Launch 2 wings of Rihkxyrk's to patrol around the fleet, have one flight of Ixiyen's on standby. Send the Raider and Vigilant to the far side of the planet and have the Thunderbolt take a position at the North Pole. The rest of the fleet is to stay in formation with the Flagship above the base on the surface.

*A single Nebula-clss star destroyer drops out of hyperspace on the edge of space, nowhere near the Tau Empire 3rd fleet. As the ship reverts to real space it brings up its shields, weapons and sensory equipment to full strength. Rear Admiral Mitchell orders the Nostromo to hold its position between the planet and the hyperspace exit point. They were on picket duty since the Third Fleet had the planet secured.

The Nostromo launches its squadron of A-Wings to start a combat air patrol along set routes of the hyperspace lanes. The squadron break down into 6 groups of 2 that being patrolling the sector around the Nostromo.*

*The fleet continued it's patrol of the system as the Admiral prepared to signal the fleet. The time had come to send part of the fleet to monitor other parts of the Pheonix Imperium under their jurisdiction.*

It's that time again folk, signal the Raider and the Despoiler to prepare a hyperspace jump to Subterrel. Being not too far away they should be there and back quickly, launch the alert Ixiyen's and 3 of the Astrids to go with them. Standard patrol just to see what's up.

*The ships were signalled electronically using an encoded frequency and soo 3 Astrid-class gunships and 6 Ixiyen's launched from the Golden Drum's hanger to form up with the two cruisers who were not preparing to jump to Subterrel. Soon after they formed up they disappeared into the void of hyperspace.*

We are sir but she is out of range of our long-range batteries.
Good, that means she's out of range of her own weapons. Lets keep it that way for now but launch 2 flights of Ixiyens incase of an agressive move.

Sir there is an incoming comm message from the new arrival.

Do we know who he serves and what ship that is yet!?

Not yet sir, the ship is not in the system, however we know she has extensive, what look like, quad turbolaser emplacements and is roughly 1500 meters long. She is powering up her shields and weapons but that's all we can tell from this distance sir.

Tell the fleet to power weapons and shields and have the Thunderbolt lock her weapons on the new arrival just in case. Are those fighters launched yet!?

Yes sir, they have exited the hanger and on their way to take a closer look at the new arrival.

Tell them to scan for a transponder, I'm not going to keep calling him "the new arrival" much longer!

*The entire fleet powered up their shields and the Thunderbolt powered up weapons and acquired the "Empire's Hope" with a weapons lock. The Turbolasers and Ion cannons may have been out of range but the Rail guns still had a chance to hit and if she came any closer she could be turned into toast!

12 Iyiyen-class fast attack craft depart from the Golden Drum and start their fly by of the Empire's Hope. They scan the ship more thoroughly and identify it from it;s transponder.*

*After a short hyperspace jump the elements of the 6th fleet that were on patrol around Subterrel return. They fall back into formation with the rest of the fleet but some of them would be leaving sooner than they thought.*

*Admiral Baal was in his office looking over the orders he had been given. They were good orders but were not without danger. Either way the fleet wouldn't mind as the potential for unusual drills and action was all they'd need. A small scouting force would need to be put together, nothing too big but capable of defending itself. The selection would need to be the best and that was what the Admiral was looking at at the moment.*

A map of the territories of the Phoenix Imperium flashed up with the planet of Irridonia highlighted.*

Gentlemen, today i am sending you on a long range scouting mission. There has been some rumblings from Imperial intelligence about goings on on Irridonia and we mush know more. I am sending both of your squadrons with an attached Astrid gunship to Irridonia to investigate. You are to scan any and all orbital traffic and try and get a picture of what's happening on the ground. The intelligence you gather could be used by the fleet later if high command decided the situation is too unstable and we may have to intervene. Do you understand what is being asked of you?

*Romeo Leader moved off and his squadron knew to follow him in a line out of the Golden Drum's Starboard Hanger. The Gunship followed and they formed a staggered V formation with the larger gunship in the centre.*

*India squadron was the Ixiyen Squadron assigned to the mission and they had been ready for quite a while. Being interceptors they were used to speed in a dog fight as well as on board the mothership.*

*The lead craft made a move out of the Port hanger with the rest of the squadron following. The Gunship had been programmed to follow the orders given to it by India leader and so it followed and formed up into a similar formation to Romeo Squadron. Once at the jump point the Squadrons exchanged hyperdrive data and entered hyperspace side by side.*

*a YT-2000 freighter came out of hyperspace and slowly made it's way into orbit, the refuel light in the cockpit was flashing repeatedly, though Rebecca wouldn't hear it at the moment.*
*she was in the lounge of her ship asleep on the couch,a table of throwing knives and a single carbine in front of her, unwary that she had even come out of hyperspace. Traycin was wondering around the ship somewhere, but for now his whereabouts in the ship were unknown. Rebecca hardly noticed his absence until she counted how many throwing daggers were there.....one was gone, she only assumed it was Traycin's doing.*

*Rebecca lazily rolled over and put the knives back in the case, while at the same time slinging the carbine over her shoulder. her hair was in a long mess at the moment, she was trying to smooth it out with her hand as she walked into the hall and started to make her way through the ship. Rebecca halted for a second and looked out into space, she found that the ship had come out of hyperspace, but couldn't figure out why.*

*She knew that she couldn't have made it to where she was in such a short time, this must have been some random planet the computer stopped at because of some problem. She sighed and decided to make her way to the cockpit to see what was going on*

*A single black CR-90 Corvette exits hyperspace, the "Fool's Justice" is on the hunt for fresh prey. Yasmir had been orders to scour Wild Space for targets of opportunity and to take those chances. Here was a perfect example, a lone freighter out in the middle or nowhere and clearly not in a hurry!*

Shields up, weapons on, helm! Plot an intercept course with that frigate. Fire once we are in range but don't destroy it, yet!

*The bridge crew jumped to their duty, they had trained for this under the watchful eye of the Executioner for a number of weeks and were ready. The ship's engines flared up and the shields hummed on, audible only from within the ship. The weapons also drew power from the main reactor, straining it close to it;s operational tolerances. Speeding forward the ship's main weapons came within range and opened fire.*

*Rebecca just got to the cockpit when she saw the scanner on the dash flashing like crazy, her eyes widened and she lunged towards the controls when the entire ship was shaken to the core by cannon fire. She stumbled over to the controls and tried to turn on the engines and shields, though the engines had already taken to much punishment from that cruise. all she could do was turn on the shields with the remaining power the ship had, but even with that she only had a good five minutes with this kind of fire.*

*Rebecca was cursing to herself in the back of her head, questions were running through her head...not necessarily about why she was being targeted, but who. She had made enough enemies in her travels, though it was hard to think of who would be mad enough to attack like this.*

*she darted out of the cockpit and started to run full speed towards the engine room, the ship was now nothing but a sitting duck in orbit. Rebecca took out a com device that was synced with her ship and hailed the cruiser, speaking in the softest most polite tone that she could muster*

:: hey assholes, your messing up my ship! ::

*unfortunately due to the situation her soft tone came out more like a bear, but hopefully she could buy some time before her ship completely gets torn apart*

*The comm message played through the bridge and Yasmir could see the opening volley do it;s damage. The engines were a priority target and the gunners seemed to be doing their job already. The shields had gone up but this would not stop the determined Executioner.*

Continue to close with the enemy and disable her engines, prepare the boarding team!

*A Reaper stood at the rear of the bridge nodded before departing to the main hold, the Reaper teams were preparing themselves. The commander selected one, twenty man team for the job, the ship wasn't that big but you could never be too careful. They would storm the ship when the time came. They had taken their positions at the airlock as Yasmir replied to the enemies comm-message.*

*He evil laugh fades away as the CR-90 closes fast as more weapons open fire at the engines of the helpless freighter.*

*she cut her messege off there as she finnaly made her way to the engines, they were still intact, just really beat up from the punishment of the corvet.

Rebecca began to switch the engines to it's back up systems to try to get them working again, though it was to late. the sheilds caved and the volly's hammered the ship, the fire on the engines cause a series of small explosions through the engine room that sent Rebecca sliding across the floor and luckily out the door to the hall.*


*she couldn't move at first when she first tried, and Rebecca's ears were ringing like someone had hist her with a gong. she got to where she could finnaly bring her arm up to her face and hailed the pirate ship again.*

:: you know......you can't blow up a ship that you want idiot, it doesn't work that way ::

*Rebecca staggered to her feet and started to make her way down the hall again, she wasn't sure what to do, her engines were broken.....and she fely like she had cracked ribs from being thrown from the engine room like that.*
