Kessendra Stadium

Re: Kessendra Stadium

From what I gather, anything goes...

*Doma thought to himself before nodding to the Champion. The crowd's roar raises a half-octave, and Doma acts on that crescendo. He swung the sword around his head and charged forward, while with his left hand drawing one of his two SE-14C blaster pistols. As he attempted a distraction with his wildly swinging sword, he fired off at the Champion's mid section three shots.*

*This was his ultimate strategy, distract and attack.*

Re: Kessendra Stadium

*Qymaen smiled behind his mask as the man charged, he dove to his right avoiding the swipe and, coincidentally, the shots to his abdomen. He rolled and stood to his opponent's left, bringing his rifle up to his shoulder and eye and fired off a single rough towards the man's left flank. He didn't remain stationary but began to cricle round towards the man's back, trying to force him to spin around wildly as he fired off a second round towards what he hoped would be the man's chest cavity.*

Re: Kessendra Stadium

*Doma missed, but he had the slightest bit of Force Sensitivity in him. What could he do? Augmentation and a little bit of Shatterpoint (the defensive break-through kind, not the smashing walls kind). He was already wheeling around backwards the opposite way of his opponent to get some power on a backswing that could prove to be startling at the least. Of course, this guy was the Champion, so who knew what Doma was in for.

Anywho, he was spinning and a first shot knicked his right shoulder and went spinning off into the stands. He felt no pain of any kind, just a sly sense of relief and worry. His entire right arm from the shoulder down to the veyr blades that constituted his fingers was coated in strong durasteel/phrik alloy. The slug shot into his arm was plenty to dent and probably tear into the metal, but this first sloppy shot was not something that could damage the electronics. Yet, mind you.

The second shot was more well-aimed, but Doma had fallen directly into position and was turning straight into the second shot. However, this pirate was never taught to be nimble. He was never taught to be light on his feet. In fact, he was a klutz some of the time, and only when jousting squarely with Adumari duelists could he maintain the best of footing. The floor of this arena was slightly sandy as many arenas were (if it's not, correct me at your pleasure), and Doma's weight was obviously not distributed correctly on the one leg he was supposedly balanced on. He slipped with his right leg sliding to the right and his left knee kitting the ground as Doma went down. It had looked like he was lunging into an expertly low position like some ninja assasin in the holo-vids teenage aliens and humans alike watched in their free time.

The bullet initially meant to stop his heart took him on the right cheek instead. This was also a grazing blow, but just barely. It broke the skin and cracked the cheek bone cleanly, and blood splurted from the quickly created wound as the bullet also knicked the top of his ear before zipping away for good. Besides the pain, Doma was already bringing up the blaster in his left hand again and firing as the bullet was causing its damage. These shots were fired in the basic direction of the Champion who was obviously quite close and could have a good chance of scoring a hit. The same cluster of three laser blasts was Doma's attack choice. At the same time, Doma was swinging his sword out defensively to try and ward off the Champion. He squinted his right eye to avoid getting squirting blood in it and in response to the pain.*

Re: Kessendra Stadium

*Qymaen dropped backwards onto the hard floor of the arena, jarring his head backwards as he did but avoiding the swipe and the blaster bolts...mostly. One of the bolts clipped his left leg above the knee, no serious damage but enough to annoy Qymaen and also awaken him to the true danger the man posed. He tucked his knees up and his chin in, despite the now thumping headache his drop has caused, and rolled backwards to put some distance between himself and the foe. He came to a stop on his right knee and took aim with his rifle quickly, the first 2 shots were aimed roughly at the man's hips but were just to get his eye in, the third shot was much more accurately aimed and fired towards the man's groin. He did not stand but kept the rifle trained on the opponent, waiting and watching to see what unveils....*

Re: Kessendra Stadium

*What could be done, oh what could be done?

Doma was slowly getting in between a rock and a hard place, and he had to get out of the situation before things went awry in the extreme and he gave his life for no particular reason. This guy was good, with his blastershots flying at him once again. The shots rang out to Doma as the pirate was already moving.

Boom...
Boom...

Boom...

The first two were in close succession, and Doma was spinning his sword blade like a propellor in front of his body and he was turning to the right in a set of pivots that would slowly bring him around to the Champion's left. The first two shots, which were outside to begin with, were knocked off of the spinning and also impervious blade. The third shot was much more dangerous. It was directed exactly where the hilt spun around. The bullet smacked straight into the metal hilt and burrowed its way in but neither broke the hilt nor knocked it out of the robotic grip of Doma's right hand. However, since the firing mechanism for the Adumari blastsword was in that hilt, the two laser bursts saved up on the one charge fired out of the top of the sword and into the crowd where two species of alien spectators were killed by the stray shots. The Champion had effectively rid the surprise of the blastsword. But Doma responded by raising the blaster pistol and firing all of the remaining shots as he began side-pedaling to get behind the Champion by way of the left flank.

Trouble...damnit...he got my surprise.*

Re: Kessendra Stadium

*Qymaen smiled to himself behind his mask, hidden from the man, the sword had released a bolt into the crowd killing a few fans. A nasty surprise to be sure, but not any more. The Kaleesh stood and began to circle to his right, matching the movement of his opponent, skipping quickly a couple of paces to avoid the shots. He noted the swords ability to fire away and refocused on the task in hand.

His Outland Rifle was up at his shoulder trained upon the man but he did not fire, continuing to circle instead. The weapon had 2 rounds remaining in the cartridge, another 2 magazines tucked inside his waistband, but he would not waste them. The Kaleesh warrior fixed the man with his gold eyes, he was the Champion, this is his arena, if you wish to be the man you have to beat the man and Qymaen knew this. He would not rush in and engage the man, he had come here searching for the Champion and had found him. He snarled lowly as he watched for the foe's next move....*

Re: Kessendra Stadium

*Luckily for the dissenters who had been rallying at the Stadium, once the soldiers and armor arrived they were long gone. Deciding instead of razing the entire establishment, the soldiers began reinforcing the location and made it one of their small base of operations. A secondary headquarters for all military actions that would happen in the area.* *Auto-turrets and a brief and small minefield were set up around the Stadium and anti-aircraft emplacements were constructed on the high walls of the Stadium. Tents and other semi-permanent facilities were placed on the Stadium grounds and a working base was soon forged out of nothingness.*

Re: Kessendra Stadium

*Normality returned to Kessel and along with it, Kessendra Stadium. New fortune seekers rushed to the arena to see new and exciting matches that SI were rumored to secretly be supporting. Champions were sought out and highly prized and bets were largely centered around prize matches.* *Scorpia Industries silently began seeking out small training camps on Kessel to raise a new generation of strong Gladiator-styled warriors to fight for them and their glory in the arena. Truthfully, their own interest was in the credits made from the matches themselves and the proceedings afterwords, but the warriors would fight for their own glory, and in most cases, their own freedom itself.*

*They wouldn't be free men after all.*
