Residential Complex

Verula City was one of the primary settlements of automated cloning facilities on Kamino, boasting the necessary technology and staff to fashion large orders in a relatively short amount of time. The city consisted of several landing pads, a main cloning structure, and accommodations for the city's population of nearly 1,200.

Re: Residential Complex

*With the destruction of the Administrative tower some weeks back, the task at hand was to redirect the orbital defenses stationed at various towers across the external structure of Verula. Whatever attack Lord Archais suspected, he'd delegated the task of seeing to what repairs were necessary to attain control of the stationary guns.

He'd handed that authority to his Hand, Adur, who now stood in one of the computer clusters located throughout the apartment building, doling out orders to the various techs assembled.*

"Crypt Team Phi, you are to convert this cluster to a defense network. We do not know precisely how the city's defenses were integrated into the administration's computer datanet, and your task is to identity and circumvent whatever liberties were taken. The orbital defenses will be critical to our defense of the station."

*The Crypt chief nodded, inquiring,* "Yes sir. It might be easier to simply install whatever controls we need here. Do you have the authority to grant us that?"

*Adur pondered a moment. Were he establishing a base of operations, he wouldn't cluster his computer network in a single, central location. It was far better to have a distributed network, perhaps even a wireless server to defend against enemy incursions. Still, time was of the essence, and he nodded in return.*

"I do, and the request is granted. Whatever resources you require from other teams, I authorize you to commandeer. The city's defenses are a priority second only to the evacuation of the clone army, and time is critical. Do you understand what is required of your team?"

"Yes sir. We should have our network up and running in a few hours, and the defenses will be seen to upon that. I can't say what the time frame of their operation is because we simply don't know exactly how they interfaced with the administrative tower's commands, but we'll start from the administrative computer here on the residential complex and see where that takes us. We should be able to figure it out and devise a plan by the day's end. Sir."

"Good. Keep me appraised of your progress."

Re: Residential Complex

Mortis’ pilot stood outside the Jedi’s holding cells, firmly grasping his newly earned blaster in hands, perhaps a bit too tightly, as he endeavored with difficulty to remain with the rest of the security personnel, rather than begin pacing up and down the hallway. He rarely did very well with standing still when he was anxious.
He was present when there was talk about the Jedi coming to Kamino, and he knew that he would also be considered an accomplice to the Sith this time, as opposed to his previously unfortunate position on Zayrot Station, when he played the role of pilot to one of the VIPs, and then a hostage for Darth Mortis to get away with.
The memory caused the pilot to subconsciously reach down and feel the metal brace on his right thigh where Mortis’ lightsaber blade had burned straight through; possibly the most agonizing moments of his life.
And it was that moment which had changed his life, for better or for worse.
He had to admit that being Darth Mortis’ personal pilot came with many privileges, including having authority over the security forces. This became somewhat of a double-edged vibroblade for the pilot, however, whom had little knowledge of being in charge of anything other than a starship’s controls. Still, he tried to play the part as competently as he could, with few incidents worth noting, and he learned most things as he went along.
It was only during the quiet moments, outside the presence of the Sith , when he began to think about the life he been literally dragged away from; mainly his beautiful wife on Uvena III.
He remembered her smiling face; her long, sandy hair; her modestly attractive—oh who am I kidding? Let’s just say she was smokin’ hott.
How he longed to see her again; to hold her; to be intimate with her.
He feared that he may never get the chance, so long as he was still caught up in the Siths’ preparation for dominance over the universe. He silently prayed every night that one day he would be able to go back home.
All in all, in spite of his homesickness, being a pawn in the Sith’s plans wasn’t an unreasonable way to live. I wasn’t the most glorious, nor was it the most unpleasant. If he could stay out of the way and do what was asked of him, life was definitely more than tolerable.
He just had to get over the minor detail that he was on the bad guys’ side.
Listening to the idle banter of a very bored security outfit, he and the group a dozen other men guarded the Jedi outside their holding cells. Every six hours the guard would shift, and another dozen troops would relieve the previous lot; but the pilot remained, blaster held tightly in hand, until Mortis came back.

Re: Residential Complex

Alarms blared throughout the facility, and several radios relayed orders for evacuation.
Something was wrong, and while all the details weren't ultimately revealed, it could be surmised that the only thing that could get everyone in such a fuss right now would be an attack on the city.

"It's got to be the Jedi," suggested one of the armed guards in the residential complex, keeping watch over the captive Jedi along with four other security personnel, and Darth Mortis' personal pilot. "We've gotta get out of here!"
"And leave the prisoners?" The Pilot protested. He knew for certain that abandoning the captive Jedi would not sit well with Mortis. Not that he really wanted to stick around and wait for the Jedi to come get their friends, either. But he feared the Sith far more than he did any Jedi.
"We'll take them with us then," another guard chimed in, "that way we can get out of here, and we'll use the Jedi as a way out of getting attacked by Jedi forces. It's the perfect plan!"
The pilot had to admit that he saw no flaw in the idea, and so he raised his new blaster toward the door behind which the Jedi were being held. "Alright, lets get this door open. Everyone needs to keep their weapons on the Jedi at all times; they were sedated a while ago, and they could wake up at any moment."
Every man gave his own version of an 'affirmative' and formed up on the door. The pilot tossed the key to the door to the guard nearest the lock, who opened the door. One by one all six men filed into the room, their weapons trained on the Jedi there-in.
(OOC: Assuming they're still knocked out) The Jedi's arms were slung over the shoulders of two men - one on either side of the unconscious prisoners, which left four of the guards occupied with transporting the Jedi, while the pilot and one other guard would proceed with their weapons to provide cover if need be.
With this seemingly-brilliant plan in motion, the men began to move toward the shuttles.
