Re: Open Terrain

*Exitius was thinking heavily about his family when he noticed that the group of solders began to press forward and head in the direction of a canyon. He shook the thoughts from his head to focus on the job he had been assigned to do. With Turner to follow close behind him, he walked behind the group to provide support if they happened to be attacked from the rear.*

Re: Open Terrain

*The soldiers made their way towards the canyon. One could feel the darkside radiating off the area around them. It would seem the nightsisters were night kind to their planet. The forest was littered with droppings and rotting carcases. It was a good thing their were wearing helmets cause the smell must be dreadful.*
=General Sirgien=
:: Collins i have found the canyon follow this signal. ::

*Collins had just noticed that sirgien was missing, when he got the call from him. He motioned the soldiers to follow him as he pulled out his datapad and followed sirgien's signal. Then as they came out of the brush it instantly became sandy and dry, They would look out and see sirgien crouched by the edge of the canyon looking down into it.*

Re: Open Terrain

*Exitius walked with a look of disgust upon his face as the smell of the forest entered his nose. He coughed a few times then reached by his back to reach within his gear pack. He pulled out a small breathing mask and slipped it unto his face to block out the dreadful smell. With the smell no longer a factor, he followed Collins and kept a close eye on his surroundings.*

Re: Open Terrain

*Sirgien opened his mind so that he could feel for life forms around him. He could not feel the presence of any Rancor's, the Darkside in the area hid them well. The rancor's must have become more accustomed to the darkside here. So they would be more ferocious then normal. Collins approached Sirgien.*
=General Collins Jr.=
You find anything?

*Sirgien just shook his head, as he looked down at the canyon below.*

Re: Open Terrain

*The raspy sound of Exitius' breathing sounded from behind the mask he wore to keep the smell of rotting animals and droppings from reaching his nose. He stayed with the group and watched his soundings closely. The canyon before them was wide and dark, just like how the forest they were in was dark and clustered. As they approached closer to the canyon, Exitius walked behind Sirgien and looked deep into the canyon. It would have been a far drop, certainly leading to someone's death if they happened to fall in without a safety line. He stepped back and looked upon his group, his eyes scanning their faces. He sensed throughout the force that some of them were still worried about facing the beast they were sent to kill. Shaking his head sadly, Zalera moved away from the group and stood alone to think to himself for a while.*

Re: Open Terrain

*Collins and Sirgien looked into the canyon below, it was a pretty long fall. However there was a path to get down there. They could take it to the bottom.*
=General Collins Jr=
What do you think we should do then?

*Sirgien's eyes traced the trail, there was nothing in plain site that would stop them from getting to the bottom. He then traced the trail with his finger so that collins could see it.*
=General Sirgien=
We take the trail there, it will take us to the bottom of the canyon. It will be a long walk but we can manage. Then we could just have the shuttle pick us up at the bottom.

*Collins nodded then looked back at the men, and Exitius. He waved for all their attention. Sirgien stood up and began walking over towards the trail so that he could scout it out.*
=General Collins Jr=
Alright boys c'mon we are heading to the bottom of the canyon here.

Re: Open Terrain

*Exitius' mind was focused on the thoughts of his family while they lived back on Telos IV. He continued to wonder how they must have lived and dealt with him being gone. He still couldn't imagine how Damie must have looked after all this time away. Would she still recognize him after so long and would he even recognize her? His thought process was broken, however, when he heard Collins calling out for him. He shook his head, placing his left hand to his forehead, then turned and walked to Collins. Zalera walked with his hands shoved in his pockets and met up with Collins.*

"How much longer until we face the beast?"

=General Collins Jr.=
Well we will have to find the damned thing first.

*He said with a short chuckle then waving the soldiers down that path where Sirgien had already walked out ahead.*

Re: Open Terrain

*Exitius looked annoyed when he heard Collins speak. He didn't have any desire to just walk around this jungle infested planet for much longer than needed. Why couldn't they have just planned to hunt Jedi on a nicer planet instead of Dathomir? Questions like these entered his head while he sighed and walked back to the group of solders. His white armor was clearly seen in the darkness of the forest while his left shoulder remained covered by his red cape. The left side of his chest was covered in his leather like armor.*

Re: Open Terrain

*The soldiers were becoming agitated like Exitius which was the point in this mission. Collins' father wanted the best conditioned soldiers. The rest of their lives they would be going on missions like this. Sirgien came to a break in the path on the side of the canyon, he looked down and searched through the force trying to decide which way to go when suddenly he felt soemthing.. Something big... Down one of the path's he decided this would be the best way to go. He waited for the others to reach him. Moments later he could hear collins*
=General Collins Jr.=
Hey Sirge! You find something!?

*Sirgien looked up and around, collins was a fool they were in a canyon noise travels quick and easy through these parts. If he kept doing that he would get them all killed. So he spoke through the comlink to all the men.*
=General Sigrien=
:: Shut up collins. We don't want any unexpected guest's. We need to be subtle about our arrival on this rock. Follow me. ::

*Then sirgien made his way down the path he had decided to take before, and the soldiers followed.*

Re: Open Terrain

*Exitius walked away from the group, but kept up the pace with them. He knew he was there to protect them while they hunted, but he needed time to think to himself. He often thought how Stockwell and Hashmal were running things back on Mustafar. Had he made the right decision of handing over the authority of the planet to a Dual Leadership? Only time would tell if he had made a mistake or had poor judgment when it came to those two. His thoughts were shattered when Collins shouted out. Acting on instinct alone, Zalera grabbed his blaster pistol and swung around to aim it directly toward him. He almost fired but lowered the gun when he saw it was the General. He sighed and placed the gun back in its holster; swearing under his breath about how stupid some people can be.*

Re: Open Terrain

*The big force signature he had originally felt had now gone.. Probably because of Collins' stupidity, they continued walking and finally made it into the bottom of the canyon. Once at the bottom Sirgien looked around, this was where a lot of Rancor wandered. Somewhere that was crawling with darkside energy. Then suddenly Sirgien felt eyes on him, it wasn't the men. He looked around for whatever it was, but he did so cautiously so that he wouldn't scare it away. Then he saw it, the eyes of a Reptavian It was a scout. They hunt in packs, and soon this place would be swarming with them.*

Re: Open Terrain

*Exitius continued to keep his pace with the rest of the group; his mind constantly thinking about his past and what his future would bring. He walked along side General Sirgien and stopped when he stopped. He felt as if he was being watched by something else other than the men he was escorting. Zalera knew that Sirgien was also a Force Sensitive and assumed he had the same creepy feeling. His eyes instantly locked upon those of a Reptavian scout and his natural instinct overwhelmed him. He lunged forward toward the creature with the force and extended both of his blade from their hidden holsters. He stabbed the beast directly in it's throat and fell with the body down to the surface. The creature's dying body jerked and twisted while Exitius pulled his blades out of its neck. With blood dripping from his hands, the blade retracted while he reached behind his back for his pistol. Aiming it toward the middle of the creature's head, he shot 2 blasts deep into its skull. The repavian slowly died and stopped moving.*

Re: Open Terrain

*As the creature was stabbed in the neck it let out a very loud yell. Exitius took it out swiftly but the creature was able to call out to the others around. Either way this was inevitable there was nothing that any of them could have done to stop this. Perhaps it was better that Exitius had done it now instead of letting it call out to them when they were more vulnerable. They watched as Exitius took it out. Sirgien looked up into the sky he could feel the others approaching quickly. Collins was getting massive readings on his hud. Sirgien grabbed both of his sabers and ignited them as the Reptavian's closed in.*
<< Exitius, these men will not last long against these creatures, they have not been trained for this. It will be up to you me and collins. Use the force wisely we can scare these things off easily with it. They are not the smartest of predators they can be scared fairly easy. >>

Re: Open Terrain

*Exitius glanced down upon the dead creature and stared at it. Its thick and sticky blood dripped from the two holes he had placed into the creature's head. A chilling sensation shot from the base of his spine to his brain as he felt the presence of several of these creatures beginning to surround him and the party. Zalera then could detect the voice of Sirgien enter his mind and listened while he spoke.

Raven Tarkin Ordinii wrote:<< Exitius, these men will not last long against these creatures, they have not been trained for this. It will be up to you me and collins. *Exitius nodded to himself, knowing he had to protect the party that entrusted him with their lives. He outstretched both of his arms and held them out to shoulder's length. While the creature drew closer to him and the scouting party, Zalera focused himself and drew energy from the darkside of the planet. He stood with his hands open, fingers stretched from each other, and his palms facing toward the dark sky. His arms trembled with the force as he continued to draw the power into his body. He could feel the darkness of the planet drawing to him; adding to his physical and power through the force. Zalera then begins to close his hands and brings his arms close to his chest. The closer his arms came to his chest, he could feel and see physical force lightning sparking around his torso. He then stood there with his arms crossed his chest and Force Lightning crackling around his upper body. Once he felt that he had enough energy built up within his core, he pushed his arms back into their previous position and allowed the force to be released. With a shinning display of power, he used his arms as a conduct for the electrical energy to flow.*

*The force lightning traveled from his left arm over to his right. With the energy traveling across his upper body, this gave him a bit a glow and hopped it would allow the creatures to focus on him while the solders had time to prepare. With his middle and index fingers extend on both hands and the rest of his fingers balled up into his fists, he readied himself force the oncoming battle.*

A Rancor stood lifeless at the hands of it's own kind as it was beng eaten by a bit of a smaller Rancor. The Rancor ate the remains of it's preddeccesor as food and wagged his tail in gratefulness. There were piles of Bones everywhere. They were either Humanoid Bones, Alien Bones, Animal Bones or just really old Bones.

Selene falls through the air and land in a cload of dust near the Rancor with bones all around it. The dust settles and Selene looks into the Rancors eyes.*
