Re: Reception Area

*Aerandir followed the instructions given him by Ice Matango and found the Red Dawn Medical Complex after a reasonable amount of time. He had made special care to make sure Morgan didn't get lost in the city, especially since she had been attempting to walk and play that game Ice had given her at the same time. Fortunately, there were few issues and their trip had progressed without obstacle.

Finally, they reached the RDMC, a rather large and impressive building. Aerandir paused a moment to take it all in, nodding appreciatively, before heading in through the front entrance. Once inside, he immediately became aware of the cleanly, organized atmosphere, exhibiting the professionalism this building would most obviously possess, being a hospital and all.

Nodding again, he began to glance around for the receptionist area. Locating it, he nudged Morgan in the shoulder, then strode forward with her at his side. In his mind, he recalled the introduction he had been assembling and practicing along his way here and repeated it a few more times, with slight modifications until it sounded perfect. As he approached the receptionist, he put on a friendly smile, finally stopping near the desk as he spoke.*

Hello, I am Aerandir Calmcacil, Jedi of Felucia, and this is my daughter Morgan. We were sent here to lend assistance with anything the medical staff needed our help with; specifically something about chewed wires and possible mynocks?
*He tilted his head to the side and raised an eyebrow curiously, then, recalling another detail, gave it a voice.*
I was told to specifically ask for either Alisha or Jena Mercotti.
*There. That sounded pretty good. Concise, no superfluous details, just the facts. Hopefully that would suffice, hopefully there would be little issue. With any luck, Ice may have contacted the medical complex ahead of time to let them know that he and Morgan were coming. Certainly would help this along faster, but Aerandir was able to handle things on his own if this were not the case after all.*

Re: Reception Area

*Morgan had indeed been attempting to play the "Angry Tailrings" game on the datapad Ice had handed her as they traveled through the city and to their destination. It was a rather odd premise, that was for sure, but it was so addicting... She took breaks here and there to look up and glance around at their location before looking back down at the game, or stopping long enough to cross a traffic lane, but other than that, she was glued.

Lokay himself obviously wasn't used to cities. The noises and movements made him slightly skittish, tensing often as his head darted here and about, occasionally suddenly gripping Morgan even more tightly. So much movement, so many people, so many noises... He wasn't sure he liked this place. He was too used to the quieter base on Felucia, and the wilderness where he could fly about freely with only the sounds of nature about him.

Morgan noticed this at one point, but only attempted a sweet verbal reassurance before returning to the game. When they arrived at the medical complex, she didn't notice that her father had stopped and bumped into him, messing up her shot. She groaned at her mistake and looked up at her father apologetically before looking up and realizing they were at their destination. Grinning, she looked at Lokay long enough to speak excitedly to him.*

Look, Lokay! We're here! You might get to eat some mynocks soon!
*Lokay just peered at her, not really reacting other than sounding pleased to hear her voice and that it looked like they were going into a place away from all this noise. Morgan tittered and followed her father into the building, stopping long enough to glance around the entrance like her father did and following him to the receptionist area. The datapad was lowered to one side, Morgan having finally forgotten about the game. For the moment.

Morgan listened as her father spoke, taking a moment to smile and wave pleasantly as she was mentioned. Wait, was her father really just speaking in simple terms for once instead of rambling on in big words? Was she dreaming or was this really happening? Her eyebrows raised and she looked up at her father, half-impressed, half-skeptic. She almost wanted to say "Who are you and what have you done with my father?", but she only giggled to herself and waited for the receptionist's response.*

Re: Reception Area

The receptionist, who's name tag read "Betsy", looked up from the holoscreen she'd been staring at for the last half hour. Smiling, she looked Aerandir over then glanced to the little girl whom he'd introduced as Morgan. Giving the girl a warm smile, she offered her a cookie from the box she'd just opened but not before raising an eyebrow at Aerandir as if to ask permission. Meeting the man's gaze again, after the offer of cookies to the girl, she smiled again then spoke.

"Ahh yes...welcome to our fine facility, Knight Calmcacil. I received a message saying that you were on your way.

We've been having troubles with the wiring on the first and second floors so far. Silly mynocks are chewing little bas...erm..." She caught herself before she issued the expletive then continued with a slight chuckle. "...chewing little buggers.

Anyway....I'll page Dr. Mercotti and Dr. Shaewe for you and we'll see who shows up first." She grinned with a quick wink as she sent the page out over the hospitals intercom system. Meeting Aerandirs gaze again she motioned toward the large comfy chairs in the reception area.

"If you wish, you can wait over there. One of the doctors will be along shortly. They hardly ever make people wait too long."

Re: Reception Area

*When the woman seemed to ask Aerandir permission to offer Morgan the cookie, he only smiled and nodded. And to his relief, they had indeed been pre-informed about their arrival. His eyebrows raised at the near-curse, but his expression displayed that he wasn't offended. Grateful she had caught herself in front of Morgan, but otherwise indifferent to the near-slip.

So it sounded like it was indeed mynocks. That, and the cookie, ought to make Morgan incredibly happy. And perhaps Lokay, once he encountered his natural prey. Now all they had to do was wait for one or the other to show, and they could wait in what appeared to be a rather comfortable lounge area. Aerandir glanced in that direction, observing the area briefly, before looking back at Betsy with a smile.*

Thank you, very much.
*He bowed politely, then led Morgan towards one of the large chairs. He fell into it comfortably, resting his arms on the armrests. Just a short wait, then they could get to exterminating some mynocks, with a natural mynock hunter. Aerandir chuckled softly to himself; this would probably be pretty interesting.*

Re: Reception Area

*Morgan knew that coming here was gonna be exciting, especially since she'd get to observe Lokay attacking his natural prey, but a cookie?! That was even extra awesome! Beaming, Morgan took it with a small "thank you," then started to nibble upon it contentedly as she listened to the exchanged. Her eyes widened; not at the near-curse, but at the confirmation of mynocks.

Excellent.

After her father was informed that the doctor would be here soon, Morgan grinned again at the lady before following her father to the lounge chair. When he took a seat, she climbed up into his lap, nestling up against him, nibbling on her cookie and staring at the datapad. This wasn't a game she could play with one hand... but oh well, she had a cookie! It could wait. She was pretty excited to get to see the place and let Lokay go hunt, though...*

Re: Reception Area

Alisha heard the page from her office and rose from her chair, sending a message to Jena to let her know that she would see what Betsy needed, as she walked out of the door and headed down to the reception area. Walking up to the front desk a couple of minutes later, Ali spoke to Betsy, the receptionist, and glanced over to the man and the little girl in the waiting area that Betsy had pointed out. Nodding her head, she thanked Betsy and approached the man and girl with a warm smile and a bow.

"Aerandir and Morgan Calmcacil? I'm Dr. Alisha Mercotti, Ali to most. I hear you might have a solution to our wiring problems?"

She met their gazes with a friendly one of her own while she noted the little tailring that seemed to stick by Morgan.

Re: Reception Area

*Morgan had finished off her cookie at a leisurely pace, then, after wiping her hands together, picked up the datapad and made to resume her game. In a short amount of time, however, a woman approached them, introducing herself as "Alisha Mercotti." So, this was one of the people they were told to speak to? She looked very pretty, and seemed nice, too.

For Morgan, this meant there was no more time to play her game. But it also meant that it was now time to carry out the duty she had beset herself with the moment it had been mentioned by Ice at the water garden. So it was simultaneously a disappointing and exciting interruption, a strange mix of feelings that Morgan could barely comprehend. But it didn't matter; Morgan only beamed and sat up a little straighter, speaking excitedly.*

We do! It's Lokay, my tailring! He eats mynocks!
*She gestured towards the tiny dragon-like creature perched on her shoulder, who glanced up at Morgan then at Alisha as he was introduced. He blinked, then simply nuzzled against Morgan again. He had been contemplating curling up in Morgan's lap to continue his short-lived nap from earlier, but at this rate, he was starting to think that attempting to nap would be pretty much a fruitless endeavor, so he simply remained perched on her shoulder for now.*

Re: Reception Area

*As Morgan climbed into his lap, Aerandir smiled at her, putting an arm around her as she ate her cookie then continued to play her game. He observed it for a moment, attempting to discern the premise, which didn't take long. He chuckled then shook his head, before glancing aside and noticing a new figure: A rather attractive young woman. In fact, she was very attractive. So attractive, he found he couldn't take his eyes off her...*
:O
*Aerandir quickly looked aside and coughed, successfully hiding the expression as though it were no more than a pre-cough expression. That was rather uncharacteristic of him. Out of character, even. He was just fortunate Cassie wasn't here... that might have earned him a slap. Besides, just because this woman was highly attractive, that didn't mean that Aerandir was automatically attracted to her.

The woman was approaching them. Turned out, this was Alisha Mercotti, one of the two women Ice had suggested they request to see. And, of course, when asked if they had the solution to the problem, Morgan was the first to respond, saying that they did and that Lokay ate mynocks. Aerandir only chuckled, nodding both to confirm and in greeting.*

That is correct, if indeed mynocks are the source of the issue. It was actually her idea...
*He indicated Morgan with a nod of his head.*
... when Princess Ice Matango suggested that it was possibly mynocks that were the source of it all. Morgan was eager to help, so we came here immediately.
*Aerandir smiled, then briefly contemplated what happened a moment ago. He had seen some very attractive women before and never so much as gave them a second look. So what had caused that reaction to Alisha? It was almost as if some higher influence had taken over his character for a brief moment before Aerandir had been able to snap out of it and return to normal. He had to be careful with that.*

Re: Reception Area

Ali grinned, crouching down in front of Morgan when the girl excitedly exclaimed that her tailring, known as Lokay, ate mynocks.

"Well that's a good thing, chéri, because I think he may have more than a few to eat. I hope he's hungry." She gave Morgan a wink as she straightened up again to meet Aerandirs gaze when he started to speak. The way he'd first looked at her when she walked up had not escaped her notice either. She just raised an amused eyebrow and listened to his words while he explained that bringing Lokay to hunt the mynocks was Morgans idea and that Ice was the one who suggested it might be mynocks in the first place. By the time he'd finished speaking, he seemed to have composed himself a bit with a thoughtful smile.

Chuckling softly, Ali folded her arms over her chest and tilted her head slightly.

"We've thought that it's mynocks because the chewing damage is fairly localized to just certain areas. Though I'll let you inspect the areas to see what you think....but they seem to like the wiring in the walls of the staff offices, the reception area, the hallways by Examination rooms 11 - 20....so far anyway. So any of the little critters that Lokay can get rid of would be greatly appreciated."

Smiling, she reached into the pocket of her lab coat and brought out a data pad. After bringing up a floor map of the RDMC that had the areas marked on it, she held out the datapad to Aerandir.

"We can start right here, whenever you're ready." She motioned around the reception/waiting area with her hand. "And of course we don't have to start today if you have something else planned. I don't want to interfere in whatever else you may be doing while you're on Honoghr."

Folding her arms again, she smiled warmly to both of them.

*With the normal traffic of sentient beings waiting to be assisted in the waiting area. Bonmi-Ki-Skeel enters the reception area. He stands 6'8" at a muscular 250 lbs and walks with confidence towards the receptionist sitting at her desk. He leans in with a half-smile and speaks with a soft-hearted friendly tone.*

*Even though Bonmi was a Cerean he was an excellent Driod technician. Even though the Cerean culture frowned upon technology and it's pollution. Bonmi and his family were known for their business in Tecave exports and Droid services. The reason Bonmi was recommended to the RDMC. However Bonmi recently lost his brother Mundi and was doing a little soul searching. Fixing Droids and cleaning up around a Hospital seemed like the perfect thing for Bonmi to do to get his mind off the loss of his Brother and the blame of his non-birth mother. Even being a Jedi knight who studied with the Baran Do and mastered their techniques, couldn't shake some of his guilt. Working at a hospital would be the best way to help with that. As he is about to talk to the receptionist he hides his true power-level to the point where someone would only figure out he was at least Force-sensitive.*

"Excuse me....*Bonmi looks at her name tag.*Betsy. I'm Bonmi-Ki-Skeel and I'm here to meet with Dr.Mercotti. I'm the new Droid technician and custodial engineer that was hired recently."

Re: Reception Area

*Alisha hoped Lokay was hungry? Uh oh... Morgan grimaced as she looked down at the tailring, who had recently had that bacon plus a bit of bread. Well... he could at least kill them, right? And they didn't have to be all eaten at once, did they? This could still work... Wait, in the walls? So how was Lokay supposed to hunt them then? Morgan furrowed her brows and tilted her head to the side curiously. She glanced at the datapad that had been handed to her father, then up at Alisha again.*
How's Lokay s'posed to get them if they're in the walls?
*She couldn't quite grasp this notion, although suddenly the silly mental image of Lokay squeezed in-between two walls and slowly climbing about trying to find mynocks entered Morgan's head, one that was admittedly kind of funny. One she almost laughed aloud at, but managed to hold it in, although a brief grin flashed over her countenance.*

Re: Reception Area

Ali grinned when Morgan asked how Lokay was suppose to get the mynocks if they were in the walls. Crouching down to eye level with the girl again, she chuckled lightly.

"That's a good question, chérie, and one that I can answer. You see the panel over there close to the floor?" She inquired with a warm smile while motioning toward the nearby access panel a few inches above the floor. "Well, you see....that panel opens and that will allow Lokay to get in between the walls and the floors. There's about ten to twelve inches of space between the walls, and around 16 inches between the floors....in which I'm sure Lokay can fit and move around enough to get those pesky mynocks. What do you think, chérie?"

She smiled again, tilting her head slightly and raising an eyebrow while she let Morgan think over the situation....

Re: Reception Area

*Morgan listened, waiting for the answer. Her eyes followed Alisha's gesture towards the indicated panel on the wall, listening as the doctor explained that it opened up so that Lokay would get in. Morgan still thought it was a strange idea, especially because she didn't imagine there was much space inside the walls, but to her surprise, Alisha stated there was about ten-to-twelve inches of space within, plenty for Lokay to move around comfortably within. He just wouldn't be able to really use his wings.

And then Alisha asked what Morgan thought. What did she think? She thought she wanted to know what "chéri" meant. But other than that, well, I guess she could always try it, and if Lokay didn't want to do it, well, so much for that plan; of course they could try some other option if it didn't work out, but they could always just start with this one. She thought about it for a moment, then started to nod as she scooted forward out of her father's lap.*

We'll see what Lokay thinks. C'mon, Lokay!
*Lokay just perked his head up as he clung to Morgan's shoulder, wondering what it was she wanted him to "come on" for, especially since he wasn't going anywhere except where she was going, unless he decided to jump off and go his own direction. He just peered at her then around at the immediate area as Morgan walked towards the wall— Woah, woah, woah. What was that scent he was picking up minor traces of?

More importantly, why was he so curious about it?

Lokay began to sniff heavily at the air, trying to pick up on what this was and why it was so interesting. He started to get restless, started to shuffle his claws. Morgan was opening some panel in the wall and crouching down in front of it. Lokay wasn't too concerned about tha— THE SCENT WAS COMING FROM INSIDE THE OPENING. Lokay extended his neck and poked his snout into the opening, sniffing more greatly now. Yes... this was the source.*

You smell 'em, don't you, Lokay?
*Lokay hardly registered Morgan's words, nor her grin. It was dark, but he could see in the dark well enough. Whatever this smell was, it was setting off his instincts, and he wanted to find out what it was coming from. And why he had a sudden hunger and an urge to devour whatever it was. It was definitely some kind of animal... Guess he would find out soon enough, as he climbed into the hole and began to set off in search of his prey...*
Don't worry, Doctor Alisha, Lokay's gonna get 'em all!
*The proclamation from Morgan was preceded by a giggle as she grinned up at the woman, then peered back into the opening, watching as Lokay crawled off. She was a bit worried, hoping he wouldn't get lost or stuck in the walls somewhere, but he would probably be fine. Hopefully. She kind of wished she could watch Lokay hunt, instead of sitting outside with no way of seeing his movements, but at least Lokay was about to have some fun.*

Lokay was showing more than a little enthusiasm as he poked his head into the opening in the wall and sniffed some more. He seemed to be ignoring everything and everyone else while he sniffed. Whatever lurked between the walls had caught his full attention and the little tailring was apparently on a mission now as he climbed into the opening and disappeared for the time being. Ali grinned when Morgan spoke excitedly, again.

She turned to speak to Aerandir when her comlink beeped. Looking down, she saw a message from the front desk informing her of a new employee to the RDMC had just arrived. Meeting Aerandirs gaze, she spoke.

"If you'll excuse me, Aerandir and Morgan. There's a new employee I need to talk to. I'll be back as soon as possible. *Standing around for what felt like eight days staring at Betsy and waiting for Dr. Mercotti, Bonmi waits for her to arrive. He had been told to meet here for another reason. Even though he had lost his brother not too long ago, Bonmi had recently been selected for special duties. Despite losing Mundi, Bonmi has never failed a mission. It seems that a certain group had taken notice of this fact. Bonmi was placed here because he had high level Droid technician credentials as well as maintenance skills. Unknown to most Bonmi had another job while he worked as a custodial engineer. *

*When Dr.Mercotti rounds the corner Bonmi meets her gaze with his periwinkle eyes. Once she speaks to him he speaks back in a deep baritone voice like that of a gentle giant.*

"Dr. Mercotti, it's truly nice to meet you as well. I've heard so much about you, yet no one ever told me you were.....*hitting on the boss was probably not a smart thing to do on the first day so he cuts himself off.*forgive me, I was a little starstruck. Re: Reception Area

Ali raised an amused eyebrow at the Cereans reaction to her presence. It was much like Aerandirs had been. She wondered what all the fuss was about. She never used her looks to gain an advantage and never really thought about them unless she was with Ares....but that was an entirely different story for another time. Did she remind them of someone? Tucking that thought into the back of her mind, she smiled warmly .

"Starstruck? That's a new one, I must admit." She chuckled lightly before continuing.

"It's good to have you on board. I've read your file and am impressed with your work on droids. We need someone to keep the regular and med droids in shape."

She indicated a passing med droid that looked like it had seen better days....when in fact just a few months ago, before the IF attack, the droid had been brand new. Having been dug out of the rubble of the old RDMC, the droid had been patched up and cleaned enough to perform the simplest medical procedures, but not much else. There were a few others in the same shape, or worse, and needed complete overhauls to make them able to perform the duties they were meant to perform, not the much less menial tasks they were now regulated to doing....

"Somebody sure did a number on you."

*This was aimed at both doing the damage and not putting a lot of effort into repairing just getting back to being functional.*

*Bonmi taps on the droids head then puts his ear there.*

"Sounds like your motovator is just about shot. Along with your processor speed."

*Bonmi then spins the droid around by hand looking at the chassis.*

"And your chassis is one good swift kick away from falling apart completely. Looks like I have my work cut out for me. Are the rest of the droids in this bad of shape?
Bonmi states this question with a perplexed look on his face.

*Sensors in the walls that would let them monitor Lokay? Good! Then Lokay would be fine after all and Morgan wouldn't have to worry about him getting stuck. She smiled in relief, peeking back at the panel; those must have been how they had known that there were mynocks within the walls as well. So now it was up to Lokay; Alisha needed to speak with someone else, it seemed, so Morgan only nodded, said "Okay!" then perched herself upon the ground next to the panel, sitting there, peering into it, waiting, as though Lokay would finish his hunt then pop back out of the panel any time.*

*Lokay was following his nose at this point. He could see, but not too far in. Something was in here and it was triggering all of his primary instincts, and he just wanted to know two things: What it was, and if it was tasty. Because despite having just eaten, he was suddenly hungry. And while he had never smelled this scent before, he could already tell it was going to be quite delicious, and rather satisfying...

He had just climbed up the height of the wall and peeked over the edge in the space between floors when he heard it; chitters and other gnawing sounds. It was close. Lokay tensed, then immediately scurried over the top and scampered off, thankful for the extra bit of breathing room in this area. He could suddenly make out the creature's figure; it was slightly larger than he was, but it was winged, some kind of bat-like creature. Now he knew what they looked like.

With a small roar, Lokay charged. The creature looked up and squealed, baring its teeth and trying to look threatening. Lokay ignored it, pouncing forward onto the creature's back and digging his maw into its neck, trying to silence it. The creature squirmed and squealed, noises that soon became gargling, before it finally twitched and lay still, dead. Lokay growled in triumph as he stood atop his fallen prey, then lowered his head again, using his claws to help him tear into the carcass as he began to partake of its flesh.

Now this was an interesting flavor. He'd never really hunted for himself apart from bugs before, as Morgan had always been the one to feed him. That didn't make the food he had eaten before—particularly bacon—any less good, but there was a certain satisfaction to having hunted down this creature himself. And whatever it was, it tasted pretty good too. Maybe even better than bacon! ... no, that was blasphemy. But he certainly hoped there were more of these...*

*As Morgan sat by the panel and listened, she could only make out very faint scratching sounds, probably Lokay climbing about. The sounds were getting softer and softer, until at last she heard it: Lokay unleashing one of those small predatory roars of his. And then something else squealing. Morgan gasped and leaned closer, listening intently as the squealing was heard again, then suddenly stopped. Then Lokay growled in triumph. He found one! Morgan grinned excitedly, and she wished she could have seen it happen up close, but at least now progress was being made.*

Re: Reception Area

*Aerandir had watched and listened in mostly silence as Alisha had explained the mynock infestation and handed him a datapad showing the locations of each area where the wires had been chewed. First a datapad from Ice and now one from Alisha... For a moment he was tempted to start a new game: Souvenir Datapad Collecting. But no, he would be returning these all as soon as possible.

Morgan seemed to be able to handle all the questions, and Alisha explained them in kind. Aerandir smiled, proud that Morgan could handle this all by herself, and continued to smile as Lokay seemed to catch a whiff of the mynocks and hurried off into the panel to go hunt after them. Aerandir then nodded to Alisha as she announced she had to take care of a "new employee," and so he remained seated, watching and waiting for the hunt to unfold.

It seemed to at one point; noises heard from within sounded like there was a struggle going on, one that Lokay must have won, for Morgan's reaction was only to grin. Aerandir chuckled to himself; she really loved that tailring and was so supportive of him. And it was probably a good thing to let the little guy get more into his natural element instead of completely domesticating him, and from the sound of things, he was succeeding already. This would be interesting...*

Re: Reception Area

Folding her arms across her chest, she watched, listening, as Bonmi looked over the droid commented on it's status.

"A few of the droids, around twenty or so, were damaged or destroyed when the IF attacked a few months ago. We salvaged what we could, but I have to admit that I am no droid specialist so a few members of the construction crew did what they could to piece some of them together again until I could find someone who could fix them properly."

She chewed on her lower lip while she eyed the droid carefully then looked to Bonmi again.

"If you can fix them up like they should be, it would be greatly appreciated and you'd be paid well for it. There's a parts shop in Nystao for any items you may need....or if you need to order anything offworld, just let me know and I'll get you the credits to do it with." She smiled, happy that someone would finally be able to get the droids into shape after all these months....
