.*

“However, if the Thyferra campaign comes to fruition, that might change. He’s debating using bacta as incentive for factions to send teachers.”

*Before Sile even showed the holo of a warrior caste member, the disguised Intendant was already thinking about his people.* *The Yuuzhan Vong Empire had expected the fractured galaxy to simply fall apart when they turned their massive war host towards it. Instead the people of the known galaxy united, eventually overthrowing the Vong and banishing them to the Unknown Regions upon the back of a living planet. A lesson hard learned, and one he intended to never forget.*

*The second part of the Professor's statement nearly caused Nem to chuckle. Only with quick consideration was he able to hold it in, remembering with some displeasure the many forms he had been forced to sign.* *An hours worth of stylus manipulation merely for insurance forms. To think, what folly he had consigned himself to in order to merely place coin in pocket. All those term papers he would have to mark, and the tests? Harla's tits! He'd be damned if he was going to make his students answer in essay format. Multiple choice, all of it. That way the infidel scantron machine would do all the work for him.* *There was a second part to the Professor's address that further drew him in.*

*A Jeedai Master he said? Now that was something to note. Likely he'd have access to them during the next staff meeting, but he couldn't help but feel elated at this current point in time. During the war he had met his fair share of Jeedai, but never a master. This was an opportunity not to be missed.*

*Despite the small attendance of the class, he raised his hand before answering.* *Probably unnecessary, but it was the custom after all.*

"Our dean seems to be quite the entrepreneur. What else does he own? I'd certainly be interested in meeting him if his schedule would permit."

*Nem turned in his seat, fixing Fenix with a serious look.*

"You want to know what I think?" *He paused thoughtfully.* "I think we should be careful. While the Force itself may prove dangerous in its own right, I do believe it is the religions that we need to be concerned about. This holy war between the Jeedai..." *Unintentional slip.* "...and Sith could lead us all the ruin. It's bad enough we have to worry about random attacks by morally absent Mandalorians and their mercenary ilk, but add the power to cause stars to go supernova into that, and you've got a recipe for disaster just waiting to be cooked."

*Given the fallacy of his own people's religious beliefs, it was slightly hypocritical for him to claim that the Jeedai and Sith were the root problem of the cause. But, that said, he honestly believed every word he was speaking.*

"What this galaxy is sorely missing...is order."

*Fenix raised his eye brow at the word jeedai he knew one species that used that word but it could just be his accent. It mattered not to him as he nodded his head what Nem said was true.*

Yes It needs order but who can do that with all these super powers running around? It puts us at a big disadvantage...

Re: Introduction to the Force for Non Force Sensitive

*That was true. For some time now the galaxy had been ruled by large factions with access to overwhelming firepower. The NOE, LAN, IF, Dark Tide, GCCS, ME, and the various Jedi Orders that serve in the capacity of certain world governments. Against those odds, what could one man do? But then, what if it wasn't one man? What if the galaxy's residents were dissatisfied with these uber-powerful regimes? United, they might very well pose a real threat to these organizations.*

"You said it yourself: the people decide who's in charge. Just as the professor said, the people only unite when faced with a common threat. All it would take is a single spark to bring the disenfranchised and forgotten to a singular cause. For order to be accomplished these ineffective systems and entities, these super powers, need to be dismantled. Dissolve these broken pieces into chaos so that the galaxy may be renewed, nay, reforged into a more perfect reality. Revolution is what's needed. An alliance of those who would rebel against these inadequate and undeserving authorities."

Re: Introduction to the Force for Non Force Sensitive

*Fenix had seen people of the universe and they were scared of their own shadow, the thought of trying to take down ones government was daunting enough let alone a galaxy spawning group of force users who laugh at danger. The average joes only redeeming quality when in large numbers they seemed to have a mob mentality and all that needed was a spark to ignite.*

The only problem is that normal people within the larger groups feel secure even if they are not because at least they have stability in their lives. Why would they want to change that by revolting? What is needed is another thing like the Vong just as both you and the prof are saying. Or maybe something to level the playing field for thus of us who cant use the force.

Re: Introduction to the Force for Non Force Sensitive

"Mutual cooperation between a diverse many could potentially level the playing field." *He responded.* "Take this class for instance. Professor Sile said he was going to teach us some techniques to keep the Force users from controlling our minds. That alone would give you, your companions, and I an advantage over Jedi or Sith. Plus, it's not all Force users who are at fault. You can hardly blame someone for being born with certain genetic capabilities. It's the fanatical religions and cult controlled Empires that are at fault. If you could turn some of those unfortunate brainwashed Force sensitives, or even get them before they've been converted to one creed or code, they could potentially be of use towards a common goal of galactic peace and prosperity."

*It was then that Nem rose up out of his seat and stood tall. His hands came up to the nape of his neck, where he dug in his fingers beneath what had previously appeared as his flesh. The skin split, peeling to either side as though his face was being teared off by his own hands. All across his skin, his real skin, cilia released their clasp on his pores and the masquer pried loose in a loud wet squelch. There stood the Intendant, holding a hood of molted flesh in his left hand, while fixing the skeletal and scarred visage of a Yuuzhan Vong on Fenix and his companions.*

"Besides, take it from me, the Yuuzhan Vong won't be troubling the galaxy any time soon. We're a broken people. But..." *He rasped, raising his right hand and extending an index finger towards the ceiling.* "...we'd be happy to level the playing field where we can."

Re: Introduction to the Force for Non Force Sensitive

*Fenix stood up as the others looked over at the disturbance they followed suit, their hatred for the Vong in general was great considering they were responsible for the death of the late Cade Fel leader of the Fel empire. It took all of Fenixs self control not to attack on site but part of the rules of the University was to not attack anyone no matter the problems in the universe; this place was neutral ground. Still Damian began to walk towards Nem as he pointed to the sky. Fenix put his arm out to stop him.*

Fenix

No, it took some big cahunas to do that plus you will get us kicked out. Sit down NOW!

Santiago

But...

*Santiago went back to his seat after a little more coaxing from the other two that included a hand on each shoulder. He still glared at Nem from a distance but for the time being nothing would happen. it took Fenix a second to re-gain his composer though he sat back down and mentally told himself to think of him as the slaver he was moments before.*

Fenix

Sorry about that outburst there is some troubled history between us and your kind but we can still be civil... Cant we Damion?! *Fenix sent a glare towards his close friend.* Any ways yes, you are right this training will hopefully help us combat the Forcies. That is what my brother Xeonon does, he gets them and after some basic training lets them decide how they wish to pursue their force abilities so long as they help people.

Re: Introduction to the Force for Non Force Sensitive

*Upon revealing himself for what he was to the class, the Intendant prepared himself for a potentially violent response. He remained in the same standing position, but his mind and instincts processed the situation tactically, noting the distance of his hand to the combat biots he had concealed beneath his attire. His hard musculature was wound tightly, each cell energized and ready for action as hormones flooded his bloodstream. He looked at the others, then back at Fenix, expressing the same ghoulish grin that was near permanently etched on his features.*

*The response did not surprise him. Throughout the war many offenses had been committed, to such an extent that even years later there were deep seeded hatreds ready to breach the surface of emotional control. Hate was a powerful emotion, even for those without the Force. It was pure and purposeful, leading to honorable desires such as vengeance. Hate he could respect.*

*But as he watched and listened to Fenix, a part of his mind was pricked by curiosity. His eye sacs inflated and his now revealed mqaaq'it grew a curious blue shade. His tone, now free to rasp and hiss, possessed a thoughtful quality.*

"Your brother sounds like a wise man." *He said.* "My name is Nem of Domain Yin, and you are right to stay your hand. I happen to be a part of this university's faculty; Vongology 101. Kill the Prof and you shan't expect to earn an A."

*He leaned back, placing his hands on the table behind him and slouching slightly in a casual manner.*

"I wonder, for curiosity is my way, what offense has been committed to see your companions so driven to rage? Certainly much has been done to earn ire from the civilized races of this galaxy, but I think in regards to your men there is something more. A furious passion formed from wicked deed, perhaps. Someone they loved, lost at the hands of my people? Tell me, what vexes you so?"

Re: Introduction to the Force for Non Force Sensitive

I would not be telling the truth if I said it was a pleasure, but it is definitively a surprise. Yeah that would have sucked if I attacked my teacher. That slip up makes sense now though.

*Fenix was torn here he was talking to one of the most hated peoples in the universe yet the way he acted made him question all he knew about the people. The other three were of differing stances, Dominique having fought in the battle was the most furious while the other two just had the soldering hatred.*

Well about eight years ago the Fel Empire began to crumble, civil war erupted and someone from the Vong peoples saw it as an opportunity to deal some damage. They managed to come and kill our Emperor of the time, Cade and well from there on its been an up hill battle.

*He was brutally honest with Yin there was bad blood between the two groups and although there was always the option of a second chance nephews don't take kindly to people who killed their uncle.*

Re: Introduction to the Force for Non Force Sensitive

*So the Yuuzhan Vong were responsible for the death of the Fel Empire's sovereign, very interesting. Nem had spent the last several decades since the war plotting a coup to overthrow the ruling class on Tur Yenagh, so he wasn't entirely privy to all actions of his people throughout the galaxy during that time. But he had heard something come down the chain in regards to that, though he hadn't paid it much heed at the time. Now it seemed that failure to stay informed saw him at a disadvantage. Fortunately his skill with word play and insinuation was considerable.*

"Is that so? Well consider this. If your Empire was attacked by a group of pirates whose crew consisted solely of humans, would you hold humanity at fault for that offense? Or what if you found yourself besieged by a marauder band of Quarren, or Barabels, or Wookiees. Would you hold any one of those races responsible for the actions of a small fragment of their kind?"

*He thought it was a fair question. After the war during the exodus of his people into the Unknown Regions, they had been preyed upon by a group of Bothans that had declared Ar'krai against the Yuuzhan Vong, essentially swearing a genocide against Nem's people. They had been defeated of course, but not without much bloodshed and suffering. Yet the Praetorite, the military organization that Nem claimed dominion over, did not hold all bothans responsible. Granted, the Yuuzhan Vong code of honour rarely called for revenge. Defeating a worthy foe was an honour in its own right.*

*The Intendant crossed his arms over his chest, and lifted his left hand beneath his face, gently stroking his chin as though in deep reflection.*

"I do not seek to cast aside blame. Merely I wish you to consider that your hate may be misplaced or overstretched. In a sense I am a spokesman for my people. I would not wish to incur the wrath of your Empire, but rather, see to settling grievances owed. Fury is a terrible thing to waste due to misdirection."

Re: Introduction to the Force for Non Force Sensitive

*What was said was the truth there should be no real reason for them to blame him for the actions of a few but it still hurt. Not the death of Cade no that was a by product of war everyone died what sucked was the decline that followed after his death.*

You speak the truth and I will never forget what your kind did to mine, I can never forgive you. But I can thank you for not sluffing off the blame. It takes a big man... erm person to accept the blame for something that he did not due personally. You are a great spokes person I may add, but you needn't worry the Empire as a whole does not see it the way we do. Just a handful of us old dogs haha.

Re: Introduction to the Force for Non Force Sensitive

"That is well." *He rasped.* "For the Yuuzhan Vong of now are but a small fish in an otherwise large pond. All we seek is to live out the remainder of our lives in peace, left to our own devices in the Unknown Regions."

*Fel Empire....Fel Empire....he definitely remembered something about the name. There was a recovery mission that had taken place ages ago. Xarl of Domain Lah had been sent to the Deep Core to recover an artifact. Yes, now he remembered. One of the major concerns was the need to avoid the Fel Empire. They made their home in that region of space he believed.*

"From what limited information I can recall about the Fel Empire, I expect there shouldn't be any future hostilities between our two peoples. The Deep Core is far from our personal interests. Yet even so, I would seek to make amends if such a thing is possible. Perhaps you can place me in contact with a representative from your Empire?"

Peace... that would be nice I have known battle for far to long and I am weary of it. I would like that very much and I think I can arrange for someone in power to come here seeing as its your request. Or if not then I can get you a way to contact someone.

*He had no doubt that there would be no hatred stemming from his brother Xeonon. He had joined the Empire after its fall and then re-rise to "power" and after rising through the ranks the knight has lots of say in the Empire.*

Re: Introduction to the Force for Non Force Sensitive

*Fortune smiled on Nem it seemed. His own broken history, or at least that which he had inherited upon joining Domain Yin, made him quite the bitter soul. Forgiveness and peace were not his way, nor was settling grievances with the infidel races. But he was the current leader of the Praetorite and visionary of the entire Yuuzhan Vong race. That made him responsible for more than just himself. He had to think about what was in the best interests of his people, which in this case meant leaving no burning bridges. If there was even a slim chance that the Fel Empire would one day seek retribution, he needed to deal with it before it became an issue. In this case, peace was the best option, despite the better wishes of his spiteful nature.*

"Here would suffice. As you yourself commented, the university is neutral ground. Other than a boardroom in the markets of Dressel, there is nary a safer place to convene. Exterior forces that would seek to reignite the flame of violence between our two peoples would find their efforts wasted."

*He paused just long enough to bring the slender fingers of his hands together.*

"However, if your diplomat would feel more comfortable conducting a discussion on one of your worlds instead, I can see to sending an ambassador to wherever you wish. Unfortunately I am unable to extend such an invitation to your Empire. The Unknown Regions are currently in a state of unrest. It would not be safe to travel to Zonama Sekot at this time."

*While the other three went back to their studies Santiago moved seats so he could both keep an eye on the movements of Nem but so he could still learn. He realized that if he wanted to attack he would have but still he couldn't trust him

Fenix in the mean time nodded and thought about the proposal, but in the end opted for the easy way.*

After the lesson I can send a message to someone and they will make their way here, no need to go out of the way. You probably have experience fighting forcies, do you have any tips on defending ones self from the force?

Re: Introduction to the Force for Non Force Sensitive

"Excellent." *He said, nodding his head.* "I will eagerly await their arrival."

*Following that he began to record an entry on his qahsa personal device, making note that he was to expect the arrival of a diplomat from the Fel Empire at a later date.* *It was an easily remembered detail and doubtful that he would forget it, but with his hands in so many honeypots he needed to record just about everything he did. To think, a few months ago and his schedule had been relatively open. Now he was lucky if he could schedule in lunch.* *Once finished he looked up from the device. His brow furrowed thoughtfully, though his words he offered were less than encouraging.*

"Unfortunately no I do not. During the war I have witnessed many Jeedai in the heat of battle, though they were always contending themselves with the warrior caste. My job was merely to watch and report, not directly engage. Since my return from exile in the Unknown Regions, I have only had the opportunity to fight one Jeedai. She was tough for an infidel, even tried to flip her starfighter on top of me using her Jeedai powers. Even in the crab armour I was wearing at the time, I would have been squashed like a bug if it had come down on me. The one saving grace that I can recall before capturing her was that her powers didn't seen to work on me. I have been told that the Yuuzhan Vong exist outside the Force, that we were cut off from it many thousands of years ago when we first tried to augment our bodies." *He scowled.* "Or so that is what they say. More likely it is the Yun'o's protection that makes us immune from direct attacks. So no, I have little to offer in that regard. Any defense advantage I have is purely biological and noncommunicable."
