Re: Sand People Enclave

*Nodding, Xarl listened courteously as Nartaga explained the tactics of the other clans. His eye sacs deflated slightly as he came to understand that an unusual change in tactics might not be as effective as he had hoped it would.* *It seemed that they would have to rely more on the heretical contraption than he had wished for. The question that troubled him was whether or not he was in violation of the Yun'o's doctrine merely by association. Such a question was better addressed by a priest, of which he currently had no access to. That meant he would have to make up his own mind on the subject. Given the options and the oath he had sworn, he relented from his prejudices and opted to make right any slight against the Slayer by reaping many enemy skulls for his chosen deity.* *He bowed his head respectively.*

"You of course know best." *His lips curved upwards unnaturally, mimicking the human facial expression known as a smile. An uncommon display for a Yuuzhan Vong warrior.* "It would seem the gods truly wish to test the might and constitution of your people, head councillor. Success will be no small feat."

*Still, there was an eagerness in his tone that could not be belied.* *He further expressed himself by loudly cracking his knuckles and then clenching his fists.*

Katarina Winters wrote:*Katarina couldn't help but overhear from her changing quarters about the up coming battle that seemed to be brewing for these Tusken Raiders. She might not like them, but they did give her clothes, shelter, and understanding. She dressed quickly, eager to get out of her slave rags. The sandy colored robes were not flattering, but they were comfortable and flexible, perfect for a person such as Katarina who favored her hands over her blaster. She walked out of the changing room and looked at the duo, unsure if she should be asking this next question, she proceeded with caution*

I'm sorry to have eavesdropped Elder but I can't help notice that your camp seems to be at war with what I assume to be rival factions on this planet. I might not be one with a blaster but my martial arts skills and blade tactics are un-matched at the Echani National Academy. I'd be happy to repay your hospitality if you would let me

*The Elder bowed his head to Katarina, whom had reappeared after changing into the robes the Elder had provided. He seemed to distance himself mentally from present company for a few minutes, as if somewhere else entirely. He suddenly snapped back and gestured with a free hand to the outside of the ship. The Elder seemed to be speaking down to Katarina, as if she was an Uli-ah.*

=Elder=
This is no mere camp, Child. This is the Enclave of the R'Crurak clan! I will forgive this mistake to ignorance of our people, both of us. You do not yet know much about the R'Crurak, because we have not had time yet to teach you of us. The coming battle will hopefully not be fought in close combat; we cannot risk the causalities of those tactics. I would not ask you to endanger your life any more than you have had to when you more than likely escaped from your former masters.

*The Elder looked to Anven, who had grown quiet.*

=Elder=
Anven. Tell me, what is it your ship will be doing in the next few hours?

*The way the Elder spoke implied that Anven's answer could change the course of this war.*

Enam Revlis wrote:*Enam had paid enough attention to Nartaga to be able to respond, though the ill-intended comment he wanted to make on the Tuskens and their culture had been stifled at the thought of peace, just as Nartaga uttered the very word. His movements never slowed, though his mind had started to wander slightly from the work he was doing, over to the event before meeting the head of the clan. The Elder's words seemed to be uttered yet again in his ears, mentioning gaining an ally in taking back the planet. This of course would only lead to more war, prompting the Sith's next response in the same tone as he sported since starting the repair work.*

"We'll see." *Moved out of the way to allow a Tusken at the last of the exposed panels.* "Alright," *Moves to the controls to ready the start up, looking back to instruct the team now at there stations.* "remember! Any sounds or lack of sound, bring me to it!" *Starts activating and deactivating the shuttle in even and slow intervals.*

*Enam rushed to the Tusken's side, prying into the inner housing and looking to where the Tusken pointed the random sounds came from. He relieved the Tusken from his post, asking him to stand back a bit, then smoothly tugging loose some wires away from the problem circuit.*

"Sort of. From the looks of it, this damned thing's been shorted out, and this controls a decent amount." *Once freed from the housing, Enam eyed the circuit from every angle, then looks into the housing to size up what he needed.* "I'll need to either ground the wiring and reroute the power away from this system, or if there is an identical circuit somewhere in camp I could just replace it." *Looks to the team and sent them off to find a circuit to replace it.* "I doubt there is one, so I'll just get started and see what I need to do to compensate for the problem."

*Once finished his sentence, he looked back and realized Nartaga had already left the shuttle to talk to Xarl. After peeping his head out to see the two looking over the ground as though making a strategy, Enam went back to work on the shuttle, grounding himself and prying the wires out to start making sense of the circuit needed to be made to bring the thrust controls back to being fully operational. As he does this, his mind wonders over his role in this war and it's aftermath.*

*Nartaga shrugged in frustration at the current situation. He did not like the thought of a close combat situation if they could not get the ship in working order. He walked halfway up the ramp of the ship so he could be heard by Enam, but would not leave the company of Xarl.*

=Nartaga=
If it is not able to fly within the next few hours, we will be forced to move out without the ship. We will simply have to have faith in the remaining Warriors we have.

Nem Yin wrote:*Nodding, Xarl listened courteously as Nartaga explained the tactics of the other clans. *Nartaga then turned to Xarl and gave the Yuuzhan Vong warrior the same shrug of frustration that he had exhibited when speaking to Enam about the ship. His frustration came off in waves. His aura of strength faltered for a moment, but as he spoke he regained his resolve, though it was tainted by the thought of the death that might ensue.*

=Nartaga=
I will not lie and agree with you that I know best, Xarl. I simply added some of my own thoughts to your plan. You are more experienced in military matters than I am, and I admit it openly...I just do not wish to sacrifice so many Banthas when we can divert troops to the high ground of the canyon walls and prevent more casualties.

*Nartaga took a moment to look up into the ship, at the Tuskens moving around inside trying to follow what Enam was doing, and following his orders.*

=Nartaga=
If you would not take this the wrong way, Xarl...I wonder why Tuskens have not been able to have a successful existence until now, and it is being threatened by our own kind out of jealousy. If it were not for the old feuds and disarray of our species...we would rule the Galaxy, or at the very least a part of it....It makes me ask if there is not a better way than peace....perhaps violence is the only way to achieve goals....

Re: Sand People Enclave

*Katarina was a bit offended by the tone of the Tusken at first but then remembered he was an Elder, a leader among his people, and even though she had anger for the Tusken people, these had shown her care and compassion for being an outsider who had a sharp tongue. She owed it to him to show him respect.*

With all due respect to your position Elder, I have had all power stripped from me by the Hutts. Cast into a life where even the time I go to the bathroom is dictated. Now, after years in their vile grips, I have choices again. I ask you do not limit those choices from me. I simply said that I was trained in martial arts from an early age. I'm capable of using a blaster rifle just as well, not to mention most of my training was spent dodging pole weapons and sparring against my fellow students. I can handle myself in combat sir.

*Katarina stayed silent while the Elder spoke with Anven and then chimed back in.*

Before I got captured by pirates I ran security for a Transport company. Part of my job was fending off pirate ships and rouge fighter craft. Not saying I'm the best shot, but if you need a gunner for the ship Anven I can contribute there as well.

*Katarina was eager to help, eager to forget her past and put the hurt on anyone who threatened to send her back.*

*Being prone to rage as he was, the subaltern attempted to listen with understanding to the head councilors thoughts on Tusken galactic domination, but ultimately found nothing to take offense from.* *If anything he admired the R'Crurak's warrior spirit even more. While it was clear from the start that Nartaga did not lack for courage, his ambitions had been a point of question. Now they were presented openly and were not found wanting.* *A toothy grin split his features further and he barked out in a harsh but clearly amused tone.*

"Ha! Your boldness does your people credit, Nartaga."

*This was the first time he actually used the head councilors name as opposed to his title.*

"Some might claim it to be gall, but I find only respectable ambition in your words. However, you will need more than a clan's worth of banthas and the strength of your gaderffiis to see such a goal accomplished. Should we survive this day, and should I manage to reconnect with my people, I do believe we will be of further use to one another. But that is a matter for later. Let's deal with the enemy at hand before you go looking for others. How soon do we set out? Shem-Kreatu has not yet gifted the sands of your world with its deserving share of infidel blood."

*As though comprehending the words of its master, the amphistaff in Xarl's hands flexed the scaled hood extending from its neck and snapped its fanged maw in barely contained predatory eagerness. The warrior rested the palm of his hand upon its head, quelling the serpent with a snake charmer's ease.*

Re: Sand People Enclave

*Anven listened to Katarina as she went on how she wanted to help and the possible ways she could help. He had to admit he wanted to help out Katarina but it wasn't his decision to make if she fought in the war or not. Then when she turned to him and offered to be a gunner on his ship he was surprised for a moment. He hadn't even yet told the Elder where his ship was going to be during the war and already she wanted to help with his ship. Sure he was willing to bring his ship into the battle since he heard the Elder's tone and he knew they were out numbered but Tusken clans lacked ships. That was the advantage the R'Crurak clan had, they had ships and so if needed they could cause serious damage in a time of war.

Now Anven was looking between Katarina and the Elder as he kinda felt caught in between the two. From how he heard it the Elder didn't want to endanger Katarina's life in their war. Katarina still wanted to help in any way she could and now it was on him if he would let be a gunner on his ship. After a few minutes Anven sighed as he finally made up his mind on what he was going to do.*

*First Anven looked to the Elder to answer his question about the ship.* I had no plans to take my ship anywhere so if you need it I will gladly use it during the war. *He then looked to Katarina to answer her.* Katarina if you are so determined to help in this fight then you are more then welcome to be a gunner on my ship.

Re: Sand People Enclave

*After a long while, Enam connected the last of the wires to where systems needed to be rerouted, and managing to cram a similar circuit into the board the Tuskens managed to find while in their dash for parts, to carry some functionality of that system without short circuiting and igniting. The ship was in in flying capacity, though space travel was not in the cards for this vessel. He was satisfied with the work, and sat in the pilots seat to rest. As he tended to the small burns and cuts he sustained, he toyed with a couple controls to test response time while the shuttle was active.*

"Okay, like I thought." *Sighs as he stops and deactivates the shuttle one last time.* "This thing is going to be slower to respond in flight, but I did my job." *Reclines back into the seat, exhaling as he enjoyed the simple comfort as compared to most in the camp.*

*With the job done, the Sith did his best to relax, waiting for Nartaga's return to tell the good news and the warnings he had for the leader. He began to drift to a sleep like state, though he kept himself aware the whole time, still as trusting as he was with those around him.*

Re: Sand People Enclave

*The Elder chuckled at Katarina, as if he took her story as a joke; a children's story. Of course he checked himself when he realized how he was acting, completely out of character for himself. Being in tune with Tatooine, the blood spilled as of late had unsettled him, and was making him act reckless, even angry and disrespectful towards others.
His own actions to try and stop the bloodshed had only caused Nartaga to take a stronger stance on winning this war. He shook his head and bowed in sorrow to Katarina.*

=Elder=
I am sure you can provide cover fire for any caught in the coming battle. Please forgive my condescending tones. These past few weeks have not been easy for anyone, even outside the paradise of Tatooine.

*While most would laugh at the thought of Tatooine being a paradise in the Galaxy, the Elder did no such thing. To him, Tatooine was a paradise, and if others could only see it through his eyes, they might think the same. The Old Shaman looked to Anven and nodded.*

=Elder=
I must again thank you for your help, Anven. I will make sure that Nartaga knows of your intentions to assist them during the battle.

*Though he said this, the Elder made no move to leave. The wind picked up a little bit in the silence.*

*Back at the ship, Nartaga chuckled but did not fully understand some of what Xarl said, at least in the way they were used, but he at least recieved what the Yuuzhan meant by the tone.*

=Nartaga=
I know of the technology beyong our little haven of sand. I think I am just realizing it, but all of my actions to bolster the defence of my clan could very well be used for offense. I always knew it, but never considered all the possibilities. If we continue at the same pace of acquiring the Outsider's technologies and improving it, we can take over the Galaxy in just under a few thousand years.

*Nartaga laughed heartily at his own joke. He sensed Enam's completion of the ship's repairs, more or less. He seemed to enter a trance of some sort as he walked up into the ship. Nartaga smiled beneath his mask as he looked to Enam. He could tell by Enam's aura that he had some good news, but he could tell that the repairs were not as effective to the ship's control as Nartaga would have hoped. He asked Enam a simple question.*

=Nartaga=
How well will the machine fly?

*Anven nodded to both Katarina and the elder though he was getting a little restless just sitting here waiting and so he decided he would go out and do a little scouting. At first eh walked further into the lounge taking his greatsword from his back and setting it down and then walked back to where Katarina and the elder were. He bowed to them both and then began to head down the ramp waving as he left.*

Well now that we got that settled i think I will go out an stretch my legs a bit before the battle. You can use my ship's cam to contact me if I miss anything and if I am not back in time Katarina you have permission to pilot my ship.

*Anven then disappeared into the crowd of the enclave and headed towards the gates. when he got there the guards had by now recognized him and were already opening them for him and so he waled out quickly and the gates were closed behind him as he headed out into the Dune Sea.*

*There was little left for Xarl to say so he just stood there stoically. Always stoically. That's just how he rolls. Anywho, he gave himself another once over, ejecting the coufee from his right gauntlet and using it to scrape bits of crusted gore off of his crab plate. Shem-Kreatu's tongue assisted in that task as well, lapping up any remaining morsels that had fastened themselves to the black chitinous shell beneath thanks to the oppressive heat of Tatooine's twin suns. When the armour looked as good as he believed it would get, the subaltern retrieved a small vial from his satchel and began to squeeze a green viscus liquid over the blade of the coufee. With a piece of robeskin he procured from his pouch, Xarl wiped down the blade, cleaning its surface with the oily substance until he could see his own hideously disfigured reflection in it. He returned the venogel vial to his satchel and slid the coufee back into his gauntlet, letting the cilia inside the secret crevice latch on and hold it in place.*

*Taking a sip of water from the animal skin he had been given, Xarl waited and watched the exchange between Enam and Nartaga. It seemed they were just about ready to go.*

*Enam slowly turned to the side, facing Nartaga without opening his eyes. His voice sounded somewhat hoarse as he spoke, though clearing out as he continued.*

"This ship? It'll fly, though you'll be slow in changing directions. The controls have gotten slippy with the rigging I've done to get this hunk of scrap to float, though I doubt it'll be much of a problem if you don't rush." *Placing his hand on his forehead, he rubs the sweat off his brow while finally looking at the Tusken square in the eye.* "You'll need the parts that I was able to bypass though, this patch work won't last you more than eight hours of continuous flight without blowing up something beyond repair. You've been warned."

*Without much other thought, Enam closed his eyes again as he adjusted his posture in the seat to get more comfortable, waiting for either praise or chastising from the leader. Depending on the response, Enam could either assert himself more dominant if he were to be thought of as a weak volunteer, or simply let the leader have his moment if he granted thanks to an unlikely partner.*

*Nartaga bowed in both respect and thanks to Enam. Though the repairs were not that good, by the warning that Enam gave the Tusken Councilor. He was disappointed that the Shuttle's flight would not be long, but it was better than nothing.*

I am in debt to your willingness to help those you have before deemed your enemies, Enam Revlis. If there is anything that the R'Crurak can do for you, all you need do is ask. I will hope, however, that you will join us in the final battle. You might take pride at the sight of the Shuttle raining death on our enemies. I can arrange for you to ride the shuttle, and watch from the command pod. It is entirely up to you.

*Nartaga bowed again, and looked over the repairs once more before moving to the command console and placing his hand on it again. He stood there for a moment, and though it could not be seen, his lips moved in a silent prayer for those that would ride this ship into battle, and hopefully make it back on. Nartaga looked up at Enam, Xarl and then to the Tusken Engineers who were prepping the ship for flight.

Already the Sentries, Warriors, and Shamans were begining to make their way to the shuttle, and loading up supplies for the battle, and themselves one by one.*

"So..." *He piped up.* "...are we ready to go yet or what?"

*There were times when Xarl wished his caste hadn't chosen the black coloured variant of vonduun skerr kyrric. Now, as they stood beneath the twin suns of Tatooine, just so happened to be one of those times.* *Sweat trickled from every pour in his skin, dripping down his body and causing his crab plating to chafe. Mind you, it wasn't the discomfort that troubled him. If it had he would have complained hours ago when his sun burnt scalp began to blister and peel. It was just that the sweating was making him soggy. His grip on the amphistaff in his hands was less secure, his palms slick with perspiration.* *It made him less combat effective.*

Re: Sand People Enclave

*Nartaga threw the Yuuzhan Vong a water bladder after noticing the amount of sweat that he was covered in. Usually Nartaga, having spent considerable time with Outsiders, noticed their conditions when they were guests in his home. He bowed in apology, whether or not Xarl knew what the Tusken was bowing for. Nartaga watched as the last of the Sentries and Shamans boarded, bringing aboard small barriers where the hatches opened to keep them from being slaughtered before they can jump out. Things were almost ready....*

=Nartaga=
We will begin launching our forces and engage the encampment out in the mountains. Our clan's scouts have spotted a large camp there, possibly to provide better cover from our ship. We will transport most of our forces on the ground, and many on the ship for support to flank them when the time comes.

*Nartaga turns to Enam and bows again. The R'Crurak engineers and mechanics are still prepping the ship for launch and flight, and the native language of his people were beginning to drown out all other noise.*

=Nartaga=
You might consider this a step towards your redemption, Enam Revlis.

*Nartaga walked down to the quick release hatches in the lower deck to take his place in the flanking wave.*

*Almost as soon as Nartaga went down, the Elder seemed to materialize out of nowhere behind Xarl. The Old Shaman coughed as he walked past the Yuuzhan Vong Warrior and to Enam. He tried to speak with lower volume to make it harder for Xarl to hear.*

=Elder=
I hope you have done your best to secure Nartaga's trust by now? I can only hope you will continue to fulfill our little agreement? There are powers at work, Enam Revlis. Things that few others can see but me, and possibly the Old Sith can see, but he chooses to sit and watch...A wise decision, and yet an unwise one.

*The Elder turns around abruptly and his goggles lock on Xarl.*

=Elder=
While I do not approve of your involvement in this conflict, Yuuzhan Vong, I will trust Nartaga's judgement, for now....After all, you survived where our great War leader, Or'Rish did not. He was a great man, but he was blinded by anger. I will not speak ill of him, we honor our dead and their sacrifice. I will say this. In his final moment he gave himself to save as many of his Sentries as possible, and you. He had honor. I hope in the short time you knew him, you came to understand that.

Re: Sand People Enclave

*While Enam pondered over where he'd prefer to fight during the coming battle, the comment of redemption left an embittered feeling to creep on him while he tried to relax in the ship, leaving him to feel it didn't set right with him. The clamor of voices and caches of weapons and tools began to grate on Enam by the second, but rather than explode in anger, he merely got up and strolled on to the ships door until he came face-to-goggle with the Elder. Enam's upper lip curled and he began to pick his teeth as though something was stuck in them, listening to the Elder speak with this unsightly gesture until he was to speak, just to annoy him as he was being annoyed until now.*

Nartaga wrote:*Almost as soon as Nartaga went down, the Elder seemed to materialize out of nowhere behind Xarl. The Old Shaman coughed as he walked past the Yuuzhan Vong Warrior and to Enam. He tried to speak with lower volume to make it harder for Xarl to hear.*

*Once the Elder's comments toward Xarl were made, Enam simply replied in a low tone, catching the Elder's attention from the start of his own response.*

"I'll say this. When the agreement was made, I did so with the full intention to provide as promised and going on faith that you'll do the same. I won't, however, be yanked about because of your doubts in my intentions." *Leers into the Elder's goggles with apparent hostility welling up.* "And quite honestly Elder, only the rodder leading the Temple has ever really been able to that and not suffer much harm." *Places his hand on the Elder's shoulder to wipe off some sand that blew onto him, as the hostility in his manner was being suppressed.* "You just take care of yourself until this is all over. I'll take care of your boy there."

*The Elder laughed at Enam's thought that he would need to protect himself. He was always in danger, as were any during times such as these, but he bowed his head in acknowledgement of Enam's 'concern.' The Elder's goggles stared emptily at Enam and an awkward silence ensued for a minute before the Elder spoke.*

=Elder=
As I told the Vong Demon, I shall also tell you. I do not approve of the Sith either, but I know that their existence in this Universe is for a reason. As I may have told you before, I can offer you many things for your aid. One of which is Nartaga's loyalty, and perhaps more, his very life! I have begun to see how the grains of sand are falling, and Nartaga's days are numbered. When the coming battle ensues, his fate shall rest in your hands.....You will find that his and your fates may be intertwined, depending on the choices you make.

*The Elder turned and began walking down to the lower part of the Enclave, down from the mountains. A Tusken Sentry on one of the slugthrower emplacements on the hull of the ship yelled down at Enam and Xarl in his native tongue, gesturing towards the hatch, waiting for the Sith and Vong's choice to go or stay. Down at the base of the Enclave, the Gate of the Tusken Fortress opened as the large force of what remained of the R'Crurak warriors, Sentries, Shamans, scouts, and hunters began on foot and Bantha to the battlefield, single file.*

Re: Sand People Enclave

*Xarl snorted derisively as the Elder moved past him.* *Though the subaltern had gained the respect of some of the tribe and in turn felt respect for them as well, there was still no kindness felt towards the older clansman. His words, at least initially, made him want to wring the wrinkled old wretch's neck with his bare hands.* *But as he continued through his speech, some of that rage ebbed out of the Yuuzhan Vong. At the end of it the Elder has offered him insight, which he immediately took to heart.*

*Or'Rish's sacrafice was still keenly felt. Given all that Xarl had been through since he had arrived, he too would do the same if the choice was there. These tuskens, though not his own people, were worthy of what little existence they etched out in this harsh landscape. He would fight for them...and die for them, if necessary. However, as honourable as the sentry leader had been, it was a quality the warrior had no intention of emulating. Like Or'Rish, his heart was fueled by fury. Saving the Enclave was important, but to Xarl, seeking vengeance on the enemy was more so. They would reap swift retribution on this foe, even if they all had to die doing so.*

"I am the avatar of Yun-Yammka." *He said with zealous fever.* "Or'Rish will be avenged. That is all that matters."

*He wasn't sure if the Elder was even still paying him mind when he spoke. It didn't matter, Xarl was already too lost to his inner darkness. As the sentry motioned to him and Enam, the subaltern ascended the ramp and entered the ship. He placed the tip of his straightened staff on the floor of its interior and bowed his head. For that brief moment everything occurring around him faded out into the background.* *This would all be over soon, one way or another.*

*After a long exhale as the Elder left, Enam started his way towards the shuttle to get aboard. With the ship in it's current condition, and being the one responsible for the backwoods repairs, it only made sense that he'd be on there to make sure things ran as smoothly as possible. He still needed to brief who ever was going to co-pilot on the ins and outs of flying the rust bucket, though his manner would be affected from the Elder's comments. The thought about Nartaga didn't leave much concern in his mind, but thinking on prospects of losing his ticket to controlling the planet again left more of a serious mindset in him.*

*Without another word spoken, he also sized up the Vong that entered the shuttle before him, giving thanks under his breath that something other than him would attract the attention of an army of angry Tuskens. Once at his intended stations, he spoke up to Xarl.*

*Xarl's mqaaq'it slowly rolled open following Enam's statement. He turned his head and looked at the Sith through the eye holes of his helm, regarding him with mild interest.* *Although there was something offsetting about the man, he seemed to share a similar place as the subaltern in the eyes of the Elder. They were both treated with caution and disdain. In the Yuuzhan Vong's case it was well deserved, though he could not be certain if the same was true for Enam. What limited information he knew about the Sith was gathered while researching the Jeedai. The inherent risk in drawing from only one source was that it left the information open to the biases of the recorder. Needless to say he was aware that the Sith in general had a poor reputation among the galaxy's denizens, but then, so did his own. He wasn't sure what they had done to the tusken people specifically to earn the ire of their oldest member.*

"I have never headed into a battle with such a technologically inferior force as this. The results should be...interesting. A common tactic of my people is to send waves of slave soldiers into battle first to soften up or overwhelm the opposition by sheer number. They are similarly armed to what I see here, though usually there are many more of them. Many, many more." *He barked a harsh chuckle.* "Now I am among the fodder. Yes, this will be interesting indeed."

*He gave the Sith a once over, examining from head to toe before continuing.*

"I have heard it said that your people command great magics, that they can shoot lightning bolts from their fingers and can kill without even moving a muscle. Is it true? Do you command such power? I would certainly like to see such a thing employed in battle if it is so."

*At this Enam smirked at the Vong's sense of humor, though he did feel that the comment did denote he was painting the Sith as no better than the fodder the warrior's people would exploit. The dry chuckle that escaped from the Sith though was honestly of amusement.*

*Enam gave a good look Xarl, with a mild smirk gliding across his face. The thought that he had an audience watching him rather than another being trying to flee was a flattering thought, though he remained more curious of the Vong's own combat prowess.*

"Oh, well then prepare for a show. I intend to serve up a lot of crisp meat to the desert's creatures." *His eyes narrowed as he spoke again, staring straight at Xarl's face.* "Though it'd be nice to see the technique of a great butcher as he cleaves and rips through this field, that I'd pay to see. How about it? A nice big, and wild show that this world wont soon forget."

Re: Sand People Enclave

*Behind the black chitinous helm he wore, the subaltern's eye sacs bulged in excitement, his warrior spirit almost feeding off the savagery the Sith suggested. Zealous devotion to his chosen path kept him from giving in entirely, cooling the fire he felt in his blood and obscuring visions of brutality enacted with a veil of purpose and calm collection.* *Enam as a person appealed to the hunter in Xarl. He was not sure if this was because the man was a Sith or due to his own unique personality; regardless, his words struck a cord of truth. They played upon his passions, inflaming that which was the core of his birth caste.*

"Those of the Yuuzhan Vong warrior caste long for close quarters combat, I am no exception to the rule. To get in close where an amphistaff can do the most damage, carving the meat from the bone, looking your foe in the face as the light fades from their eyes." *He reflected aloud.* "The infidels have called my race barbaric and cruel. Perhaps it is so. Nonetheless, several thousand years of careful breeding have gone into my caste. From it has evolved warriors of such utter perfection that few if any can rival their prowess."

*The head of Xarl's staff became malleable, bending from its straightened state so that the fanged maw of the serpent peered down, fixing its eyes on Enam as Xarl did the same. Beads of venom formed on the tips of its exposed fangs, dripping down to form a wet puddle on the floor near the warrior's feet. Shem-Kreatu, sharing what amounted to an inseparable link with its master, clearly sensed the growing eagerness in Xarl. A quiet hiss from its throat broke the brief pause of silence following his claim. The Yuuzhan Vong followed this by acknowledging Enam's query.*

"Aye, you'll find a butcher in me. It's all that I am, all that I was meant to be. But this will not be carnage without purpose. I owe the R'Crurak a debt that can only be repaid in blood. The enemy tribe's chieftain, he I hold responsible for the death of Or'Rish. This will not end until his head has been mounted upon his own gaderffii. All else is of inconsequential concern."
