*Dholthar came back to the ship late into the night after yet another long day of stumping around to yet another medicorp in the city and making his pitch. It always started the same with a meeting with some pathetic sniveling underling and producing a vial that they were never allowed to touch, which invariably led to a meeting with the head of research and development. It was then that he broke out the holovid of his "master" with the conditions: that he would provide the company with a sizable sample of kolcta for testing and potentially synthesizing purposes, and in exchange he would expect the company to give his agent Dholthar a sizable financial contribution as well as stocks in the company to foster a partnership in this endeavor. Kolcta was so rare that while it might be attainable in tiny amount to the uber-rich for emergency purposes, it was never in large enough supply to do any kind of clinical testing or compositional typing on a mass scale required to attempt a viable synthetic. The recording also alluded that more could possibly be available for sale if required.
Of course this was probably an unattainable goal as far as Dholthar understood yet all the select companies he had approached jumped at the opportunity to try and be the first to succeed anyways. While this was highly unethical as well as dangerous to be playing so many sides at once, Dholthar was positive that the secrecy each company would require for undertaking such a project would make it very safe for the next while at the very least....long enough to insert himself into each of the companies and get his hands into everything else they may have going. Which, in the end, was what he was really interested in.
Smiling to himself, Dholthar accessed the shipping hold and openned one of the shipping crates stored there to reveal dozens of one litre insulated durasteel cylinders packed ever so neatly. Plucking out four to distribute to each of the CEOs he had signed deals with, he sealed and locked the container once more before setting his wares aside and then settling in for a good night's sleep before the big day tomorrow.*
