Re: Kohlma

Sidara came through the door and her first instinct was to look for Corr. She heard his voice, and it didn't sound good.

:: Corr... Corr.. you ok? ::

She immediately found him on his knees and ran to him. She knelt down in front of him.

:: Corr. What happened. You aren't ok. We need to get you out of here and looked at. You are bleedimg. Corr.... ::

Sid didn't hide the alarm in her voice. She was worried he was seriously injured. She needed to get him out of there, and looked at by a doctor. She didn't want to lose him. Flashbacks of their last mission rushed into her head. She swallowed back the lump in her throat. Getting all emotional right now wasn't going to help. She had to think fast.

:: Corr. How do you want me to help you. We need to move you. I need to get you to a doctor. I am no losing you now. ::

Re: Kohlma

*Grimacing in pain he waved off Sidara for now and beckoned to Kirith as he pulled off his buy'ce with obvious effort. His face was drawn, pale and obviously in pain. He was also sweating.
As the spacer approached he gestured to the consols.*

Get the lights up and see what we've got here.

*His breathing was laboured and he clutched his abdomen as Sidara helped him to his feet. He scowled at her but there was no malice int he gesture.*

No doctors. Field dressing. Cauterise the wound with a Jetii'Kad if you must... *He grinned.* Besides I know a few Jetii tricks myself.

*He didn't mention the accelerated healing Force users could bring into play. It was an uneccessary detail. Instead he looked to Lech.*

Secure the room, ner tat. We don't want any surprises.

*As Kirith and Lech went about their tasks he pulled Sidara close.*

You need to get this breatplate off... *He said as he lobbed the bucket into the corner.* But be carefull. I am pretty beat up.

Re: Kohlma

The worry washed over Sidara's face. He was hurt, and it worried her more than she wanted to admit.

Be still, let me get this off of you.

Sid gently ran her hands over the edges of the breast plate and tugged gently until it came free, setting it down on the ground. His shirt was soaked with blood and sweat.

Just be still, I am going to get this shirt off of you, so I can see what I am dealing with here.

Sidara looked at him, and tried to mask her concern. She worked the shirt down off of his shoulders to his waist and began examining him to see where his wounds where. Sidara pulled out a rag and opened her flask, soaking the rag with whiskey. She began cleaning his chest with it, so she could see where he had gotten hit.

You know, you bring me on this mission, and manage to get yourself hurt. What the hell did you do that for? You can't get hurt, Corr. Don't you know you are invincible?

Her rambling was covering up her fear of losing him. As she was washing him, it hit her. She had feelings for him! Her eyes widened and she stopped and looked at him, startled at her admission. Oh hell... she was falling in love with Corr in the middle of this damn mission. And now he was hurt... what if he didn't make it .... She shook her head and pushed the thought out of her head. It just wasn't going to happen. He always made it. No question. Sid continued cleaning his wounds.

I think I can take care of this here. I just need to find something suitable for bandages and we will get you fixed up in no time. Sound good?

Re: Kohlma

*Grimicing he allowed himself to be undressed as Sidara started to minister to him. A gasp escaped him as the whiskey burned very nearly as much as the blaster bolt had.
A partially cauterised wound oozing bloody was revealed beneath the crimson stain and he narrowed his eyes at it. Several inches higher and it could have been fatal.
He looked up at Sid as she continued her ramblings as she pulled out a med-kit.
His voice was a whisper.*

Sounds good, Sid'ika.

Re: Kohlma

Sid nodded and bit her bottom lip. The wound needed to be cauterized. She needed it to stop bleeding before he lost too much blood. She looked around the room to see what she had to work with. Nothing seemed to be suitable. Sid's brow furrowed as she thought about what else she could do. There was a needled and sturdy thread in her med pack. She looked at him and decided it was her best option.

Ok, Corr. We have to do this the hard way. I can't cauterize this wound. I am going to get it drunk and then sew you up. It's going to hurt like hell. Not much I can do about it.

Sidara unscrewed the top of her flask and took a swig, handing it to Corr. Take a swig and then lay down on the table here. I will do it as fast as I can. She pulled the bandana off her head and shook her hair out. She rolled it up and knotted it in the middle. You can bite on this if you need to.

Sidara threaded the needle and set it aside. She looked at Corr and tried to smile at him. You ready?

Re: Kohlma

*Sniffing disdainfully Corr gestured to his concealed pounch where his Lightsaber rested. Meeting Sidara's eyes with an expression of indifference, though she could see the masked pain in his eyes, he glanced down at the wound.*

Like cauterising it would hurt less?

*He eyed the needle and thread warily as she removed them from her med-pack and waved away the attention.*

Wait! Are you qualified to do this osik? *His gaze became slightly amused.* You can't even cook!!!

*Pushing her hands away he reached into his armour and removed a laser scalpel, activating it on with a deft flick.*

Where did you get your med-kit from? Endor?

*He handed her the scalpel and rotated his shoulder with a wince. The collision with the floor had bruised his entire left-hand side and the joint popped as he moved his arm back into place.
Drawing on his knowledge of meditation he sank slowly into a state bordering on unconciousness and whispered in a drowsy voice.*

Just seal it. We haven't got time to mess around.

Re: Kohlma

Sidara scowled at Corr.

Seriously, for starters- you gave me this med pack before we left, so if you are going to complain about it, complain to yourself. Secondly... hush. You make a very impatient patient.

Sid took the laser from his hand and pushed him to lay back.

Can't even cook. How would you know? I've never cooked for you. Damn, I need a cigarette.

Sidara looked at the wound and touched the scalpel to it, sealing the wound. The bleeding slowed until she had the entire wound cauterized. She wiped away the rest of the blood and then began covering it with the bandages she found in the bottom of the med pack.

There. You should be good for now. Is there anything else you'd like?

Re: Kohlma

*A hiss escaped the big Mando as she sealed the wound and his teeth clenched tightly as the pain ground at him. Still, he'd had worse. He distracted himself by watching the wispy tails of smoke rising from the wound.
Fidling with his gauntlet pad as Sidara wrapped the wound he called up a thermo-imaging scan of the surrounding rooms and studied the read-out.
He looked up as she spoke, surprised that she had finished already.*

You can smoke if you want. I doubt it matters to this place anymore.

*He shut down the datapad and moved his torso from left to right. It was tight and painful (Thats what she said) but managable.
He smiled at her question.*

A kiss? A bacon sammich? Maybe...

*He looked at her suggestively.*

Re: Kohlma

*Lech coughs loudly in Corr's direction.*

"Room's clear, except for the two of you. Kirith and I could give you some privacy, if you like? You've got your choice of secluded alcoves. Really not much else in here; it looks like some kind of bordello."

*The smell of burning flesh drifts over to Lech from Corr's side. It's strong enough even inside his helmet to make him gag. A few quick blinks and his helmet seals from the outside air and filters it.*

"That smells gross. Any plan on getting out of here? I didn't see any other doors and there seems to be a few droids still outside of that one. Not that I would mind staying here. It's a lot nicer than any place I've been in a long time. Plus there's a pretty good male-to-female ratio. Did I mention the private alcoves and the fact that the room looks like a bordello?"

Re: Kohlma

*Corr stood up with only the slightest wobble and grimace before gesturing to his belt.*

Jetii'Kad, ner tat. I'll just use that as a key.

*He glanced around at all the terminals with a curious expression, wondering...(Just as he wondered what Sidara's response would be)*

Let's not be too hasty though. This room may have what we're looking for...

*He glanced at Kirith who was wandering around aimlessly.*

Kid! Fancy having a look at these terminals? I know they we're probably made when your Buir was a kid but... See what you can do.

*With Sidara at his side and Lech covering the door, he made his way to the wall on his immediate left and put his buy'ce back on.
Activating the termal imagin scanners and studying the wall carefully he attempted to find the best place to cut through without damaging any of the primary systems for the room...*

Re: Kohlma

*Kirith frowned when she saw that Corr had been hurt, but was more than willing to step aside to let Sid do the tending. The two of them had acted ... odd ... since the beginning of the mission. Certainly in many ways unlike her interactions with him, although she couldn't quite pinpoint the difference. Besides, Sidara looked like she might shoot something if she couldn't take care of Corr, and Kirith didn't particularly know how to fix beings that went 'sploosh,' so Kirith was more than willing to give them the space they needed. She wandered around the room, blaster in hand, trying to get a feel for where they were in the complex, and to make sure that the door would indeed hold against those droids Corr had turned on.*

*At Corr's suggestion she look at the terminals, she said half heartedly over her shoulder,*"You know, I'm not that much younger than you. If my 'buir' was a kid, yours was too, probably!"

*She went over to the terminal and began examining the system. It was old, true, but when one wasn't used to have lots of credits at one's fingertips, a girl made sure she got used to old computer systems. Grabbing one of her older connector links out of her bag, she plugged it into the terminal, and began running a password decryption algorithm.*

"What exactly do you want me to do?" *she asked.*

*Locating a spot that seemed to run between a power coduit and part of the ventalation system, Corr drew out his Lightsaber and glanced over his shoulder towards Kirith.*

:: Just downlaod as much as you can but keep a special eye out dor Corellian Jedi hiding durning the purge and anything that might explain that giant suspension unit back there. ::

*His lightsaber sprang to life with its distinctive snap-hiss and the steady glow illuminated the wall in front .
The blueish blade sank effortlessly into the wall as the big Mando began to carefully cut his way through.*

:: Maybe we can find a clue as to what was in there. ::

*He didn't sound very hopef and, just after he had finished the cut, Sidara was traking a long step to put her in front of of the seasoned veteran.*

*The cut piece of durasteel clanged to the floor with its edges still glowing angrily from where the lightsaber had cut them. Scowling Corr threw up a hand as he disengaged the energy blade and returned it to its place.*

:: Not now, Sid'ika ::

*He stepped past the fiesty Mandalorian female and peered into the hole. His image enhancing on his visor was still struggling to focus so he reverted to basics by flashing a glowrod. It would be a tight fit for him but the others should be ok. There was a maintenance crawlspace heading in both directions.
Scooting back onto his haunches he called up his hologram of the layout on his left gauntlet just as the computer that Kirith was using pinged.*

:: What have you got, Kid? ::

Re: Kohlma

Sidara quickly packed up the med kit, and threw it in her pack. She patted her pant leg for her cigarettes. She was itching for one. High stress situations, or anytime she was with Corr, she needed to smoke. She heard him tell her not now, and decided to wait until she knew more about where they were. No need to draw more attention to the group.

They were waiting for Kirith to report back. It seemed like an eternity, and Sid was anxious. She chewed on her lip and waited as long as her short patience would let her.

"Gimmie a sec," *said Kirith.* "I've only got this tiny datapad on me, the processing power isn't as high as it is on the Cat, so this takes time to run the decryption algorithm. If you want, I can just copy the files and send them to Cat, and have her take care of it while we go further in."

Re: Kohlma

*Shutting down the hologram as he waved a distracted hand through the air he was about to reply when the door gave a resounding "clang" as if something big had just ran into it. An ominous chill descended over them but Corr was ready for it this time. Whatever it was seemed to ooze helplessness and despair.
Casting an uneasy glance over his shoulder he scooted back to the hole and waved Kirith over.*

:: I guess we take it with us ::

*He shone the flashlight to the right before making room for the others to go first.*

:: The walkway connects with the next room roughly fifty yards in. There should be a maintenance hatch around there. Most of these older generation labs have them at regular intervals. ::

*He glanced around as another impact hit the door. He noticed the heavy blast door trembling from the contact.*

:: Try to bypass the hatch. If we can we'll have to cut through ::

*He hoped that whatever was trying to break in was too large to follow them.*

Re: Kohlma

Sid heard the thud beyond the door and jumped, grabbing Corr's arm.

Holy hell, what is that???

Sid looked at the door, and then at the hole, gripping her blaster tight in the other hand.

Corr, we gotta move. Whatever is on the other side of that door is pissed and I don't want to be the one to find out how much or why.

Re: Kohlma

They were there. Things were there. It could feel them. It hungered to rip them apart. To break their minds. Tear their souls. Smash their bodies.
It couldn't put these needs into coherent thoughts. It just longed to do what it longed to do. The craving to bend them to its will or shatter their puny bodies thundered through what was left of the things mind sparking implants into firing rage-inducing electrodes and give off stimulants and hormones to intensify its rage.
The thing let out a perculiar noise. It was part howl, part scream, part sob. Soon it intensified into a full blow sonic thunderstorm. With it, tearing through the force, was a paralysing storm of despair, rage and hatred.
The shiny barrier would not yield as it slammed its massive bulk into it again.
Another scream. Another blast of psychic woe.
The being raised its fist, black eyes staring at it intensly.
At first nothing happened.
Then...

Szzznap-hizzzz

The monstered cooed in delight at the appearance of the crimson energy blade. A child-like cry of happiness that lasted for a second only. Black eyes returned to the shiny barrier as the thing plunged the red blade into the door and started rakeing it around in a frenzied manner.
Soon.
Rip. Tear. Break.

Re: Kohlma

"Got it," *said Kirith, looking back at the blast door, attempting to ignore the cold chill that seemed to emanate from it. She wasn't sure what it was, but she knew that there was something Very Bad. The muffled inhuman howl seemed to confirm it, and Kirith quickly unplugged her datapad from the computer, sending as much as she could to Cat, before she started hurrying towards the maintenance hatch.*

*Trusting the others to keep an eye behind her, Kirith kneeled in front of the hatch's control panel, quickly ripping it off to get at the wiring underneath. Almost without looking, what felt like adrenaline rushing through her system, her hand reached towards the necessary wires to override the locking system. If she had time to think about it, she might have wondered how the knowledge of what to do came so easily, without even needing to study the system.*

*There was a hiss, and the hatch opened, revealing the maintenance walkways (and occasional crawl ways) behind.*

"I got it," *she said.* "I suggest you guys get it, and I'll rig this to stay shut behind us. I don't suppose we have anything we could toss down the walkway to make it look like we went that way? Might save us sometime, if whatever behind us thinks we're going the other way."

Re: Kohlma

*Wincing from the sickening emotions rolling through the force as he watched Kirith gain access to theit escape route Corr fumbled with his inventory. Discarding a few minor explosives he at last settled on something he'd cooked up earlier. He pulled the improvised device out and examined it as Kirith and Sid precceeded him onto the walkway.*

:: Not really... :: *He muttered in answer to Kiriths question.* :: But this might slow it down. ::

*He flicked on a sixty second countdown and hurried after the two women, allowing the hatch to seal behind him as Kirith had arranged.*

:: Lets get a good way away from here before we get back into the labs. That was a "dirty" bomb. It'll contaminate the area for several hours. ::

*Consulting his hologram-map again he nodded towards a ladder leading to another walkway above before shutting the hologram down and pulling his blaster.
The walkways and access tunnels were lit by dim emergency lighting with a low red undertone. The sounds of machinery hummed in the background as air intakes, heating generators and purification systems ticked over on their standby settings.
Reaching the ladder Corr wasted no time in ascending to the next level. He paused as the others clambered up after him.
Once they were all together he looked at Kirith directly.*

:: Did you feel that thing back there? ::

*He didn't have to say "did you feel it in the force" He was sure they'd all felt the despair but wanted to know if Kirith felt, as he did, that the projection was coming from one being alone.*
