Spacedock/Production Floor

*The crisscrossing orbital space docks of Kuat Drive yards ring the planet in a massive facility. Certain areas are designed for artillery pieces, defense platforms, weapons systems, ship building and anything else you could think of on the product list.*

Re: Spacedock/Production Floor

*Bilke looks at his production order and the schedule in his hands. The order of 200 self propelled artillery pieces had put a slight hitch in his plans for a vacation but by heavens, they are for Coruscant. His men had been working overtime for a month after the order came in because of the sudden scarcity of a certain component need in the targeting system.

Now that the parts had arrived, the production had resumed full on, however, his wife Rimi was less than thrilled that their trip to Spira had been canceled. He promised to make it up to her but the pout on her face contradicted her words of understanding.

Sighing at the schedule, he puts on an extra shift of men to finish up the units ASAP. Hopefully with some hustle, they could finish the order and he could still salvage some of the vacation.*

Re: Spacedock/Production Floor

*Bilke rubbed his eyes blearily as he opened the email with the new production schedule on it. Several troop transports, an Venator and a Pellaeon. Just great. He had finally been able to take Rimi to Spira like she wanted however it seemed like the schedule was going to make him pay for his time off.

Towards the bottom of the email, he noticed that Lorta had okayed the dock assignments that Jemi had written in. They were all his. He knew he ran the tightest dock and he knew with vacation season on them, everyone and their brother was requesting time off. Any way he sliced it, he had to pick up the slack and fast.

He set his men to work on it and before long the ships and transports were coming together nicely. Every once in a while, he could have sworn he saw a silhouette of a woman in the top office watching his production floor. Shaking it off, he always went back to work, but was it Lorta checking in on him, or her notorious master?*

*The Venator and Pellaeon were completed on time and sat waiting on a crew to deliver them to their clients while Bilke and the rest of the workers went on building two new Imperial Cargo ships. Those rolled off the line, slightly late before they were sent for delivery.*

Re: Spacedock/Production Floor

*And so began yet another order within the bowels of the orbital facility, this time a request that was larger than the last thus requiring more materials to essentially begin. Such was the reason for the seemingly late start in production, as one can not build ships without the required parts. As such were being loaded into the dry-docks, crew chiefs and technicians were examining the blueprints needed to create the requested vessels of war.

When the loading droids were finished with their task, construction would begin...*

Using loading droids and lifter bots to hold much of the new starship's interior structure, many of the deck workers and contracted electrician's began their work. Plasma torches sparked to life as blast shields were lowered, and the fires of industry had let off the smoke of progress. It would be days, even weeks before these vessels of war were able to sail through the black ocean of the void, but when they did songs would fill the bellies of cantina's around their new home, singing of the deeds their masters*

Tuesday. November 29th wrote:*It had been just a few minutes after half of the interior super structure was built, that the contracted electricians and technicians had been unleashed. Upon the stable decks they began their laborious work of setting up the wiring and much of the systems that would give life to these mere tools of destruction. As they had finished and continue to move along at a steady pace alongside those still wrapping up the super structure, the inner hull plates were ever so slowly attached the these metallic behemoths. It was around this time that the materials needed for production of the smaller, yet more agile Corona-Class Frigates had shipped into the orbital facility. Like the Broadside cruisers before them, these vessels began simply as the interior superstructure. Basic metallic plates welded together to form the skeleton of the warship.*

An early morning warning about some of the plates might be malformed had many of the men with plasma torches scared that they'd lose a few limbs while trying to correct the hull plating. Thankfully however the warning was unfounded as they continued to proceed applying the armour plating. Whilst the armour plates were being torched and sealed to the skeleton of each vessel, gun turrets were fitted and lowered onto the gun girder and sealed tightly to the roller path. Having installed much of the weaponry, during one of the lunch breaks pre-programmed droids began their weapons testing. Making sure each turbolaser was calibrated and that the missile targeting systems and drivers were up to date, the crew of droids had left the recently fed works with a smile upon their face. For they could smell payday coming much sooner than expected.*

Switching the crews once again in order to keep energy and morale at peak capacity , the fresh crews began their bout on polishing up the vessels and finishing up the loose ends the other crews had left behind.*

*As the three lancer class frigates were completed and shipped off into the "Shipping and receiving" floor, the production crews took a moment to themselves before they begun on this newest and largest order they've had in a while. Like every order before, the management staff procured the blueprints and material list for what they were requested to create and put in the call. It'd be a few days for the items to finally make the journey from their suppliers, but when they came in the fun would begin.*

Hundreds of thousands of employee's donned their suits and worked in the weightless environment, easily shaping the metallic bones into a shell.

It would take time to fill this order, and the customer knew that was to come, everyone only hoped they would be patient enough to let them do their job...*

Much of the populace that had a family, or desperately in need of the extra credits, continued on as blaster fire began to fill the interior hallways of the planet wide shipyard. Those unlucky enough to be caught in the open were slaughtered by the pirates as they made their way towards a hangar bay. Those that were lucky enough to be in their suits, were lucky enough to find themselves alive and well as the raiders had withdrew.

When the pirates had left the system, those that managed to survive took some time off to scour through the wreckage and search for their missing loved ones.*

*As the chaos of the pirate raid began to fade from memory, construction upon the fleet that filled the drive yards progressed ever forward. The end was in sight, only a few more short weeks and the order would be ready to slip out into the black void to sow the seeds of justice, and hopefully there after... peace.

As the final touches began upon the ships currently docked within the planetary ring, a new order "rang up" so to speak. This adventure however would take years to undertake, outfitting an entire planet with a refit and construction yards much like the one surrounding Kuat now takes vasts amount of time to complete. The price would find itself through the roof and be the highest paying contract Kuat has ever undertaken in this quarter.

Records would be broken here.. and the day when everything was completed will remain in the contractors hearts for some time.*

Re: Spacedock/Production Floor

*A significant length of time had passed the Kuati people by after the raid by an un-named band of pirates. A legendary order had to be filled and the Kuati people would literally live for such a chance to fulfill their destines, of making stuff, before they were shot into space inside a small enclosed pine box. Sad life no? Trapped within a station, paid with a paltry sum of credits, the cycle of life within the orbital array would only continue as that's all they ever knew. As such they poured their hearts and souls into every aspect of the orders construction.*

Re: Spacedock/Production Floor

*As per usual, things around the drydocks were busy. Production continued on, seemingly without a hitch. Granted there were a few altercations, but such events were quickly dealt with. Plates were still being welded to much of the stations superstructure's, circuitry was still being wired and fed through much of the unfinished interiors, and some stations were still being outfitted with their reactors. It would be slow and tedious, but they'd be able to process this order within a year or so. Thankfully nothing else major had come up since this request had been filed through.*
