Re: Main Halls
But in his periphery senses, Aerandir felt the appearance of someone else. Ksandra... she had entered through the hole in the wall, so she had a clear path to Maul behind these troopers. Thank God... but that didn't cause Aerandir to slow down. No, in fact, his efforts were only strengthened, until at last the two forces collided like a wave upon a cliff. Aerandir and the Jedi tore through the troopers, cutting them down one by one, taking no injury apart from a stray blaster bolt that hit one Jedi in the leg, downing him.
Once Aerandir broke through, he darted through the halls, the Jedi behind him moving to defend the opening in the wall. Aerandir homed in on Maul, who was in the same vicinity as Michelle, Morgan, Ksandra, and another child. Morgan's presence felt weak... "Oh, God, no," Aerandir found himself whispering in his thoughts, but merely pressed onward. Suddenly, however, Morgan's presence seemed to become strengthened... after a moment, Maul's disappeared, apparently having been killed, before Morgan's presence weakened again.
... Had she just... ?
Aerandir ran, kept running, but then slowed to a stop when he entered the part of the hall where they all were gathered. Sure enough, Maul was dead on the floor. Michelle was kneeling, the boy was standing, and Ksandra had just stood, Morgan in her arms. With Maul dead, Aerandir deactivated his weapon, clipping his weapon and striding forward towards Ksandra, towards his daughter, who seemed to be unconscious.*
Is she alright?
*The question came on a father's instinct; he had already been moving to examine her condition. She looked dirty. There was a gash on her forehead; blood had smeared across the upper part of her face, though the flow seemed to have ceased recently. Aerandir reached forward to check her pulse; it was weakened, but the girl was not dying.*
What happened?
*Aerandir reached forward and took Morgan from Ksandra, cradling her in his arms and looking down at her with the utmost of fatherly concern. She didn't appear to be damaged apart from that gash, and it was an easily treatable wound. Briefly, Aerandir had flashbacks of holding her shredded and bleeding form after the Psallo attack, and he visibly almost panicked; he had never wished to experience anything like that ever again. But she was fine, the gash would heal and not leave a scar. And besides, there was a dead Sith on the floor. Granted there was still a war going on outside, but them losing one of their greatest generals was definitely a boon to the Jedi.*
