*Fleet re-assignments within the Clan Ordinii Navy had been made, and after a brief recall to Lehon for provisioning and to swap personnel, Admiral Gates found himself once more looking at the Koros system as his fleet pulled out of hyperspace on the far side of the Koros star from Empress Teta. He listened silently for a moment to the hyperdrive cooling system's gentle churning, his eyes fixed to his tactical display as he measured just how perfectly his fleet's hyperspeed exit synchronization had been.*

*Admiral Gates and Captain Tor, his sometimes understudy, sometimes partner, watched the near random movements of the starship traffic flitting through realspace around the megalopolis world, and silently marveled that such a populous planet's traffic lanes were as empty as they were. It was almost like the calm before the storm. Yes, that was it, Gates muttered to himself. Something unpleasant was brewing out there. He stared at the stars and the drive trails of the many passing freighters. Yes. He could sense the vibe. It was too quiet for this to be an innocent lull in the traffic. Something sinister was lurking out there, beyond the range of his scopes. But what was it?*

*After receiving information from Ordinii command, Admiral Gates nodded to Captain Tor, who issued the necessary orders. Re: Open Orbit

*A significant cleanup and renovation project was begun at the Koros Spaceworks shipyards in Empress Teta's orbit. The aging facility, first reconstructed by their Mandalorian liberators close to 20 years ago, was beginning to show the signs of age. In addition, it was past time to install a newer generation of equipment. The Yards were taken out of service, one slip at a time, and completely overhauled. Incom officials oversaw the actions of their local counterparts, and provided advise. The project would take weeks, if not longer, but would leave Empress Teta stronger and more self-sufficient in the end.*

    Progress: 10%

~

*Koros Spaceworks, Primary Control Station, Conference Room Cresh-Five, Week Two*

*The young Tetan businessman Arin Krath'ad stood up, and a short grin split his chiseled face as he stared out behind long blond dreadlocks with curiosity in his deep green eyes, as Incom Vice President Serr Morten was escorted into the room. The short green Rodian executive was, despite his stature, an impressive sight in his three piece Couruscanti dress suit and shining black beskar-toed boots.*

=Arin Krath'ad=
"Ah, greetings, Mr. Morten!" *The blond-haired Koros Spaceworks representative called as he rose from his seat and crossed the room, offering his hand to the Rodian.* "Thank you for coming. I trust your shuttle fight was satisfactory and uneventful, and I hope that you will find that our progress has been most satisfactory.

=Serr Morten=
"Thank you, Arin. And please, do call me Serr." *He took the proffered hand and shook it firmly, then took a step towards the conference table.* "The shuttle fight was as smooth as always, thanks to your well-trained pilots. On the way over I had a chance to read your report, and I am impressed at the progress thus far. There were a few points, however, that I wished to review...."

*The meeting lasted about an hour and twenty minutes, and when it was over, both men were satisfied that the Koros Spaceworks renovation was on track and running smoothly. In fact, it appeared to be ahead of schedule. Reassured, Morten took a shuttle to the surface for an early dinner.*

Re: Open Orbit

*All the rusted old metal, and all the decaying superstructures, and all the dirt and grime of a generation of hard work, and all the antiquated machinery and obsolete assembly lines had been stripped away, and the Koros Stardrive shipyards lay bare and naked, picked clean by an army of shipyard renovation experts. Now the hard part, but also the fun part, was beginning: the reconstruction of all the new facilities and the installation of all the new machinery on top of the orbital framework that had been deemed solid enough to be saved. Weeks had passed, and the daily progress reports remained positive. If anything, Incom and KSW were ahead of schedule.*

    Progress: 50%

~

*Koros Spaceworks, Primary Control Station, Holoconference Room Aurek-Nine, Week Five*

*Arin Krath'ad, a datapad in each hand and a sheaf of flimsi blueprints under one arm, pushed open the door of the small holoconference room, and spilled his documentation on the oblong table inside. Brushing his long blonde locks out of his eyes, he crossed the room and drew a cup of stimcaf, then took a seat facing the holotranceiver camera. Taking a sip, he set the styro mug down and keyed Serr Morten's channel at Incom's Fresia Headquarters.*

=Krath'ad=
"Serr, I have prepared your weekly report." *The Tetan businessman announced promptly, as the visual of the Rodian Incom executive appeared on the table in front of him.* "This week we were able to....

*After a three week stay in the Deep Core, the Incom Vice President had returned home to Fresia, confident that the project was in good hands, and every week since his departure, Arin had been sure to call the Rodian and inform him of the progress that was being made. Each report lasted about half an hour.*

*The revamp and restoration of the shipyards was wholly completed and a grand re-opening celebration was thrown. to celebrate the joint Mandalorian-Tetan engineering achievement, and the completion of the bright, shining, modernized ship construction facility. A world of economic benefits would be sure to follow this beneficial investment by the Incom Corporation in one of the Core's most populous planets. Krath'ad and Morten were both present for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.*

*The "Fatum" enters orbit from the planet surface. There is no hesitation in it's pilot's actions as it accelerates farther and farther away from the planet. The black hull of the Delaya-Class Cruiser blends well into the vastness surrounding it. The space around the ship feels tainted, like something dark is in fact living in the vacuum around it. Powerful surges of dark energy can be felt, waves pulsing from within the ship's hull. There is something dark, something ominous about this ship and anyone who may happen to stumble across it on their scanners is compelled to some extent to travel far away from it, to avoid it at all costs. It is not a command, or a blanket reaction, but the compulsion to avoid the ship is present.*

*In a brief yet powerfully intense flash, the Cruiser makes the jump to hyperspace, dark tendrils swirling about in the area once occupied by it. They slowly swirl outwards and dissipate.*

=The Nine=
*The "Caries" follows a distance behind the "Fatum", it's darkened hull also blending in well, but the main purpose of this ship was not stealth. Death reeked in it's corridors and interior, plague could be felt throughout the ship. There were nine beings on board, each one a different essence. Each was their own individual, but they were all connected, interweaving and of one mind. They were The Nine.*

*The "Caries", a modified VCX-700 Heavy Courier does the same, heading away from the planet, no hesitation before making a jump into hyperspace.*

*The unidentified VCX-700 is noted by Tetan Control and logged into the daily intelligence reports as it is tracked on its path from the surface into orbit, and then into deep space. The exit vector is recorded, as the vessel passes out of scanner range into hyperspace. No threat was detected.*

Re: Open Orbit

*Six Pterodactyl-class TIE fighters dropped from the hold of the Ori'kom'rk, in stationary orbit above the Iron Citadel, and formed up into two flights of three starfighters as they moved down and away from the fleet in orbit. Sweeping across the skyline of the megalopolis planet, they descended towards a remote sections of the planet, one of the few places where cityscape gave way to bare rock. It was here that the Carbonite mining, key to the wealth of Koros, took place. All day long, empty vessels arrives, only to leave once more hours later as heavily loaded cargo haulers. The slow, bulky, awkward ships pulled away from the mining facilities and jumped to hyperspace, escorted by armed Incom support vessels. The whole operation was a fat target for pirates -- if they could find a hole in the Incom security perimeter. And it seemed that one brazen band had found just such a hole. Reports had filtered up to the Ori'kom'rk that two unguarded cargo haulers had been attacked by a pair of gunships that had slipped through a chink in security. Armed with ion-cannons and tractor beams, the pirate ships were designed to disable a transport, then tug it away before help could arrive. The half-squad of interceptors was about to challenge those odds.*
