*The Reaper team sent through the ventilation ducts burst through into the reactor room and take the enemy totally by surprise as they dispatch the first few they see. It takes but a few seconds for the enemy to react and counter, soon the reactor room is filled with blaster fire and cries from the dead and dying on both sides. Slowly the bulky Togorians were whittled down by superior numbers and lack of cover and after another twenty minutes of fighting it was over. The commander inspected the scene in the reactor room as his troops made sure all the enemy were dead, they had put up a brutal fight and many of his troops were laying dead and even more had been stretchered back to the ship for medical care. The remaining Reapers were patrolling around the ship clearing each room, finding nothing much of value. the engineers from the cruisers were starting to come aboard and take control of the reactor room and most of the ships functions, just waiting on the bridge being taken now.*
*The fighting at the bridge had almost reached the main blast doors, the last obstacle in taking the ship. The enemy had done an annoyingly good job and barricading the corridors and delaying the Reapers advance. The commanders at this end of the ship were starting to wonder if the ship was actually worth the lives of the troopers they were losing. They had in turn been dishing out their fair share of damage but were making slow progress. Over the last half an hour they had pushed the enemy back to the just outside the bridge blast doors and the commanders had a plan. They had stopped their troops using their thermal detonators for the last few minutes in order to build up a large reserve. They then unleashed the wave of thermal detonators and bombed out all the enemy troops in front of the bridge blast doors. The plan was successful but not as successful as they had hoped, the explosion barely scratched the blast doors and special laser cutters from the ships, they would take a while to arrive.*
*After a shorter wait than expected the laser drills arrived and began work on the blast doors. The two teams set them up and they began their work. Taken from the mines of Sernpidal and usually used on solid bedrock and metal ores they would be done with these measly blast doors in no time. The Reapers cleared the area in front of the doors and arranged cover for themselves as they fixed bayonets. Soon enough the drills had finished their work and a large rectangle had been cut from the blast doors. Held up only by their thickness and the artificial gravity and reapers soon saw to that. Charges were placed on the cut away section and weapons primed. There would be no thermal detonators for this raid, the bridge equipment was too valuable to damage or destroy however the Reapers would be let loose to kill as they saw fit. The charge went off and the cut away of the blast door was sent flying back into the bridge, followed closely by several Reapers. Weapons up and firing they stormed into the bridge to close to hand to hand combat with the enemy. The enemy were fierce combatants and the first wave of troops suffered greatly. they did, however, buy time for the second wave to close in and open fire on the brawl and put an end to the fighting with an efficient volley. It was finally over, the ship was theirs.*
*Over the next hour the crews of the Damnation and Disbelief transferred the wounded back the their medical centres and parts of their crew to the new destroyer. The Reapers were mostly withdrawn as well as the engineers attempted to restart everything and fix the damage dealt by the ion cannon fire earlier in the skirmish. It was simple enough, if a little time consuming, and soon the cruisers were departing from the destroyers hull and re-joining the fleet. With the engines and the hyperdrive top priority it was not long until the Bloodrage fleet and it's new vessel departed the system, leaving only ion trails as evidence they had even been there.*
