Salis D'aar

Re: Salis D'aar

*Jarvis nodded, and initiated the reversal...suddenly, Arcturus went slack, closed his mouth, and stopped jerking side to side...*
:: Restoration at.....10 %..... ::
*Jarvis cocked his head to the side*
:: It appears to be working. ::

Re: Salis D'aar

*She let out a breath of relief when Arcturus calmed. Jarvis's words were only a reassurance. Ten percent. It wasn't much, but it was working. Or so it appeared. Hekate searched for how to phrase the question that was in her mind from how he had phrased his last statement.*

You can't be sure?

Re: Salis D'aar

*It had been a long long while...after the machine had reached a hundred percent, Arcturus had been pulled from the bed, and had been layed out across the upper stories single bed. Jarvis had relayed his status time and time again, but always, always, it was the same.*

:: Update, session 78. Status: on standby. Patient exhibits no higher faculties...comatose state continues. ::

*Comatose state. Thats how Jarvis described it. Currently, Arcturus was in a severe coma. Jarvis did ascertain however, that his mental decay had ceased...Arcturus would indeed live...for a great many centuries Jarvis estimated. His mental state, as far as processing...his personality...his force use...that was something else...*

:: It seems there is no change in his condition... ::

Re: Salis D'aar

*Hekate stood still for the moment as Jarvis made his update, thought there really wasn't an update, Arcturus was still the same. She felt extreme guilt as to what she had done and how it had resulted. He would live, yes, but he might not be the same as he was before. She didn't know if this was what Arcturus had wanted, and it probably wasn't. She knew she wouldn't want to be stuck in a comatose state. She would certainly rather be dead.

Once Jarvis was finished his update, Hekate went back to pacing the lower floor, her head bent, the guilt making her throat close up. She still wondered if she had made the right decision, or if she had let her feelings for him get in the way. Every now and then she would pause, look up at Arcturus lying still in the bed, before she would continue pacing, wondering what she had done.*

Re: Salis D'aar

*arriving in Salis D'aar Taran parks his speeder and begins asking around for the whereabouts of his father's body, after about half a day of searching and chasing after leads he finally finds himself inside a graveyard in the city center, oddly enough his father had no great funeral, he had no magnificent crypt or mausoleum, he was buried in an unmarked grave, the only way Taran was able to find the remains of his father Wanderer was to ask about his father's force pike, apparently not many people carried such a weapon around the city so they had shown him the only one they knew of, and here it was right next to an unmarked grave, checking the craftsmaship and a secret hidden in the hilt Taran could only conclude that this was his father's grave

solemnly he scratches in the epitaph:

Here lies Wanderer, former ruler of Bakura, Imperial Royal Guard, internationalist and well known galactic traveller, rest in piece

seeing that his work is done Taran withdraws the force pike and retracts the blade that was holding it in the ground then clips it to his belt and returns to his speeder heading back to the shuttle*

*Discussion continues for several weeks. Some locals express fear that construction will be outsourced to Yagai labor and that Bakura will see no profits from the construction of Bakuran ships.*

Re: Salis D'aar

*A proposal is made by the Imperial delegation. Construction of all Bakuran ships would occur on Bakura itself, by Bakuran shipbuilders. After construction Bakuran crews would transport completed ships to Yaga Minor for final sale or commissioning. While the local delegates asked for time in considering the proposal, such an agreement would certainly guarantee an economic boom for the locals. The Bakuran representatives however hoped to maintain the right to sell ships directly from Bakura for those who came looking.*

Re: Salis D'aar

*Discussion continues on, focused mostly on where Bakuran ships would be sold, who set prices, and where materials would be obtained. The Imperial Representatives wanted all bakuran ships to be sold from Yaga Minor, with sale prices set by the nationalized industry. Needless to say the locals did not find this agreeable.*

Re: Salis D'aar

*At long last an accord is reached between the Imperial negotiators and local delegates. Prices would be set by the local ship builders and Bakuran ships could be sold from Bakura itself. If ships were ordered as part of a fleet at Yaga Minor the ships would be flown to the Yaga Minor Docks by a civilian Bakuran crew.*

*Bakura is well on its way to becoming a regional hub. Immigration rates skyrocket to keep up with the constant demand of jobs, likewise skyrocketing the rates of production.*

Re: Salis D'aar

*At on of the Salis D'aar refueling stations things were business as usual as the workers scurried about refueling costumers as they flew their speeders in. Among those workers was Manois Coth a Devaronian who had immigrated to Bakura some 3 years ago. He had come to Bakura to start a business however the humans on this planet were even less trust worthy of Devaronians than anywhere else Manios had been and so he had found himself working a dead end job for minimum wage in an attempt to raise up enough money to get himself off Bakura.*

Shift Manager
"Hey! Manios come on! quick day dreaming and get back to work! those landspeeders are backing up out there!"

Manios
"Yes sir! Im on it!"

*Manios grumbled to himself as he went to refuel the next speeder. However as he went to refuel he happened to notice a flaming ball coming down from orbit. Meteor showers were not un common on Bakura however this was to large and moving to slow to be a meteor. The Ball of flame made everyone in the fueling station pause and glance up.*

Customer
"Must be a ship that was damaged or something.....hey devil man could you hurry it up?"

*Manios simply smiled and nodded. Although inside he was seething with anger. He had to get off this rock before we killed someone.*

*An HNN headline blares from outdoor holoscreens.*

:: Breaking news! Derelict CIS Lucrehulk-class battleship crashes in Telaan Valley. Nobody hurt. Experts deem ship "Treasure trove of information". ::

*Passersby, curious about the source of last night's spectacular meteor shower, pulled out their datapads and accessed the full HNN broadcast, including the ship's log. Unknowingly, they also downloaded the ATLAS virus, which was spreading very rapidly through the data networks.*

*They down there drinks and move out of the bar paying on the way out. The plan now was goverment building and trying to find them and as normal nobody wants to help.*

*Manios glanced up as the holo news played the report about the crashed ship but he didnt think anything of it. All he cared about was collecting his money at the end of the day. Maybe then he could finally get off this rock.*

*Judgment Day -1*

*That Night Manios made his way back to his apartment in the slums of Salis D'aar. Once home he checked his credit account and to his satisfaction all he needed was one more day of work and he would be able to pay for passage back to his home on Davoron. With luck by this time day after tomorrow he would be settling in on some transport ship on his way home. Clinging to this last happy thought Manios settled into bed and fell asleep dreaming of home. Just one more day........*
