*Hours passed, and finally he spun to a stop, breathing heavily, covered in sweat. As he spun counter clockwise, he came to a stop by folding his legs beneath him, and falling into Lotus once more, looking as if he had never moved. He slowed his breath, evened his heart rate and calmed his body and mind, and fell deep into meditation*
*Flashes of light....Inky darkness like a suffocating blanket. What felt like the blackest of lighting cutting through the purple sky. Alone walked a man. A tall man. He walked with the grace of a predator, the balance of a dancer, and the intent of a Land Slide. His robes, covering him from head to toe, flickered between black and white, the two distinct lack of colours intertwining, and causing rivers to seem to flow between them, one fighting the other, mirroring the battle in the sky. Every time his foot touched the ground, a thunder clap could be heard echoing through the desolate landscape, a flash of lighting cutting the air, setting the hairs on the back of his neck to standing.
At his hips hung twin ornate sabers, well made. A gift from a long time ago. The reassurance of the weapons allowed the man to walk with confidence. His mask flickered with the colour of his robes, his eyes darting between black, silver and blue. He suddenly stopped walking in what he somehow knew to be the center of the vast empty plain. He turned slowly, and as he came around in a full circle, his saber was in his hand, the blade erupting as a darker blackness, to suddenly change to a vibrant purple in his right hand, to crash into a darker blade inches from entering his left shoulder.
He stared at the dark being holding a nearly identical saber sparking against his own, a wry grin finding its way to his face beneath his mask. He rotated his wrist, rolling his blade over top of the offending weapon and stepped back quickly so his right side was facing his shadowy opponent.*
<< Father. Some how I knew I would find you here >>
*His voice echoed hollowly beneath his mask, yet sounded muffled and dead due to the nature of the realm they were in*
"Son. I am not finished with you yet. Do you honestly think you can just...walk away? After all I have done for you?"
*The voice was dry, like brittle bones being crushed with gravel. He arched an eyebrow at the specter of his Father and laughed*
<< That is exactly what I think. I have had enough of your meddling. It is time for you to go >>
*Without a hint of anger or malice, he danced forward, his right hand snapping out and across, his own right to left, his fathers dark blade snapping up to intercept. They crashed with a shower of sparks, the sky over head erupting in lighting and thunder, shaking the very ground. As the blade touched, he pulled his right arm in, andgling his wrist, and spun quickly counter clockwise, his blade scraping along his fathers. His left hand opened and his second blade slapped into his palm, erupting in purple as well as he spun. Rotating right wrist once more, he pulled his right arm up and forward, the tip of his blade looking to lift his fathers out of his way, then dropped his left shoulder, going into a semi crouch, his second blade sweeping across at waist level.
His father was no slouch with a blade. As his sons blade slip along and suddenly arced up, he pulled his right arm back, rotating his own wrist clockwise, also rotating his elbow, his blade coming down and slamming into his sons second blade. Which was perfect for his son....
As his blade crashed into his fathers dark saber, his right arm came around with the momentum of the spin. He pushed down and forward with his left hand blade as he drug it along to keep his momentum going. His right blade came across in a blur, slicing across and down through his fathers neck and into his chest. He pulled his blade back, and flipped backwards, both blades suddenly shutting off. His father stood there dumbfounded for a second ,and then with a gurggling hiss, collapsed.*
*In the meditation room, his body shuddered once, then was still once again, a shadow coalescing behind him. Small at first, but gaining in solidity.....*
*The sky split open, most of the darkness receeding, a plain silver light shining through the remaining darkness. He looked around, knowing this was not over. There was one other....One who had joined himself to him a long time ago....In a battle for the very lives of his compatriots....They were all darksiders to be sure, but they were his family of the time.....He spun in a slow circle once more, eyes narrowing...*
<< I know you are out there. You might as well come out.... >>
*A slow, low and oily laugh filled the landscape, followed by a large shadow that seemed to cover the entirety of this world. The temperature dropped, and his breath misted around his mask. He shook his head slowly as he looked up at the dark apparition filling the horizon, its blazing black eyes only noticable as a liquid pool of absolute darkness*
<< You have been the source of my power for years. I now deny you. You control me no longer. Once I thought the only way to kill you, was to keep you a part of me. And I will admit, I came to rely on, and love, the power you gave me.. You once tried to kill my 'family'. I now realize that they were no real family. All save one, who followed me to his near death on more than one occasion....Again I deny you. It is time for you to leave >>
*As the last word left his mouth, a sudden surge of light pulsed from his body, filling the entirety of the plain in a blinding, radiant light. Every inch of darkness was blown apart. It smashed into the giant apparition with the force of...well...the force if it were an unstoppable glacier. The patience of eons, the power of the universe. The entity resisted. Resisted hard, pushing back with all of its considerable might, but in the end, it could not prevail. He had been too long walking in the light this past year, fighting his demons wherever he went....This one stood no chance. With a hollow scream, and an explosion that slammed him into the ground of his own mind, the dark being was expelled from his soul in a million billion pieces..........The plain around him was suddenly light as if by a trillion stars, bathing everything in their warm light......He picked himself up off the ground, and raised his head to the sky, allowing the light to cover him head to toe. His robes and mask were now a brilliant white, reflecting the light back a million times....*
*In the meditation room, a foul stench filled the room for a moment, joining the shadow building behind him. With a sudden ear piercing shriek that could be heard throughout the temple, the darkness shattered, flying off to the farthest corners of the universe......His body slumped where he sat for a few minutes, no sign of movement. Suddenly his shoulder began to shake, and the room was filled with laughter. Happy, relived and exhausted laughter. The fight in his mind felt like it took only moments, but in reality, he had sat there for hours. His legs ached, his body was sore, and he had very little energy, yet he felt.....whole once more. As his eyes opened, they were the bright shining silver of his people. He took a giant breath of air, exhaled slowly, and picked himself up off the floor. There were things he needed to do. He headed off in search of a refresher, and some new clothes......He needed to go find a crystal or two as well......*
