Re: OOC RP Planning and Dispute Resolution

Hey all, I'm spending the weekend camping with my Bio Dad, having met him just today, and am expected to be back by Monday :)

Nex, tis your post currently so I will respond to it when I get back. :)

Shawn, Drach, you two can go ahead and argue politics for a bit while I am gone. Thrawn can take a "lean back and listen" moment. :)

See yall in a few days!

Re: OOC RP Planning and Dispute Resolution

lmao, doesn't surprise me :P
I highly doubt I'd be able to beat any of you guys to be entirely honest (especially a Force using Mandalorian in Bes'kar [which is an oxymoron within itself]. It's like going up against a tank with a wooden baseball bat). To be honest I'd rather have you kill me again...

Re: OOC RP Planning and Dispute Resolution

Mandalorian for the sake of heritage, not advantages. It plays into my background story. I've never actually been part of the ME or anything, and I've never really lived by their code.

Also... For that armor, where is the power source located?

Re: OOC RP Planning and Dispute Resolution

The back. There's six power cells located within the spine. (I'm assuming you're talking about the exo-muscle armor)

And the spine portions covering the power cells are solid metal, not the synthetic muscles, so they're one of the most protected areas of the suit.

And tracking heat won't work. It has a stygium cloak, which hides thermal signatures too.

But you can still see it with the naked eye. Wookies only says it blocks scanners, and the island they were found on only by sight due to the Mists surrounding the island.
Cloak all ya like, we can still you.

Re: OOC RP Planning and Dispute Resolution

Actually you can't....

I'm pretty sure that was already established in a debate in the GSTC.

And as an example, I'll point out the phantom TIE's. Which use stygium and turn completely invisible. Including to the naked eye.

No wher does it state you cant see something with a Stygium cloak. Its the other one you cant see. I think.

Re: OOC RP Planning and Dispute Resolution

Not. If heat could be detected through a stygium cloak it would be ridiculously easy to track a cloaked ship.

Re: OOC RP Planning and Dispute Resolution

Wade and Drach, Stygium cloaking has contradicting facts on sources, on the original Stygium crystal page, it is implied that they only block scanners with the following statement:

There was also an entire island on Maramere composed of the crystals, which made it invisible to scanners. Since the island was also covered with the fog surrounding the Haunted Strait, the island was also invisible to the eye, making it the perfect hideout for Sol Sixxa.

where as on the TIE phantom, it claims that it cloaks the ship from both the naked eyes and scanners. Now I can understand that it goes both ways, but I would like to point out the following facts:

1) Stygium has never been used for small objects such as people, only for vehicles
2) There is no natural crystal that would turn something invisible, so there would need a power source large enough to deal with the power requirements to run such a device.

Do you have either of these?

Re: OOC RP Planning and Dispute Resolution

The first one isn't really something we can have, but canonically it's easier to cloak a smaller object. For instance, the Rogue Shadow has a limit to how long it can remain cloaked, and the TIE phantom does not. So there's no concrete evidence either way, but what evidence there is is in favor of smaller things cloaking easier. And a person is a pretty small thing in comparison.

And we do have the second. Like I said before, there's six power cells in the suit. And the TIE phantom didn't require a big oversized generator for it's cloaking device so why would something a mere fraction of the size need one?

Also: the island was just raw stygium. It didn't have any sort of the augmentation that putting the crystal in a cloaking device obviously created (otherwise, why not just throw a box of crystals in the trunk and call it good?).

Re: OOC RP Planning and Dispute Resolution

I don't want to have to listen to a pissing contest.

I want a ruling from the Whills. Not from the Role Play Councillors, and especially not from the Science Councillors. The Whills.

Re: OOC RP Planning and Dispute Resolution

I get the feeling that a lot of the whills would tell you that the science councilors know more about this kind of stuff than they do. But go ahead and ask away, I'm just telling it like it is to the best of my knowledge and reasoning.

Re: OOC RP Planning and Dispute Resolution

I think, and I am not trying to be rude, though I do honestly believe that you may have bias on the subject Wade for obvious reasons.

I disagree with having Stygium on armor entirely because its impractical, its expensive, rare and has much better uses, why not just use a simple stealth field generator?
