Re: Yavin Station

*Whether she noticed his gaze or not, the Twi'lek woman did not immediately reveal, simply smiling in his direction as she answered his question.*

=Sarha Vao=
"All over, but I work here on the Station most of the time."

*She glanced at him, making a brief and fleeting eye-contact; fortunately, it was not during any glances lower on her anatomy, so she didn't catch him looking anywhere other than her face, if at her at all.*

=Sarha Vao=

Re: Yavin Station

*He noddeded his mousy brown hair tussling as his head moved, his eyebrows then lifted and he cocked his head to one side.*

*He was surpirsed, his assumption was partially wrong for the Twi'lek was stationed ironically on the station itself for the majority of her time. He returned her smile warmly and wondered what demand there could possibly be for her on the station and then wondered if there was much demand for her services and expertise at all if she found her self situated for the majority of her time on this floating metal ball. Surely it couldn't be fun, but then hadn't Steffo learned that it was the small simple things in life that could provide the largest rewards. For a start off she must encounter a lot of different beings, cultures and races and really the myriad of life and the fact that the daily routine would never be the same could be quite exciting and fascinating.*

"I see and do you find your work rewarding?" *He asked in response to her answer a he was genuinely interested in learning more and finding out what her job invovled in the hope he could graps a better understanding.*

*His smile widened at her response, oh yes he had been here before all right. He laughed warmly.*

"Namely I have returned home." *He shrugged then gestured before him indicating Yavin IV as though it could be physically seen before him.* "If anywhere has earned the right to be called my home, then it is Yavin. I have been her and even studied here.....yes. It is good to be back."

*He extend beyond the formal too much, namely there were things she didn't need to know and although he wasn't wishing to keep anything from and especially the fact he was a jedi, he wasn't going to openly reveal it. He also wasn't sure what her angle on him being called by the force would be. So he left it simple and precise.*

Re: Yavin Station

*She looked at him now, the thin pencil line of her cosmetically applied brow arching, and the tip of the one lekku that lay at rest in front of her shoulder curling up slightly.*

=Sarha Vao=
"A Jedi?"

*Her head dipped to the side as she looked at him. There was an element of scepticism about her look, but only a passing one, and it appeared more teasing than truly suspicious.*

=Sarha Vao=
"I'd say you don't look like a Jedi, but then, with that lot down there -- " *She, too, gestured down and ahead of her as if the planet were right there for them to see.* " -- any preconception I ever had of what a Jedi should or shouldn't look like was long ago dismissed."

*She shrugged, looking back to the front.*

=Sarha Vao=
"But yeah, I am proud of what I do here. I mean, considering I'm a fully qualified Doc, and considering I've been a field surgeon, a lot of it is really minor stuff - patch ups and general practice. Colds, or training injuries the soldiers or Jedi get training, things like that. But I'm always on rota for the emergency medical teams." *Again, the woman looked at him.* "All things being considered, if I'm not needed to tend to medical emergencies post-battle or natural disaster, then that's probably a good thing. So I can deal with the humdrum if it means people aren't getting hurt. You know what I mean?"

Re: Yavin Station

*Steffo nodded in response confirming he was a Jedi. He then shrugged and smiled when she told him of the unorthodox bunch at the temple, she had almost been inclined to describe them as a rabble.*

"There is no look as such, a Jedi is usually defined more by their practices and actions just as you are." *He wasn't hinting at her dress with this comment, but at first glance and upon missing the embossed logo one wouldn't jump to the automatic conclusion the Twi'lek was a Medic let alone a Doctor. If Steffo had learned one very important facts it was that looks could be very deceiving.*

"I know what you mean." *He said responding to her comment about inactivity, although always prefering to be active he guessed it would both be a sad and joyous day when the Jedi Order wasn't needed anymore, however Steffo doubted that day would ever come, although there had been brief established periods of relative peace.* "Sadly it seems that this is where are work meets as one, the day when beings are no longer harmed would be a beautiful day, sadly those days are few and far between." *He smiled.* "if it helps your udnerstanding both our professions serve to better beings and in our own ways fight for their survival and betterment."

*Steffo thought this was rather apt and true. What he noticed and admired about her was her passion, when she spoke it shone through. Her work gave her purpose and meaning but it also made her feel goos, she was making a difference and aiding others, this too was Steffo's call to service and to life. How the force worked in mysterious ways.*

Re: Yavin Station

*He wasn't but a meter from the turbolift when the poor little sensors officer, who was confused enough as it was, called for him to come back, that there was something that had changed. He spun back around, the heel of his boot grinding against the floor, clacking as he retraced the steps he had made not two minutes ago. He leaned over the man's chair, resting his hands on the back of it.* "What am I looking at, Corporal?"

"Fire, sir."

*Fire. Burning. Fire burning. How. The activity was seismic, not volcanic. No, this wasn't natural. Not at all. He stretched beyond himself, reached out into the mystical body that was the ocean of the Force. That little moon, there was no life there, hadn't been for at least a decade, more like two now. But he still couldn't place it. No, something was wrong. The sort of wrong that called for investigation. Investigation by men. Investigation by men with a lightsabers.*

"This is beyond me by my lonesome. Prep the Templar for immediate in-system movement. Move fireship squadrons into it, and get me a squad of Marines. I'll take care of the rest."

*He pushed off the chair, moving back towards the turbolift, his actions much more of a flurry than before.*

Re: Yavin Station

*A short train of service cars sped through the open entrance to Hangar Bay 1854. Their destination was the group of Dragon Squadron's X-wing starfighters in the center.*

*As the train passed nearest his own fighter, Vesten Kor-taan stepped off, carefully, and waved in thanks to the driver.*

"Make sure they make that contact!" *He shouted.* "I want them to meet me there!"

*The human Jedi turned to look with glee at his fighter, marked with eight red stripes on its wings. His mood was one of excitement, for it had been so long since he had been to Coruscant and the Jedi Temple there. With a spring in his step, Ves took to the ladder at the side of his fighter.*

*He stopped just prior to climbing into the personalized cockpit, looking on as his astromech was lowered into its slot just aft of the hatch.*

"Good to go, Tattle?" *he asked, using the nickname for his R-series droid, designated R8-T8.*

*As the droid whistled a confirmation, Ves lugged his staff up and slid it into the slot modified into the side of the cockpit. He knew it wasn't practical in case of an emergency, but he wouldn't have it any other way. After the staff was snug, he pulled himself into the rather comfortable seat and closed the cockpit hatch.*

*Looking out the gaping exit of the hangar, he could see his fellow Dragon pilots streaking toward the Argentine.*

"Pre-flight checks are all good, Tattle. Let's get a move on."

*Leaning back comfortably, Vesten's grin drew as wide across his face as was possible as he lifted the starfighter from its place and accelerated out of the hangar.*

She was quiet for a moment, leaving a protracted pause of silence between them as they travelled, her staring straight ahead. Re: Yavin Station

*He had noticed and felt her awkwardness and it too made him feel awkward. He hadn't wished to cause her discomfort, but it was udnerstandable. Some beings found it difficult to talk to others and it seemed in particular a good number found speaking to a Jedi more so again. Steffo could see it though from her view. For most the Jedi were an odd bunch of archaic monks who poked their nose in where it wasn't wanted. Despite the years the Order had existed what little people new about it was striking. It was ignorance that led to misconception.*

*He smiled in return as the lift neared the floor, the shuttle bay could be seen racing up to greet them, the several shuttles warmed up and denizens embarking or disembarking depending on whether the craft was ingoing or outgoing.*

"I have been absent for some two years from the known regions of space, however I have been away from Yavin IV for much longer, perhaps eight years or more now." *He nodded slowly to himself remebering his last short visit, but that didn't really count since he hadn't stayed any great duration. In fact it had been more acurately fourteen years since he had trained and taught here.* *That was when he had been a bit more reckless and held a powerful position someone of his age and experience perhaps shouldn't have. Steffo thoguht there was a good chance he was possibly the youngest high council member to be elected within the history of the Jedi Order. However it didn't neccessarily make it a wise decission and he could see now why the Council chose its collective body with a great degree of more care. Furthermore the Council was a more equal body of representitives than it had been previously and an effective body it was. He made a mental note to enquire about the next council meeting, whether it be a meeting of Yavin Jed or the High Council he would attend so he could be updated on proceedings, for no doubt much had happened.*

*The turbolift began slowing as it neared the floor selected. The throbbing of the lfit died and the low pitch tone that had fallen away to background noise raised in pitch as the lift slowed, until it stopped and then the noise ceased. Steffo turned to the Twi'lek as the doors opened and gestured with his hand.* "After you." *He smiled pleasantly and nodded curtly as he followed her out of the lift.*

Re: Yavin Station

*She nodded in thanks at him as the lift doors opened, stepping out, turning with a glance to see if he had fallen into step with her - they were, after all, headed into the same Shuttlebay.*

=Sarha Vao=
"Well, in that case, welcome home." *A warm and genuine smile flashed across her face now.* "Let me show you to the shuttle. I've got to check some supplies coming up from the surface, and they'll be the same shuttle that you'll take back down."

*She guided him through the bay, the slight awkwardness of before now passed as she strolled through the hangar, a delicate and elegant swivel in her hips. She smiled and nodded to one engineer as they passed by, stopped suddenly as a frantic R6 Astromech cut across their path, and finally, guided Steffo to a Theta class Shuttle at the far end of the vast hangar deck, closest to the magnetic shield separating them from the vacuum beyond.

As they arrived, aside from a handful of passengers disembarking, a trio of droids were shifting crates from the Shuttle to a hover-sled. The crates themselves were emblazoned with words in bold Aurebesh letters, which read;*

BOTANICAL MEDICAL SUPPLIES - HANDLE WITH CARE

*The young woman headed straight for these crates, digging a datapad out of her medic's kit as she went. She glanced down at the datapad, and then up at the crates quickly, doing a quick preliminary check against her own records.*

=Sarha Vao=
"These look like the ones!" *She looked back at the Jedi now, an upward nod toward the shuttle - and a curling of her lekku in the same direction - indicating the subject of her next statement.* "And this will be your ride, once they finish unloading."

Re: Yavin Station

*He smiled warmly and nodded an appreciative thank you, but put it into words anyway.* "Thank you, that's very kind of you."

*Her persued in following her classping his hands lightly in front of him as he walked toward the famillair shape of the Lambda class shuttle the Yavin Academy was fond of using.* *He noted that this particular shuttle bore marks on its undersides that semed to originate from plant material and posibly soil.

Things became perfectly clear when he followed her gaze to the large ensemble of botanical detail being currently unloaded mostly by the hand of humanoid workers. He paused to watch the natural hustle and bustle as they worked in uniformed coordination to unload the vessel in the most systematic and labour and time saving manner possible. Steffo noted how no time was wasted. For instance whilst the work group milled about parading up and down the loading ramp a hover tanker had moved into position and a masked refueller was busy monitoring the fuel output as the vessel was refilled for what would shortly be her outbound flight. He wondered if this was the crews last shipment, first shipment or a one of. Was this vessel tasked to transport botanical wares up to the station and beings down to the surface. More than likely all the vessels were of similar design for they were excellent workhorses as craft, well known for their spacious holds for carrying civilians and goods alike.

Steffo wondered what the durasteel packing cases contained, suddenly her work and the nature of her work seemed rather interesting. Medicine and herbology was not a field he could say he had any marginal expertise whatsoever. Perhaps plant life should be something he could look into once upon the surface after all plants were life and thus part of the nature and make up of the force. Were they not components of the very living force Steffo held such a strong affinity toward.*

*He smiled again although this time more to himself and his own inner musings. He gestured with his right hand toward the packing crates.* "May I ask what is in the containers. I can see they are of some importance." *This wasn't entirely true for visually one could decipher nothing other than that they contain possible hazardous botanical substances. However Steffo had picked up on the anticipation and excitment of those now disembarking. This ensemble consisted of a trio of beings clad in similar uniforms, although not necessarily cut the same. The trio consisted of a Rodian, a Bothan and a red skinned Twi'lek and all donned a white lab coat. They seemed busy talking in hushed tones as they exited the shuttle and moved down the ramp. The Rodian caught Sarha's gaze and broke away from the main group whilst the other two contined toward the banks of turbolifts. He approached the Twi'lek and smiled. Steffo noted the data pad in his hand. He paused upon the verge of speaking noticing Steffo's presence. He smiled thinly and then cast Sarha a look as though to ask for an explaination and if what he should say might wait to avoid prying ears.*

The Rogue Echo wrote:*The young girl had been in a coma for some time now. An outside observer of her life would have remarked that it was starting to become rather commonplace for her now, but of course the only ones who had known her during her early years were long gone, forgotten among the stars. Her body was whole again, healed after the horrendous crash on the nearby frozen moon of Yavin 8, but her mind was still dealing with the aftermath. Her physical form had been crippled, broken, but that was nothing compared to the damage to her spirit. She was strong, but the combined influence of the Sword and the Seed on the jungle moon had taken control of her while she was alone in orbit. Her mind, her fledgling connection to the Force had remained hers, but her body had become someone else's tool.

She had lived with that once, and this recent recurrence had brought back the memories. Her mental communion with Dav had only intensified them, and while he was with her, they had been tolerable; but when he had left, her mind had rebelled against them, shutting them out and shutting her down.

Her mind was healing, albeit slowly. And soon she would be able to face reality again..*

*Again she looked up at him from her datapad, where she was punching in data and cross checking reference numbers.*

=Sarha Vao=
"They're new herbal remedies that Master Madoon has come up with from his gardens." *The Twi'lek's delicately shaped face dropped once more to the datapad, but she spoke as she worked, eyes flitting between the pad and the crates as she moved around them.* "Bacta's wonderful stuff, but it's still an expensive commodity and we can be just that little bit more efficient with our funding and resources if we supplement it with alternatives. Master Madoon's medicines serve as excellent treatments for less critical injuries, allowing us to keep the Bacta reserved for the really serious cases."

*She stopped in her movements, and looked up at the Jedi Knight.*

=Sarha Vao=
"You'd know Master Madoon then, I guess? He's been here the longest of all the Jedi, after all."

Re: Yavin Station

*Steffo saw the Rodian's head stalks twitch as Sahara proceeded to inform Steffo. Steffo felt a tide of quiet anoyance, however this seemed to quickly disolve and dissipate when Sahara mentioned Zuli's name. The Rodian turned then to study the Jedi Knight and as though realising for the first time Steffo was a Jedi he gave a quirky smile and seemed to grow an inch taller.*

*steffo couldn't conceal the wry smile that danced across his lips.* *It wasn't at the Rodian's discomfort but at the apparent airs and graces he now put on when he decided Steffo was someone who was now important and deserved the Rodian's respect. It never ceased to amaze him how fickle some beings could be.*

*He listened politely his head askew to the right as he trained his ears on her softly spoken words, his eyes narrowed and he nodded thoguhtfully.*

*Bacta of course wasn't exactly scarce it could as a matter of fact be fairly easily recreated and manufactured. However Steffo knew that the industry was worth billions and bacta was not what one might call a cheap commodity. What was more with nowhere where bacta production could be carried out near or on Yavin one had to consider the cost of transporting it in vast enough quantities that more wouldn't have to be shipped in. Therefore the Twi'lek's words were welcome ones, not only did it save lives, but costs and resources, what was more it established a bond between the Yavin IV academy and the station and the medical corps. This was great indeed.* "Your work is very important and it is clear you are a credit to corps, to the academy and to yourself, but I don't think you need me telling you." *He turned to face her and smiled warmly with genuine gratitude.

Then his face swiftly changed, his eyebrows arched then his face broke into a smile and he nodded emphusiastically.*
"Ahh yes, good old Zuli, how is the sly old dog doing?"

*Although zuli had been here as Sahala correctly pointed out the longest Steffo had seldom had chance to speak with him. Yet his reputation proceeded him, a quiet man with a hardened list longer than most of conflicts, negotiations and pursuits he had been invovled in. Zuli was a stout and trutworthy individual, a stoic Jedi and a warrior of the highest class.*

Re: Yavin Station

*A message suddenly appeared in the inbox of any presently on duty official.*

Greetings to anyone who finds this message.
I, Garen Laulbrei, merely wanted to mention that I was very pleased with my two day stay on your planet, you run a tight ship here...but perhaps it is just a bit to tight for me. I am taking my leave for my former home planet of Wayland to take up the role of chief of Medicine in the old Hospital there and I insist that if you ever require my medical expertise in the future, by all means please feel free to contact me. While I was on your planet, I wish to apologize for any unexplained actions I may have taken part in that made me seem not quite myself. It would be best if I merely leave it as that as the truth, you wouldn't honestly believe for a second. I look forward to assisting your team in the possible future war against the Sith and my medical facility by that time on the Planet Wayland will hopefully be up and running. All members of the New Jedi Order will of course receive a discount from their medical costs. I wish to note, Wayland is a free neutral world and will never fully join either the Jedi or the Sith, and if you attempt to take control, we will fight to our last breath to defend against it. You are always welcome to come for the medical attention but should you come on terms of ownership you will be shown the door. With that in mind, feel free to send your wounded and sick to our planet for care and we will do our best to accommodate them in their time of need.
Thank you and I look forward to news of the battle front and any help/patients you may send our way,
Cheers,
Garen Laulbrei D.M. DDS DMS etc.

*Her smile grew wide and warm, thoughts of the kindly old Jedi eliciting a swell of fondness in her chest. She didn't know the bulk of the Jedi all that well, but those that worked with the medical crews, Zuli Madoon among them, had become regular features in her life. More so, she was pleased to say, than the Jedi who went out on field missions often.*

=Sarha Vao=
"He seems, to me, to be pretty much the same constant, at least for as long as I've been here. Still towers over everyone, still talks in that oddly detached way that old, wise men do, still sit's chuckling away at the younglings whilst munching on his giant fruit." *She looked at him.* "You know how some people just seem to be a fixed constant? How they never change?"

Re: Yavin Station

*Steffo smiled and nodded. He knew exactly what she meaned and couldn't help but develop a slight envy toward the prestigious Jedi Master.*

*Steffo himself in what seemed like a lengthy career, but was perhaps more correctly just an active one had never found such a fixed way of living. His life as it were seemed to be constantly in motion and had seldom had or found time to just enjoy the simple pleasures in life. Force be praised his journey into the unknown regions had granted him respite and dually it had gifted him with a further calm demenour and one that was more fixed and certain. He was more certain. He perhaps didn't have a goal as such but he believed in the force and believed it would guide him along a fruitfull path. Hopefully one day he too could thoroughly enjoy lifes simplicities.*

"I know exactly what you mean, un-phased, unchanged by time or event." *He sighed wistfully and shook his head, his face bearing a slight sad smile.* "Zuli has for a long time now found a staunch fixed way in which he can serve to the best of his abillity and come hell or high water you'd still find him in the same spot still chuckling away at Younglings. What ever life throws at him he just seems to have that abillity of the wise, the abillity to just let things flow around him. That man's like a strong fortress" *Steffo found himself chuckling.* "I guess I am only contstant in my abillity to be unconstant." *Steffo smiled.*

*Steffo steered the subject away from himself, this wasn't about him and nor should it be.* "So what will you do with your self now?" *He nodded toward the large crates that by now had nearly all been neatly stacked.*

*She chuckled into her datapad yet again at his remarks on his own inconsistency, but didn't have a response for him. As he quizzed her about her next activity, she looked up, turning to face him, one Lekku dropping from her shoulder to trail behind her as she held that smile of hers.*

=Sarha Vao=
"Oh, paperwork is on the cards for me. Get this lot paired off and distributed where it's needed." *A playful shrug and a resigned expression punctuated her speech for just a brief pause here.* "Part and parcel of being on the senior staff of the medical division. A heck of a lot of paperwork."

*She glanced, yet again, down to the datapad, gestured to one pair of crates, and pointed off in a direction. The loading droids seem to comprehend the gestures, as they instantly separated those crates off and popped them onto a hoversled for transportation.*

=Sarha Vao=
"What's part one of your homecoming?"

Re: Yavin Station

*Steffo smiled in return. It was good to see her laugh and smile and he was glad he was able to bring her joy for who knew when last she had smiled or enjoyed herself, which made he himself take a mental note to unwind and relax at the next given opportunity.

He nodded along as she spoke.*

*It seemed every job had it's paperwork, even jedi had to file reports on missions so they could be archived, Steffo would like to say it was merely for study reasons so latter students could reflect or draw upon the mission and look at examples of how others worked or accomplished things. Sadly it had a more beauracratic side and was as much to cover the Jedi Order's back side against action that could possibly taken. It wouldn't be the first time a Jedi had been taken to court.*

"Ahh you see, that's what you get for being good at your job you see, more paper work." *He laughed and smirked plainly showing his flippant comment was in mere jest.

He raised his eyebrows, wow he hadn't thought too much in detail upon that subject until now.*

"I don't know." *He said with genuine uncertainty.* I'd like to think I can meet up with old aquaintences and get re-aquainted. I just hope it's possible." *He didn't delve into reasons as to why, he knew on previous ocassions his stays had been short, but this time he planned to stay as long as it seemed right to. He wanted to catch up and find out where thigns stood, not to mention he had skills that needed brushing up on and there were several talented Masters who could assist and who he would love to seek out.* "I have missed being a part of a community for sometime, I have never had friends like these here and at times I think I have somehow forgotten that." *He smiled meakly.*

"Happens to the best of us. What matters is that you remember it now." *The Twi'lek's head tilted aside, and she jerked a thumb over her shoulder.* "Look, I got to get on. But it was nice to meet you, ah..."

Re: Yavin Station

*Steffo smiled.*

*He liked her, she spoke truth as well and she didn't judge, what was nice was that she saw him as human before she saw him as Jedi which was the truth, but it was refreshing. Th majority saw the lightsaber clipped to his belt and assumed he should be nothing short of God like.*

*His smile broadened. He laughed, he had been so caught up in conversing with her introductions had quite slipped his mind, they didn't seem important. He eyed her humerously.* "No, no we didn't, well it was a pleasure and my name is Steffo Rancis."

*He inclined his head in a bow like manner before swivelling on his heels and making his way toward the lowered shuttle ramp. He strode evenly up the grey slightly rust flecked surface and entered the shuttle. He smiled politely at the single remaining medical corps member and after a brief conversation it became apparent that th young man was headed back down to the surface.*

*Following a tinny female voice that sounded out over the intercom Steffo duly buckled up as was suggested and leaned his ehad against the cold hard bulkhead as the boarding ramp closed with a hiss, he felt the vibrations increase as the engines powered up, somehow finding the rhythmic thumping a comfort. Perhaps it was more to do with where he was headed than the actual sensation itself.*

*Slowly the slightly delapidated but nontheless functionable shuttle rose off the hangar bay floor and slowly orientated to face the blue shimmering force field. It's ion drive ignited flaring a vibrant blue propelling the vessel toward the dark cold void of space.*
