Re: The Southern Hemisphere

*Exchequer Australis entered into the Outpost 78. He had gone there in hopes of taming mighty war dragons. But, that was not his real reason. No, Ex, was never the sort to be easily read. It was in his nature as a self-defense mechanism from when his parents were taken away from him. Ex felt that if he could hide his real intentions then he would be safe. Later down the road and into the future when he would turn to a life of crime, this ability to be hard to read would prove to be an asset and a weakness for Ex. Anyways, his real reason was to lay low from Mercenary work. Ex was the best at it, he executed any mission with ease and he never took prisoners. Ex preferred to kill instead of take a chance. His actions were to be untraceable and also to act a calling card.

Ex was 30, full and strong and full of vigor. And, he had been invited to the outpost by the parents of Vee H'rel. Ex knew them from a Mandolorian connection, for his aliit'alor Kaine Australis had a few contacts when he held the helm as Mand'alor. He had made his way from Kashyyk to Basilisk, where he had confronted his demons in the shadowlands of Kashyyyk.

Ex, was during that brief time before the empire was destroyed one of the main money and business managers, he also ran Mandal Arms. Ex was close to Kaine and considered himself to be one of the most loyal supporters to him. Anyways, Ex was here at Outpost 78.

Ex stayed away from the commlines and was generally outside of the compound. His silent body, a lurking predator, watching the few war dragons that ventured close enough. He was a trained Black Operative and knew that he must watch his prey and gather the required intel before making a decision. But, Ex lacked one thing and that was, he had never trained or tamed a war dragon before. Also, Ex had heard from Vee's parents that she was coming. And, with that idea, he thought that maybe she could help him. For, she was married to the legendary Taung H'rel. And, usually Taung would follow Vee, and with Taung along, Ex could learn how to do it. Well, that was the plan.*

Re: The Southern Hemisphere

*As soon as the Raven landed, Vee grabbed her bag, Taung's bag, and the weapons she brought, and bound to the exit where the ramp was being lowered by Captain Aliit.*

*Ah, Basilisk! Vee never thought she'd be so happy to see the dead, dirty, dangerous planet. All her life she dreamed of leaving, dreamed of seeing the whole wide galaxy, especially more of her people, and find her place within it, but now...it hadn't hit her how homesick she was until she was back. She had been lonely on Lianna with Taung gone most of the time, and when Taung had been around, she had been sick. They had only a few days together - only 1 day as actually husband and wife - before she had fallen ill, and then Taung left for war. She didn't have any friends, and she felt so disconnected, having been born and raised on a backwater Mandalorian planet.

But now she was home, with the only people left in the whole wide galaxy that she could call family, save Taung. And even though she did miss Taung, and was worried about his safety, Vee didn't really know her husband that well, nor had they bonded very much due to lack of opportunity.*

*Without waiting for anyone else to emerge from the ship, Vee made haste towards Outpost 79, which was only several yards away. He former father-in-law was coming out to check what all the noise was about, her former mother-in-law following. Their faces lit up in happy disbelief when they saw her, their exclamations bringing their daughter to the door as well.*

*The next several days Vee stayed with her family while Caption Aliit stayed on board the Raven. She was able to catch up with all the latest happenings, and answer their numerous questions as well. They were disappointed that Taung had not come with her, but very proud, understanding, and interested in the war that was going on. Vee couldn't tell them anything about it however, only what she had experienced in leaving the planet.

They didn't have much to tell themselves, other than stories of dragon confrontation, but the one piece of news that was really interesting was the new occupation of Outpost 78, Vee's parents' old outpost. Her former in-laws had a friend who needed refuge, and had helped him claim the post at 78. His name was Exchequer Australis, and he was alone at 78. They encouraged Vee to visit, and make herself useful until Taung returned, as they believed it was the best way for keeping her mind off things...

For Vee's family feared that what had happened to Todon would happen to Taung, and hoped that if Vee kept busy, and made a strong, mando 'friend', that if something were to happen to Taung, Vee would be comforted...*

Re: The Southern Hemisphere

*After several days spent with her family at Outpost 79, Vee took their advice and left on board the Raven with Captain Aliit piloting to visit Outpost 78. While she was interested in meeting the new occupant of the facility, she was also unsure if visiting the place she grew up with her parents would be a good idea. Despite the fact it had been almost a year since their deaths, the memories seemed even fresher now that she returned to Basilisk, and all she wanted was to avoid them...and the way they turned her thoughts towards the danger Taung was putting himself in, and how badly it ended for Todon when he had done the same.

Traveling to Outpost 78 from 79 usually took between 1-2 days, but with Taung's personal ship, it only took a few hours. There were fortunately no signs of dragons or dragon activity. They made it safe and sound to 78.*

*Aliit landed the ship a few meters away from the outpost, in case of an emergency. Aliit staying with the ship, Vee slowly walked out with her bag and weapons as she made her way to the outpost's entrance. Pushing back the negative memories, she pressed the button that would signal any occupants that there was someone or thing at their door...*

Re: The Southern Hemisphere

*Ex heard someone at the door, but he wasn't exactly at the door. With the door being a metaphor for the outpost entrance. It wasn't like a door to a moisture farm on Tatooine. No, it was a bit more cooler, with huge metal slabs-like doors that would open as if you were opening a safe, but instead of going back they retracted into the side. Anyways, Ex was outside and heard it as it commlinked his suit. He really should have placed sensors, but he was either too drunk or to lazy to do it. But, anyways, he raised his beskad, really the only weapon he carried and rounded the outpost and came face to face with none other than a female mando.*

Who are you? And, what do you want?

*His weapon raised and his addrenline pumping, his voice came out full of energy and of course full of testosterone if he had to defend himself that is.*

*Afraid of the memories rushing back and excited that she was going to see her home once more, Vee caught herself tapping the hilts that were clipped to the belt at her waist. The belt, like the rest of her form fitting clothing and boots, was made out of dragon hide. Her long red-gold hair was braided down her back, and her bag was slug over one shoulder, with Taung's over the other.

She was expecting the door to open and a man with a weapon to be standing before her. What happened was a gruff, intense barking to her left, causing her to whip around quickly, her weapon ready and pointing in the direction the sound came. What she saw was probably a man. He was completely clad in armor though, so it was hard to tell, save by the built and height, although Vee was quite tall herself.

Seeing him, she slowly brought her weapon down. It had to be 78's new occupant...no one else would have reason to be roaming around the outpost the way this man was. It wasn't like there was any crime on Basilisk.*

My name is Vee Ru - I mean, Vee H'rel. I used to live here at 78, but I live at 79 now. I'm coming by to check up on the mando'ad living here now. Who are you?

Re: The Southern Hemisphere

*Ex didnt like visitors and pointed the gun at Vee. He didn't want to draw attention but maybe, she was alright. Or maybe she was a threat. But, somewhere over the horizon someone was watching and Ex didn't like the feeling of that, maybe it was a dragon or a bounty hunter or a rogue. Whatever, it was, Ex knew he was safer inside. He pointed his beskad at her. Sure, she had a gun or maybe it was something else, Ex couldn't tell. But, he was more deadly with a beskad than with anything else.*

Get in, its best we don't draw attention. I dislike intruders.

*Ex would try to keep his identity hidden as long as he could.*
