***The New Broadcasts are not without their Critics. Particularly among some of the more well-informed scholars in the University of Ophaz. While the masses might accept the NOE sources, partly because most people want to believe that others always tell the truth. However, some of the scholars had close connections with the government leading up to the NOE's unprovoked attacks. Others, Historians and ethnic studies, had known more about the Fallanassi than the average person, and a Fallanassi insurrection was rather uncharacteristic of the group.
One or 2 of the scholars teaching in the university had an inside perspective of the NOE. In fact, there was a professor who Knew Lord Havok by his real name: Anaximander.
Upon hearing that Carratos was under the "protection of someone named "Havok", Corvin Trent did some database searches to find some images or footage of this person. Imagine Trent's surprise to see the pale delicate and scholarly face of Anaximander as the person in charge of the NOE-Carratos "relief" operations. Time had made its marks on him, but Anaximander and this "Havok" were one and the same!
Professor Trent had gone to school at the University of Onderon, and met Anaximander(aka Havok) almost 15 years ago, while working on his graduate studies. His aquantaince with Anaximander had been somewhat short, though It had made a strong impression on him. Trent was working as a Teacher's Assistant, and Anaximander had been another student in the class. "The Philosophical Development of Metaphysics as an Area of Empirical Inquiry.": A Hefty class that most Graduate students struggled with. Anaximander had been 16 at the time and stuck out like a sore thumb in the class full of students in their late 20's.
Trent could remember reading and grading the essays and other assignments and discovering that Anaximander had written the first half of his essay in quotes: He had cited a class lecture almost verbatim from memory(he did cite it correctly). The second half of the paper, Anaximander tore the conventional standings on the subject to shreds, and then offered a better argument.
It has thought that Anaximander had cheated, until he was called upon to recite the lecture from memory. Anaximander stood for 3 and a half hours repeating word for word any lecture the professors had asked him to repeat. Afterward He had offered, unsolicited, his arguments that he had formulated in his paper.
The performance had stunned the Professors. Not only Had Anaximander perfect recall, but he also possessed an incredible intellect. For all practical purposes, the inquiry into Anaximander's dishonesty turned into a Defense of a Paper he wrote worthy to be a Doctoral thesis. On every point Anaximander's arguments were valid and sound. His analysis was spot on and his conclusions monumental. In less than 24 pages Anaximander had seemingly solved a problem philosophers had been wrestling with for several centuries. His argument was a very original point of view, and it definitely advanced the general body of knowledge on the topic. The outcome of the hearing was that his paper was to be published in the Corescant Philosophical Journal; perhaps one of the most prestigious journals of philosophy in the galaxy. In addition, Anaximander was offered an opportunity to take an extensive Oral Exam that would test his abilities in all the necessary areas. If he passed, he would be awarded his undergraduate degree and his paper, with a few format changes, would be accepted as his doctoral thesis.
Anaximander passed the exam with flying colors, and to the dismay of fellow undergrad peers, given his degree and a Ph.D. in Theoretical Philosophy.
Anaximander became the youngest person to be offered a professorship at the University of Onderon at the age of 16.
Yes, Anaximander had had a very bright future indeed; several professors were already predicting that he might easily become one of the most influential philosophers of the century. It made what happened halfway through the next school year that much more shocking.
There accusations that Anaximander had been involved in several unscrupulous and possibly illegal activities. The particulars had been closely guarded and Trent didn't know very much about it except Anaximander suddenly disappeared.
Many said that his disappearance proved his guilt, but Trent hadn't been too sure. Anaximader's epic rise had created many enemies among professors and students alike...
Even though Anaximander disappeared, his work appeared in several journals. It seemed in Anaximander's hiding, he still contributed articles to philosophy. And no one knew where he was, or what he was doing... until now.**
